A metal fireplace is outside on the large patio for your enjoyment. There are many lakes a short drive away for swimming, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. If you are looking for a larger cabin, please search our rental listing 3685593, which is the Mountain Laurel cabin.
Pine Marten, like our Mountain Laurel cabin, was lovingly hand built from the trees on the property.
owners/property manager purchased this cabin in 1998
We are on fifty acres of pine woods and each cabin is situated privately at each end of the property to ensure our guests have their own spot of quiet relaxation.
If you love the smell of pine trees and love being in a quiet pine woods, you'll love our Pine Marten cabin.
Little cabin, big woods, all the peace one would need and beyond imagine. Kids didn't appreciate the lack of electricity and busy-ness but the grown up did! Kids actually got to explore nature and all it's beauty; turtle, caterpillars, dear tracks and the woods in general. Please note, the driveway is rough for large vehicles as it is mostly sized for four wheelers. Town is very close (10 -15 mins) for necessities.
Overall we enjoyed getting back to the basics of life!
The cabin was stocked with just about everything you could need; utensils, pots, wood, propane, etc. The location is perfect if you want to escape the rush and chaos of every day life. My boyfriend and dog loved! The rain water shower is also a unique and awesome experience. Can't wait to go back!
This was our second of hopefully many more visits to The King's Pines. You could not ask for a better mix of convenience and rustic solitude. Always clean and well prepared, the cabins provide us with a home away from home while visiting relatives in the area. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation experience.
I don't even know where to begin! Everything was so awesome here! First I loved how the cabin was so far back in the woods! My husband and I stayed there for the holiday weekend and we were so impressed when we got there. Everything was so clean and stocked! We had firewood and lots we never ran out! Two days and three night were enough! We didn't want to go home. We loved the down stairs Which had a queen bed and a table and it was stocked with spices and everything! We had a burner inside and a grill outside! We had friends join us with their three Kids for the day! They checked out the place and fell in love. Their kids could run free openly! We all fit around the big campfire! There was so much to do but we didn't have enough time! We went to Croghan NY great tips on the old ice cream trip owners and the fourth of July fest at the historical Mennonite Farm! We loved it here and you will to! We had fun learning the shower! We loved how eviornment friendly the owner made this place. We will be returning soon! We loved it here and didn't want to go home! In life we all need to relax more! As I shut the door I found my second home and a piece of heaven right here at the little cabins in the woods...it was like it's own little secret. Memories of our stay at this little cabin will be forever remembered! ( note to owners thank you for such an awesome stay)
Unbelievably beautiful place. The woods were so quiet and nice to walk around.
We booked the cabin for the summer time and this was our first trip to up state NY. Every year we do a mom and son vacation (he is 10 yrs old) and the cabin was perfect! I did not expect all the fine touches throughout the cabin like all the stocked firewood, the radio in the cabin, utencils for cooking, extra propane, even down to the "girlie" spray (as my son called it) in the outhouse. There is a sink for washing dishes in the shower room and even a propane burner under the water for your shower. I cannot tell you the last time I rented a rustic cabin and had a hot shower! Great time and Rick and Maria are always a phone call away.
