Fresh air and relaxation

  • 5 of 5

The cabins at the King's Pines are a great place to get away and relax. All the conveniences you need while still "roughing it" a little. Comfortable accommodations make for a home away from home environment. Don't miss this location.

Wonderful secluded well stocked Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My friend Rachelle invited me to stay with her at this Cabin. I was so pleasantly surprised. I was amazed at how well it was built and thought out. We stayed here at the end of June for 4 days. The weather did not cooperate but that was OK. 3 days of rain and cool weather with no humidity made it very Cozy. Especially sitting out on the patio with the fire in the fireplace at night. So relaxing and quiet. All the wood having been cut and stacked with kindling was very cool. Birding was amazing, a whole family of Ravens visited, Wood Thrushes singing, red breasted nuthatches and lot's of Woodpeckers. What really amazed me is how well stocked and organized the cabin was, and clean and tidy. Being an antique car restore and coming from an engineering background i was really impressed by the Solar power setup and especially the hard work that went into the the rainwater fed shower house. Complete with wood stove and Propane water heater. Very cool. We had plenty of fresh rainwater that weekend. At first i thought this was too primitive and wasn't sure when i first arrived but by the time i left is said i would love to live like this. Just maybe not during the winter. I just can't say enough what an enjoyable vacation this was being back to nature. Made me feel like a Boyscout kid again. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone that want's to rough it a little and experience a one of kind stay. Joe Shukay

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We really appreciate it, especially my husband who as a child loved to build tree forts in the woods and continued his love by building cabins in the pine woods. Winter is even more beautiful and secluded. Traveling through the woods on snowshoes listening to the quiet and then returning to a warm cozy cabin is an experience you would love. Maria & Rick

What a fantastic time

  • 5 of 5

Both my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it the cabin. We love getting away be very secluded. We traveled up to the Stillwater Reservoir and had a wonderful time up there. Will you love the rain water showers and sitting by the campfire every night. This was such a wonderful getaway, I love how quiet the nights were.

An experience to remember!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I have an absolutely amazing time at this cabin. It was small and cozy and we really enjoyed keeping up the fire and hearing the birds in the morning. Rick and Maria were so helpful and really just fantastic people. It was nice to have them onsite at another cabin during our stay, we got to spend some time with them and they personally explained how to use the shower house. We loved how natural everything was and would come back in a heart beat. Our toy Australian Shephard had a total ball running around the property. Using the outhouse was not a challenge or nuisance it was actually sort of nice, I have no complaints at all, me and my family are hoping to come back in the summer :)

The Best Getaway in the Adirondacks

  • 5 of 5

I would be remiss to not give the Cabin at King’s Pines a deserved stellar review. The location and accommodations offer the perfect mix of ‘getting away from it all’ without being completely bare bones. The owners do a wonderful job of providing you with a perfectly functional cabin, outhouse and shower along with all of the additional needs (e.g. wood for the woodstoves and fires, lanterns, a Coleman stove, etc.).

The property is fantastic as is, very isolated but easily accessible. There are a hefty handful of great places to visit in the area as well. We were able to go to Stillwater Reservoir (about 25 minutes from the cabin) where we hiked a trail to the top of the corresponding mountain where we could see the fall foliage in full color for tens of miles. It was beautiful.

Do not let the price scare you; the low price in no way reflects the quality of the cabin and the experience. And while I hope that many more people are able to enjoy this place, I secretly hope that it remains somewhat of a secret because my girlfriend and I have already decided that as long as it is available, the Cabin at King’s Pines will always be our first choice for getaways. Major thanks to the owners. Great great job.

A beautiful place away from home

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very nice located in a great location. My boyfriend had a great time sitting outside around the bomb fire. We didn't have phone service but it was nice all the same. The only downfall was the driveway was small so you couldn't drive up to the cabin and when it rained it got really muddy. Overall though.the place was wonderful and we would stay here again.

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Most of the year the driveways are really good and people drive right up to the cabin. It's only spring melt combined with rain that creates the muddy conditions, sorry for that. For future reference, we get pretty good cell service on the south side of the cabin. We're so glad you came and had a good time. Thank you for your review. Rick & Maria
