About Sharon A Wright
We are a Bahamian/British management organisation and trade under the heading of The Wright Partnership, the principals originate, one from here in the Bahamas and the other from England. He was a 'left over' from a Government contract nearly 30 years ago. We both live on Gt. Exuma Either of us are readily available to service your needs at short notice 24/7.
Sharon A Wright purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Sharon A Wright chose George Town
The cottage, '007 Beach House' was built in 2007 on lot # C12007, to a design we evolved where the main theme was to be 'Bahamian' in concept, Storm Resistant, economical to build and provide sea views from all habitable rooms. It was built to a Budget and the final cost was within a few $'s of the Budget figure. It is designed and built to withstand hurricane force winds and has been tested by Hurricanes Irene 2011, Isaac 2012, Irma 2017 and a few Tropical Storms too, in particular Matthew 2017. If you like to holiday here regularly, we will be pleased to design and construct your second home to a budget to suit you and yes look after it for you while you are away. Ask John about this service when you arrive. Great Exuma is the most naturally protected island in The Bahamas. Surrounded by smaller islands that take the brunt of any storm. The waters are the most colourful and ideal for sailing/cruising/fishing/swimming/diving/snorkelling. There is a protective sea wall on the water front and around the landscaped garden. It is upon this wall that one side of the cottage is founded.
What makes this Cottage unique
There are fascinating reasons why this site was selected. The original site was at a very low level and the Spring High Water mark came well up into the site. By trimming the, sea facing rock front, it was possible to create a sheltered swimming area and the spoil was used to fill behind the sea defense wall. It is upon this rock fill, that the landscaping has been established. Initially a rock garden was formed., Later, between the rocks Sedge grass was planted, stone paths were laid down, Natural beach plants and succulents came along including Mangrove. Now you will find established plants and trees producing tropical fruit and vegetables within 40'0' (12m) of the Ocean. Trees and bushes include: Tamarind, Pomegranate, Sugar Apple, Guava, Paw Paw or Papaya, Coco Nut, both black and white Coco Plumbs, Sea Grapes and Darling Plumbs Tangerine and Limes. Vegetables and herbs include: Bird peppers, Basil, Mint, Rosemary, Pea Nuts, Asparagus, Granny Fingers or Okra, Pride of Barbados is a thorny pretty flowering tree yet the seeds are a good substitute for garden peas. Flowers include: Aloe Vera, Spider Lillies, Day Lillies, Amaryllis Agapanthus, Periwinkle, Frangapanni, White and Red Hibiscus, 7 day Apple. Because of this interesting mix we have flying and crawling visitors: A Humming bird visits daily for food (nested in a 7 day apple tree last year), Banana quit (nested on a Guava branch this year), the King Fisher picks up frogs, Osprey will take a fish from the sea whilst in flight, Heron stalk around in the shallows, any amount of fly catchers, yes we have lizards too. No doubt there is more flora and fauna, not mentioned here. Above everything else, it is the view in the morning either from the Bedrooms or the Living/Dining/Area and Kitchen.........absolutely majestic!
Smoking on the verandah only please
Sorry no provision for cot or high chair
We expect children of all ages to be supervised by an adult. You bend it you mend it applies to everything

We had a great stay at the house. John and Sharon were very accommodating and answered all of our questions, steering us in the right direction for whatever we needed.
Perfect location for DIY bonefishing. Would definitely stay here again!
Charlie: Thank you
Beautiful location but not worth it! Beware, dishonest property managers!
Where do I begin! We were traveling to the Bahamas to celebrate our 30th anniversary with a romantic getaway. Right after reserving a week,we requested to add a day but Sharon said we'd settle it when we got there, in a private email outside of VBRO "for privacy". At the house, we found that the A/C didn't work! It was a BIG deal! John strung us along from day one saying the part was ordered and would be there any day. We suffered every night in breezeless(the breezes stop about 4-5pm) 77-79dgr weather, had to take Benadryl to fall asleep and sweated all night. John said he knew about it 3 days before we came but didn't tell us! and said they would compensate us by not charging for the extra day, then denied ever saying that on the last day. Luckily I have it in an email from Sharon (manager, not owner!) "As through no fault of our own the a/c was inoperative, we are willing to forego the amount due as a small compensation for this element" Other problems with the listing: the "vents" on the cupola are boarded up,both the paddle boards' plugs were missing- so unusable, the seats on both kayaks are left in the weather and shredded, no mirrors in the bathrooms unless you include one warped plastic fun-house mirror in one, no curtains in the 2 bathrooms(that face the road), despite asking to use the sailboat, it sat under the house on a trailer all week, internet-worked maybe a few minutes a day, clothes dryer-in pieces under the house, no pool, grill- caked over with charred remains. The real slap in the face: Sharon requested to keep most of our deposit despite no damages by saying "Whilst here she borrowed my car and returned it with less than half full fuel tank." We RENTED it for the amount they advertise in the listing! I paid John in cash! Luckily my husband filmed it. We got it with less than1/4 tank, returned it with twice as much! Then adds about the extra day debacle/dispute:"This Lady(me!)has the ability to convert innocent remarks"(Don't know what these remarks are as we never spoke to her)"into what she feels are legitimate reasons to retain her deposit"(We should retain our damage deposit because there were no damages!)"It was very difficult for us to retain decorum"(That's a slap in the face as we never even spoke to Sharon and cooked for and gave a drink to John every time he came over, despite being miserable every nite!) As Sharon has ridiculed every negative reviewer,I can't wait to see what she writes about us. For shame Sharon!
Beautiful views, very comfortable house
We visited the week of May 5 to 12, 2018. The house is great. It has central air, not just those bedroom air conditioners that many Caribbean rentals have. It has a wrap around covered deck overlooking a beautiful bay. You can see sea turtle heads (and sometimes flippers) bobbing up in the bay while sitting on the deck. We saw sea turtles on 3 occasions but you can probably see them everyday if you keep your eye peeled. There are papaya trees and basil growing in the yard. We has fresh papaya for breakfast and basil pasta for supper. It's a 15 minute drive at most to Georgetown, a number of good restaurants, grocery store, the ferry dock where to can go to Stocking Island. We went to Stocking Island, snorkeled there a bit, and had a great plate of ribs at Chat n Chill. We also took a snorkel trip from the ferry dock (from Dive Exuma) that took us to 4 snorkel sites. You can also snorkel near the house or off a private island nearby. You might be able to snorkel with a sea turtle, but we never decided to get out and snorkel when we knew one was nearby. We also explored Little Exuma, which is a beautiful area. Use of a Sunfish sailboat comes free with the rental, and one of us (Tom) took it for a sail on the bay out the bay a couple of times.
Thank you again for visiting us, Nancy and Tom.
Clearly you had a good time even though we had heavy rain most of the days you were here.
Would be very pleased if you can come again
100% the perfect place
Everything about this place is great. The house is perfectly located on some of the best flats fishing. You can walk to Sharon's island at low tide. The kitchen is well equipped with nice pots and knives. The beds are comfortable with nice linens. The bathrooms are good size and the shower has great pressure and lots of hot water.
Besides the amazing house, John was a perfect host. He gave us rides. Picked us up at the airport, showed us around town, hooked us up with a fishing guide and answered all our questions. Than you John for making our stay so wonderful.
I would stay here again it was just perfect. I do recommend getting the car from John cause there is so much to see on the island
Thank you Janet,
We look forward to a return visit.
Could not be better
We had a wonderful time . Thanks to Sharon & John
Two weeks was too short.
Thank you John (and Sharon) for the lovely rental. Your house is the perfect size for the 4 of us. Just wonderful to be on the water, and wake up every morning to a beautiful peaceful sunrise, and feel at home, and not in a hotel. Perfect access to the bonefish flats out front, and plenty else to do as well. Kids enjoyed the swimming, and snorkeling and so on. We saw lots of fish just out front, and you are never alone on the flats. Lemon sharks, crabs, turtles, barracuda, spiny Atlantic lobster, and conch and of course the wily bonefish.
The house had everything we needed, but not too much either. We especially liked the lack of hassles involved, and have rated it 5 stars, even though a few things didn't go as expected, but Hey Mon, that is island life. Relax and enjoy it! We sure did. Thanks again. We hope to come back.
Thank you Sarah. You were one of the first to visit us after the Hurricane Matthew. It has been a big push to get anywhere near normal. Thank you for appreciating what we can offer and yes please do come again, with a view to stay longer.
The Waterfront Cottage '007 Beach House', is located at Lot C12007 Sea Breeze Drive, in the Bahama Sound 11 West Subdivision of Great Exuma, in the Bahamas. It is in a quiet location on the southern waterfront of Great Exuma island.
Great. Exuma is the largest island in the 365 chain of islands comprising Exuma.
The Bahamas is in the Atlantic Ocean but borders the North Eastern side of the Caribbean Sea. It has a temperate climate with temperatures between 55F (10C) in the winter and rises to the 90's F (32C) in the summer.
Shopping 3 miles. There is at least one of most types of shop in Town.
Entertainment is largely creative, make your own by visiting others in the area, go exploring, go to the Fish Fry but there are certain events: Fridays - rake and scrape at Eddy Edgewater, (a type of local music) Sundays - pig roast at Chat & Chill. End of March - Cruiser Sail Boat Regatta. Last week in April - National Native Sloop Regatta. This is high season. Ask for rental rates for this period and Christmas/New Year. November - Yuma Arts festival. Christmas and New Year - Junkanoo parades in Nassau.
