REMEMBER RETURN RENTERS GET AN ADDITIONAL 10% DISCOUNT SO LET ME KNOW IF YOU'VE RENTED MY PLACE PREVIOUSLY.

EVERY WHO SAYS HERE SAYS THE PICTURES DON'T DO THIS RENTAL JUSTICE - IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THEY EXPECTED!! BELLE TIMBRE The house sits on 3 acres of manicured grounds, with 400 ft on a rushing creek, and a large pond stocked with bass. There is a canoe available for on the pond fishing. Fishing is catch and release. For additional fishing, Cherokee Lake Park is not far, and there is a long deck out over the water for fishing.

Property easily accessible because it is just 1 mile from the Georgia Line and 3 miles off Spur 60 from the Georgia/North Carolina line. The log house is 2100 S.F. of rustic/chalet architecture and is beautifully decorated - on one side we have a family room/dining area/kitchen all open with a vaulted ceiling, main bedroom with a main bathroom w/double sink, tub w/shower and a utility washer/dryer area. A large Pella window views the Hummingbird and bird feeder/back yard area, and sliding doors open out to the 40 ft deck with table and chairs area.. A large archway opens out to the living room with 22 ft high paneled ceiling and gas fireplace on a raised hearth ,a large deer head over fireplace, a 2nd bedroom and bath with patio doors that view out to the pond. The entertainment center has a stereo music system with CDs and DVDs, and books to read. All this is on one floor, wheel chair accessible from the garage, deck and front door with a small step up. There is a front door with a stairway leading up to the loft from the stone hallway. The loft area is 15 x 15 and has a daybed that opens to a double sleeping area with comfortable upgraded twin bed mattresses, closet, desk and bureau. The house comfortably sleeps 6 people. . The house has two-zone heat and air systems, and two hot water heaters - Two TV's, one 43 inch flat screen In family room. There is a pro=form treadmill, a grill on the deck off the kitchen. Living room also has two large sliding doors that open to the deck, back yard and creek. There is a burn pit in the back yard for bonfires. PETS ARE ALLOWED BUT MUST BE PRE-APPROVED FOR THE COMFORT OF ALL GUESTS. Amost no traffic and creek makes the place DOG HEAVEN. One car can be put in garage, and a work bench and some tools If needed, guests can use tools, etc but they must be put back or replaced. The house is easily accessible by a driveway that gently slopes to house, and has flat area for multi-car parking. Both bedrooms downstairs are QUEEN beds. WI-FI, internet, satellite TV, and local Phone are also provided. The road to the house is a gravel road, very well kept and graded. Roads to cabins in this area can be a real problem especially those that sit on mountains. This should be a real concern when renting in the mountains - but this road is well maintained and safe. MURPHY NOW HAS A 110 MILLION DOLLAR CASINO IN MURPHY JUST PAST WALMART. We are 2 hrs from everything -Atlanta, Chattanooga and all the wonderful tourist sights, including white water rafting on the Ocoee and Nantahala (20 & 30 minutes) boating on Lake Chatuge w/ 200 miles of shoreline, hiking trails all over. BRING YOUR BIKE AND RIDE THE DRAGONTAIL - Take a day trip to Highlands and see Dry Falls, bridal veil falls, and all the great shops and dining in Highlands. Go to Chimney Rock park and ride the elevator to the top, or hike up the stairs to the top with a 100 mile view; ride to Ashville to Mt. Mitchell, the highest point in the south; go horseback riding and visit the castle restaurant at Brasstown valley resort and spa. Go to Hiawassee, Ga to the six-movie theatre with adjoining Playtime and Game area with every type of game and rides imaginable - across the street from theatre is the Blue Otter restaurant on Lake Chatuge with Karaoke on Friday nights. Or just sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and enjoy the many birds, hummingbirds, deer, turkeys, hawks, large woodpeckers, and wildlife we have around us..The house is thoroughly stocked with just about everything you could want or need. We just ask that any of the items you use in the house or garage be put back or replaced

About MARY YVONNE WALKER

This was the dream home that I planned for over 30 years. I did a lot of research on log homes, and put everything I loved about every place I have ever lived into this house. I designed the house and was the general contractor for the building process. No amount was spared and nothing but top quality materials went into the house, right down to double pane windows and sliding glass doors. I have never rented it to anyone, but now I spend most of the year down in my home in Florida because all my children and grand-children are down here. It was a shame to let it sit for so long with no one to enjoy it, so I decided to do vacation rentals to people who appreciate quality, comfort and peace and quiet. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do when I am there.

MARY YVONNE WALKER purchased this chalet in 2002

Why MARY YVONNE WALKER chose Murphy

This vacation rental has so many more amenities that you will not find in most vacation rentals. When you open the front door, take a deep breath and look around - you feel like you are home or in a home you would like to have. It is comfortable, cozy, everything you need and built like a fortress. It has everything you need to enjoy and quiet, homey vacation including a treadmill, burn pit, gas fireplace, and all the comforts you could want or need. Well behaved pets are welcome and the property, creek and pond are like DOG HEAVEN. NO TRAFFIC AND IT IS SO RARE TO FIND A CABIN RENTAL WITH A GARAGE. EVERYONE WHO HAS STAYED HERE FALLS IN LOVE WITH THE PLACE.

What makes this chalet unique

OUR RATES ARE COMPETITIVE AND INCLUDE TAXES. PROPERTY IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND THE HOUSE HAS AN ATTACHED GARAGE RIGHT OFF THE FAMILY ROOM AND MANY MORE AMENITIES THAN YOU USUALLY FIND IN VACATION RENTALS.

Great Location, Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

This property is in the perfect location - halfway between Murphy and Blue Ridge. We enjoyed a relaxing two months exploring the area and relaxing at the house. The house has everything you need and more, and Mary is wonderful to work with. She is very happy to help with any needs you may have. There is plenty of room for the dog to run around. Ours enjoyed both the creek and pond. We did not use the canoe or do any fishing. The road was no issue at all. In two months we only passed two other vehicles and it was easy to get around them. Thank you Mary!

Overgrown, pond and creek not accessible, not suitable for outdoor activities.

  • 1 of 5

The inside of the cabin was nice enough, but is outdated. The bed in the master bedroom is a king size bed frame but has a queen size mattress. Other than that the inside was nice enough. However, he property is overgrown with bushes crowding the house. The grass had been cut only right around the house, no trimming around any trees or bushes. Grass and weeds were so high around the pond and creek we could not allow our granddaughters to be off the deck. The reason we rented the cabin was because it was suppose to have a pond where they could fish and property where they could play. My husband and I saw 3 different snakes around the pond and in the yard. They were huge snakes. We are retired and also disabled. We have two young granddaughters whose parents both passed away a couple years ago. We get them every summer for two weeks and try to take them someplace fun or a week of that time. This year we chose this cabin, but they were not able to enjoy themselves because of the deception about the property. Would never go back there again and would not advise anyone else to do so if you like being outdoors.

Owner's Response: THESE ALLEGATIONS ARE ALL REDICULOUS,SPECIALLY AFTER ALMOST ALL 5 STRAIGHT REVIEWS. THE HOUSE SITS ON 3 ACRES WHICH ALL 3 ARE MOWED WITH PLENTY OF ROOM TO WALK AND PLAY. THERE WAS 3 WEEKS OF HARD, HEAVY RAIN BEFORE THEY ARRIVED, AND THE YARD WAS MOWED JUST 5 DAYS IN THE RAIN BEFORE THEY ARRIVED. I HAVE A PHOTO OF THE GRASS, ONLY 4 INCHES HIGH. AROUND THE TREES AND BUSHES, THE LITTLE UNDERGROWTH IN NOT TRIMMED. IT'S NOT CENTRAL PARK - IT IS IN THE MOUNTAINS. THERE IS SOME GROWTH AROUND THE POND BUT THERE IS AREAS WHERE THEY COULD FISH. SNAKES ARE RARE, BUT IF PROPERTY IS ON A CREEK AND POND ONCE SHOULD EXPECT TO MAYBE WEE SNAKES ESPECIALLY AFTER HEAVY RAINS. NONE ARE POINSONUS - JUST WATER SNAKES. THAT I CAN'T CONTROL AND I CAN'T CONTROL THE WEATHER EITHER. AS FAR AS THE BED, IT WAS A WATER BED AND HASS BEEN CUT DOWN TO ACCOMODATE THE NEW QUEEN SIZED MATTRESS AND IS ESY TO GET IN AND OUT. I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE USEDTO, BUT MY PLACE HAS BEEN CONSIDERED THE BEST PLACE AROUND TO RENT AND I GET REPEAT PEOPLE YEAR AFTER YEAR. IT IS FULLY UPDATED WITH ALL NEW APPLIANCES EXCEPT THE STOVE WHICH WORKS FINE. SOMETHING WAS NOT RIGHT WITH THESE FOLKS. AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVED THEY WANTED TO LEAVE. I BEND OVER BACKWARDS TO MAKE THEIR STAY PLEASANT, BUT COULDNT GET ANYWHERE WITH THEM. I WILL SAY THEY LEFT A MCDONALDS FOOD A MESS IN THE KITCHEN, LEFT GARBAGE OUTSIDE BY THE FRONT DOOR AND NOT IN THE CANS PROVIDED IN THE GARAGE, LEFT DISGUSTING THINGS IN THE BATHROOM WASTEBASKETS AND BROKE THE HOUSE RULES BY BRINGING TWO DOGS WITH THEM WITHOUT TELLING ME AND THEREBY BREAKING HOUSERULES. AFTER DOING EVERYTHNG I COULD TO CHANGE THEIR MINDS, YES, I REFUSED TO GIVE THEM A REFUND. NONE OF THE REASONS THEY SAY WERE GOOD ENOUGH REASONS AND I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY EVEN TRIED TO RENT A CABIN. PEOPLE LIKE THIS NEED TO STAY IN A HOTEL AND I WOULD NOT TELL ANYONE TO RENT TO THEM. MARY WALKER

Xmas rental

Dead bugs all over upon arrival..bed in second bedroom is a joke, the bed is partial mattress and partial comforter rolled up to take up the dead space..boat was left in pond full of water and no place for inside dogs, garage is to cold..guests had a hard time with Wi-Fi due to sharing small amounts of data through the month with other guests who book in that month.. cleaning crew should take more pride and owners should check it more often

Owner's Response: In answer to all these allegations, anyone who knows the mountains knows that in the late fall and early winter, lady bugs come into all the houses. You can vacuum up 50 and the next day there are 50 more. It's something we who live there take it in stride. My cleaning girl checked the house out two days before their arrival and cleaned up what bugs were there and re-mopped the floor. The bed spoken about is a queen sized mattress and because there is a small area between the mattress and frame, there are body pillows to take up that space. No one else ever complained. Inside dogs are supposed to be crated if left alone. It is not my responsibility to provide an area to keep dogs in. During the draght the boat was parked lower near water, and when rain came it raised the pond level and floated the boat. None of these things were mentioned after I had several phone conversations with them. Like I always say, Tell me first so I can fix it before you tell everyone else.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay. The house itself is very welcoming and "homie". Vast property with a lot of privacy, and even a small pond to catch and release a view Bass from :-)

We very much enjoyed our stay at Belle Timbre. Ms Walker gave us great directions/instructions and the ease of booking was great! The surrounding property is beautiful. It is level and well maintained, great for walking. Our dogs loved being able to run and play and they loved the creek. My husband was hoping to fish, but pond was down too much due to the drought. We especially loved that the majority of the cabin was all on one level. Another positive was that it was close to town. We dined the first night at dog friendly murphy chophouse. That was very convenient. We spent the next day just relaxing around the cabin. We only stayed a couple of days, but would have loved to stay longer. We will definitely be back. The gravel road leading to the cabin is narrow as others have stated, but we had no problem driving in or out.
