About Owner/Manager

A transplant to the western North Carolina mountains, who loves nature and hiking.

Owner/Manager purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Owner/Manager chose Asheville Area

We built this cabin on our property in 2014 to share the lovely views and creek with visitors.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is a get away from it all. There is no internet or cell service, so you can get off the grid for a while. There are great outdoor activities in Hot Springs and Asheville is nearby too. The Smoky Mountains are not far.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Mary was very helpful with all the questions we had for her. We had a great time at Apple Cabin on the Creek, we truly wish we had stayed longer. It was the perfect spot to get some R&R. The cabin was spacious and well equipped. Like other visitors, we loved the wooden stove! The cabin is conveniently located about 50 minutes away from Asheville, so it fit perfectly into our plans. The drive there offers some wonderful mountain views. Absolutely would recommend!

Great house, make sure it the right location for you

  • 3 of 5

We wanted to spend some family time together for our Grandmother's 87th Birthday. The house was fantastic for spending family time. The outdoor space if fabulous! We truly enjoyed the outdoor patio, running creek, lawn space and fire pit (we did make a fire). The house is new. Down side is that the property is very remote. A drive to the nearest grocery store is 45 minutes, mostly of extremely windy narrow roads. The view from the patio straight across the street is horrible, the neighbors have a property full of cars, trailers, barns, etc. not a pleasant view.

Very clean and quiet getaway.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very well kept and close to the quaint community of Trust. Finished basement provides a lot of extra room for families with kids.

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Apple cabin was awesome! Everything was so clean and had a very welcoming atmosphere when we first walked in. I took my girlfriend here for an anniversary weekend getaway and I couldn't have been more satisfied. The cabin was awesome, looked as if it was professionally decorated. There were plenty of maps and local attraction booklets provided as well as games, cards and puzzles. Plenty of towels blankets and linens. Beds slept wonderfully. Even though it was just the two of us, the cabin could easily sleep 8 people. The fireplace was amazing and there was plenty of wood to burn. There is also a trail behind the cabin as well, the signs pointing the direction are alittle hard to read but there was also a map of the trail in the welcoming binder. The back door was hard to figure out how to lock at first but after we read the directions we were able to get by. Plenty to do around as well, Asheville is like 30 mins away and we definitely recommend checking out Max Patch while in the area, which is only maybe 25-30 mins away. Definitely wish we could've stayed longer! Overall awesome experience, highly recommend.

Beautiful place to rest and relax!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Apple Cabin. It was clean, comfortable and very restful, especially when sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch and listening to the gurgling brook. We were just sorry that we only had one night there. My sister, who was traveling with us, would like to know what kind of mattress or topper you have on the bed in the smaller bedroom. She said that was the first time her back has not hurt on arising in a long time. Very enjoyable visit. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here again.

The property was beautiful. The beds were terrible for the cost of the house we were disappointed in the beds. Also had some problems locking the door. I would also suggest more comfortable seating in the living room. It would be nice if an iron and board were provided for people attending weddings etc. Had a great time over all.

Thanks The Ottos

Owner's Response: I'm sorry you didn't find the beds comfortable. You are the first people to not enjoy them. We have had numerous compliments on our beds and have even had some people ask the brand and model so they could purchase the same kind.
