About Ben

Hi there! My name's Ben. My wife Elizabeth and our daughter Madelyn have been living here in Brooklyn for over five years now.

Ben purchased this studio in 2010

Why Ben chose Brooklyn

We were looking for something in Brooklyn to accommodate Liz's work commitments and we found this amazing Brownstone in the up and coming neighborhood of Stuyvesant Heights. It has really been amazing watching the neighborhood grow with small businesses popping up everywhere to bring a richness and diversity to the area.

What makes this studio unique

The neighborhood is over 100 years old and as such the architecture everywhere is stunning to look at. We had always fantasized about owning a Brownstone and its been a dream come true, living in one and renovating it over time.

Clean and Comfortable in convenient location.

Clean and comfortable.

Convenient location, five minute walk to neighborhood restaurants, small markets, subway.

Clear communication.

Ben provided a book that laid out nearby markets, restaurants, and subway locations.

We would stay here again.

A Warm Brooklyn Welcome for a Winter's Stay

  • 5 of 5

Both Ben and Maddie gave us a warm welcome to their brownstone accommodations in Brooklyn. The rooms were clean and well furnished. We were in easy walking distance of the metro station at Utica Ave. We felt safe touring the local neighborhood which afforded a nearby grocery store and several excellent restaurants. Peaches was our favorite! We had a terrific time touring Brooklyn and Manhattan. Thank you, Ben and Maddie!

Brownstone in Brooklyn fit the bill

  • 5 of 5

Ben's ground floor studio in Brooklyn worked well for us. It is about a half mile walk to the A/C subway and just a block from the bus line. There are several small restaurants near by. Many little markets with in a block or so and near Malcolm X Blvd with many nicer restaurants. The bed was firm and the kitchen was perfect. I liked that there was a washer/dryer in the unit. But, it takes a LONG time to dry a load and we needed to use the clothes rack to get the clothes fully dry. Ben and his family were very nice.

We had an issue one night with the upstairs renter being noisy into the wee hours of the morning, but found the earplugs and were able to finally sleep. Ben responded right away to my plea the next day and spoke to the renters and the problem was solved!

All in all, a good stay. WE are not early risers and would have preferred an 11 AM check out instead of a 10 AM.

"This is the place to stay!"

  • 5 of 5

After months of searching for the perfect Brownstone we found it in this property. The apartment was exactly as pictured. Very comfortable, cozy and clean. Not a single problem with anything. Ben and Liz were great hosts from start to finish. Great location in a friendly comfortable and beautiful neighborhood. There's a Variety of really good restaurants which makes it easy to plan your night if you don't want to go far. We drove in with our own vehicle and had no parking issues. There's no better way to add to a perfect geteway than to have the space be such a memorable addition. We can't wait to come back again!

Perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I loved this apartment. It's a great neighborhood to hang out in. We were a bit weary of staying in an area that we knew nothing about. My wife is a bit of a weenie and was nervous about being out at night. The area is incredibly safe. We rode the subway every day and got back very late every night. Not a problem at all. The place is well equipped with everything we needed. The only thing it doesn't have is a clothes dryer. There is a drying rack which works great. The apartment also gets great sunlight even though it's the basement unit. The bed is very comfortable with great linens and bath towels. My wife and I have rented many places and not once have we had better communication with the owner. Ben is fantastic. Just wish we could have met him.

Owner's Response: Thanks Todd and Shari! Glad you had a great time, but sorry we missed you. Please come back anytime! Ben Liz and Maddie. (Clarification - Todd mentions this as a basement apartment which is incorrect. It is a ground floor apartment with street level access.)
