Our family fell in love with this area the first time we stepped off a plane here. We love visiting with our parents and our children. There are so many great things to do every time we come we seem to find more ways to amuse ourselves. Although just sitting on our deck soaking up the views is as good a pastime as any other.
In the summer we love to hike from the house, fish in the Snake river just minutes away, cycle, horseback ride, white water raft, cayak, visit yellowstone the list is endless......In the winter we love to ski it's a short 17mile drive to the main ski area at Teton village and despite all sorts of record snow falls our roads are always plowed in time to hit the slopes. We also enjoy visiting the national elk refuge and the odd day of snowmobiling.
High Peaks blew us away! The first thing you'll notice upon entering the front door is the gorgeous view of the Tetons right in front of you. The house had everything we needed and more - we never even got a chance to fully enjoy the entertainment room downstairs. The hot tub really made a difference after a long day of skiing. The living room upstairs with its beautiful wood fireplace was the perfect spot to relax with friends. Hopefully we'll be able to come back next year and bring a bigger group!
This really is a fantastic place to stay. I'd say the photos give a good view of what you're going to get in terms of rooms, though if anything it felt a little bigger than that. The kitchen is very well supplied, and our party of 7 had no problems with catering. The views are absolutely spectacular. The moose photos are the real deal - we saw several in the area and tracks up the driveway one day.
If you're visiting in winter, you will want a 4WD for sure. The road and driveway were cleared nicely, but we were very glad to have capable vehicles. The internet is pretty slow - OK for minor browsing, but no go for much more than that. We did have good phone reception on a local carrier.
I'd be very happy to stay here again. I'm sure it's fantastic in summer.
High Peaks exceeded expectations all around! We had such a lovely time staying here. This was truly a “great experience" and many great memories were created on this trip. The home is gorgeous and there was plenty of room. The views of the Grand Tetons are phenomenal from a majority of the rooms. We enjoyed every amenity the house had to offer from the fire pit, to the gourmet kitchen, to the jacuzzi tub, to the gas grill, to the fireplaces…. the house has it all! The beds were heavenly, the heated floors in the bathrooms were great touch, and the layout ensured all the privacy you could want. Only problem was… we should have booked it for 2 weeks instead of just one! :-) We will be back!
This property is exceptional with million dollar views, all amenities, and comforts for up to 10 people (well, maybe not that many cars!).
We had a wonderful stay and recommend it highly. The only thing that could be better is internet reception but as the home is 12 miles from Wilson, I expect there are not many cell tower repeaters.
Bring your hiking and fishing gear and get ready for fun!
This was quite possibly the most outstanding rental experience I've ever had. In fact, thanks to our experience at High Peaks Lodge, it was one of the best vacations I've ever had. My family of 10 booked High Peaks for a reunion of sorts in the Tetons. The house was beyond incredible - the owners thought of every single detail to make our stay memorable and wonderful in every way. From the fantastically equipped kitchen (LOVE the AGA!!), to the physical layout of the house, the architecture, views, wildlife, artwork, fabric, furniture, landscaping, linens and all the personal touches that were so evident - everything was perfect. The house accommodated all of us with tons of room to spare, which is no small feat for a family of 10. High Peaks' location was perfect for us - we were able to take advantage of Jackson and the Park when we wanted to, but thanks to it being slightly off the beaten path in Wilson, we could dodge the summertime crowds as well. The owners were very responsive to our pre-arrival inquiries and provided resources for us via email. Their house manual was wonderfully thorough and not only gave us practical information about the house, but also provided helpful information about the area. I can't think of one thing, one aspect about our stay I would have changed. If I could, I'd rate High Peaks a 100 out of 10 - it was THAT amazing. We will DEFINITELY return!!
Our extended family of ten (6 adults, 4 kids) had a wonderful vacation in the Jackson area with High Peaks Lodge as our home base. We actually would have been pretty happy to spend all of our time in or around the house. The setting is gorgeous and the house is lovely, spacious and well-appointed. Everyone loved the house and we made good use of the fireplace, fire pit, and hot tub. There are also some nice walks/hikes right from the house. We'd love to return in the future.
