Whether you find yourself on the covered porches in the front of the house, on the deck to the side that gets sunshine most of the day, or if you're out back on the Patio Garden, you'll know you're in the heart of the Rocky Mountains the moment you step outside. You can sit in the sunshine most days, all year round, or wrap yourself in a blanket under the stars as you watch the moon traverse from one side of the valley to the other.
The inside is comfortable for entertaining, relaxing, celebrating, or simply enjoying those you are with. There's a well equipped kitchen with two ovens, two sinks, and an island; an eating nook off the kitchen with great views of the valley, a sitting room also off the kitchen with a large tv and comfy sectional sofa around a fireplace, a formal dining room for gathering, and a living room with chairs and ottomans surrounding another fireplace. There is a laundry room on the main floor.
The mudroom harnesses your ski gear or holds a sweater to grab for a walk above the golf course in the evening. The lower level has another large TV for movies, an original XBox to play DVDs or some games, or to entertain you as you put some miles on the treadmill. There is floor space down there for sleeping bags.
The four main bedrooms on this property each have their own bath and can be made with 4 King beds, or 3 Kings and 2 Twins, or 2 Kings and 4 Twins. In the Guest Quarters Sitting Room there is 1 Twin Daybed with 1 more Twin mattress underneath. There is 1 Queen futon either in the back bedroom or on the lower level.
In the main house, the master bedroom has a king bed, steam shower, soaking tub, and double sinks and dressing areas. The front bedroom has 1 King or 2 Twin beds with its own bath that has a tub shower. The back bedroom has 1 King bed or 2 Twin beds and a queen futon and its own bath with a tub shower.
The attached Guest Quarters that are over the garage have 1 King bed, its own bath with a tub shower, and a sitting room/office with 1 Twin Daybed and 1 Twin mattress beneath it. There's also a private covered porch off the sitting room that overlooks the valley or serves as a great sleeping porch for a slew of sleeping bags.

I first came to Colorado in 1964, as a kid, to ski with my family and this place has been in my heart ever since. I've lived here most of the time since 1978, and when I leave, it always calls me back.
My two wonderful kids are grown and mostly gone and my dogs and I have been spending more and more time in another state of late.
I love having people in the house when I'm here and when I'm not and someone suggested I try this to give others an opportunity to appreciate the magic of this place. People who visit often comment on how relaxing and rejuvinating The Property is, so I thought I'd share some of that.
Siouxzy purchased this house in 1994
I designed and built this house back in 1994 with the intent of providing some place comfortable and special to raise my kids, nestled in the trees. Besides being our home, I wanted a place where my friends and my family were comfortable visiting with us for a week or weeks at a time, so it was important to have enough spaces to gather or to have some quieter time alone, and this house does that well.
This house is within an hour of the world class resorts of Aspen and Vail, moments from the local golf course up on the hill, and minutes from the famous Hot Springs Pool and downtown Glenwood Springs. It is about two miles to the pool or downtown. Sunlight Mountain Resort is 30 minutes away and is a great family ski area or place to make fresh tracks all day long on a powder day.
There are bike trails that can be caught at the bottom of our hill which connect us to Aspen and to Vail, or invite a ride along the river or up to The Village Smithy in Carbondale for breakfast. We have kayaking, rafting, Gold Medal Fishing waters, hiking, music, some great restaurants for families or a special night out, snow shoeing, and so much more, or you can choose to simply stay in and enjoy the comforts of this home with its fabulous views and the secluded, heavily treed property on the hill.
"Thank you, Siouxzy, for renting to our very large group. Your beautiful house was just perfect for our family reunion...The location was so convenient and the set-up/layout of the house was great for multiple families. We immediately felt at home here..."
We loved our stay and wish we had been able to have a few more days to just relax and enjoy. The home was spacious and served our family very well. We especially loved sitting on the front porch and enjoying the landscaping as well as the wild turkeys that frequented the lawn area. The back patio was a great area to have our morning coffee. It was so quiet and peaceful there. The home was well equipped for all our needs and we had lots of space to be together or to have quiet time alone.
This lovely home was perfect for our annual extended family Glenwood vacation. Eight adults, three teens, and two younger children had plenty of room without bumping into one another. We cooked all of our meals in the large, fully equipped kitchen which saved us a ton of money not having to eat out. Our last evening we cooked out on the grill and took advantage of the beautiful back patio. There was plenty of room for all of us to eat outside.
Siouxzy was such a wonderful and very unobtrusive hostess! We only hope that she's still renting her beautiful home for next year's vacation. The kids have told us they don't want to stay anywhere else!
Our 3 generation family (12 people) stayed during what could have been record-breaking heat for the area, yet the entire home was very comfortable. Our 3 children and their families were able to enjoy their privacy in the large bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms; but, the family rooms were especially pleasing with plenty of room for the entire family for meals and conversation. My favorite was probably the secluded location, beautiful decks, patios and gardens with room/area adjusting volume of the music system. After enjoying a BBQ on the back patio our first evening, we were startled by the sound and glimpse of very large birds flying by – turkeys rooting in neighboring trees for the night. Many of us didn’t know turkeys could fly. We were greeted the following night by a meandering white-tail deer on the hill-side above the patio garden.
Not only was the home very practical with everything you might need to include salt, pepper, soaps and paper products, it was created in such a way that it brought the outside in, and the inside out. It was very inviting and tastefully decorated with a very cozy feel – the perfect place for family. Thank you Siouxzy!
Siouxzy's house in Glenwood Springs was the perfect place for our family to enjoy our long weekend in the valley! The house is laid out to best utilize many spaces and the outdoor patios are magnificent!
Siouxzy is also one of the most gracious, kind, and overall wonderful host. Her communication was always excellent. We are so happy to have been able to stay at her house and experience all of the great food and fun in Glenwood Springs. Hopefully we will be back soon one day!
This house was perfect for our family of 2 kids, 3 adults and 2 grandparents. Space for us all to be together and also alone when we needed it. Perfectly furnished. Perfect location. Perfect vacation!
The house is spectacular: huge, multi levels, large rooms for dining and entertaining, wonderful bedroom suites. We couldn't have asked for a better place
