Enjoy all that Three Oaks has to offer including Acorn and Vickers Theater, Journeyman Distillery and Staymaker Restaurant, Music in the Park, Biking, and Beaches from this corner cottage, shaded by old trees, beautifully updated and decorated. Enjoy morning coffee on the screen porch, roast marshmallows in the evening under the shade of the trees. Three bedrooms, one with bunk beds, and two full plus one half bath allow for family time or romantic getaway. Enjoy the well-appointed kitchen, or relax and grill. Or, travel to one of Southwest Michigan's brew pubs and restaurants.
I am a teacher, and a mother of two young children. My husband is also a teacher, and although we love Chicago, our primary home, and its diversity, we appreciate our escape to the peace and tranquility of Three Oaks. The Village is a wonderful retreat from the frenetic pace of the city, but it is alive with possibility as well. We enjoy the Farmers' Market, the shops and parks, and the local restaurants. Biking in rural Michigan is a snap from Three Oaks, with Dewey Canon Bike shop, marked riding trails and maps, and rentals a block away. We also enjoy the restaurants and brew pubs that are becoming part of the local scene. With live music at The Acorn Theater to Indie films at Vickers, Three Oaks is an oasis of culture and things to do in a small town relaxed atmosphere.

Our home in Three Oaks has a lovely yard, great neighbors, and a comfortable feel.

The owner changed (increased) the cost of the original rental when she realized, after the fact, that the rental was during an event weekend. Furthermore, the house was not clean. We had to clean the front and back porches and steps and master bathroom before we could use them (When we complained, the owner did forgive our cleaning fee.) There was no room in the closets or refrigerator for our things; also the refrigerator was not clean. 3 towels were set out for our use. The topmost towel was threadbare, stained, torn and had a hole in it. The living room sofa was enmeshed by cobwebs. The promised barbecue and fire-pit were unusable. The water in the house is highly sulfated and smells like rotten eggs. We had to get bottled drinking water and bathing was not pleasant. Across the street is a grain elevator which ran a large and loud engine day and night. Loud dehumidifiers also run in the house's basement. The overall effect is very noisy inside and out. We would not recommend this rental unless it is substantially upgraded.
We tremendously enjoyed the Apple Cider Century bike ride, main street antiques, Vickers movie house, Acorn theater and the Journeyman Distillery. We had great meals at the Greenbush in Sawyer, the Luna Cafe on the Red Arrow Highway, and the Bentwood restaurant in New Buffalo. We had a wonderful visit to Grand Mere State Park (marsh, lake, beach and dunes). Quite apart from the organized ride, bicycling around the town of 3 Oaks is wonderful with self-guided rides in every direction through beautiful contryside.
Owner was very nice, had to E-Mail a couple questions to her during our stay & she was always very prompt in her response. The house was well supplied with everything you needed for your stay. Also was very clean. Would defiantly stay there again !
