This cabin is situated privately on 50 acres of pine woods, nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks. This small cabin is great for individuals and families looking for an affordable way to enjoy the quiet Adirondack experience. Like the larger cabin on the opposite end of the property, Pine Marten is back-to-nature with a hot rainwater shower and sink. Solar powered lighting is provided for the inside of the cabin, as well as oil lamps. A propane cook stove and an outdoor propane grill are available for your use. A metal fireplace is outside on the large patio for your enjoyment. There are many lakes a short drive away for swimming, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. If you are looking for a larger cabin, please search our rental listing 3685593, which is the Mountain Laurel cabin.
Pine Marten, like our Mountain Laurel cabin, was lovingly hand built from the trees on the property.
owners/property manager purchased this cabin in 1998
We are on fifty acres of pine woods and each cabin is situated privately at each end of the property to ensure our guests have their own spot of quiet relaxation.
If you love the smell of pine trees and love being in a quiet pine woods, you'll love our Pine Marten cabin.
My boyfriend and I have an absolutely amazing time at this cabin. It was small and cozy and we really enjoyed keeping up the fire and hearing the birds in the morning. Rick and Maria were so helpful and really just fantastic people. It was nice to have them onsite at another cabin during our stay, we got to spend some time with them and they personally explained how to use the shower house. We loved how natural everything was and would come back in a heart beat. Our toy Australian Shephard had a total ball running around the property. Using the outhouse was not a challenge or nuisance it was actually sort of nice, I have no complaints at all, me and my family are hoping to come back in the summer :)

I would be remiss to not give the Cabin at King’s Pines a deserved stellar review. The location and accommodations offer the perfect mix of ‘getting away from it all’ without being completely bare bones. The owners do a wonderful job of providing you with a perfectly functional cabin, outhouse and shower along with all of the additional needs (e.g. wood for the woodstoves and fires, lanterns, a Coleman stove, etc.).
The property is fantastic as is, very isolated but easily accessible. There are a hefty handful of great places to visit in the area as well. We were able to go to Stillwater Reservoir (about 25 minutes from the cabin) where we hiked a trail to the top of the corresponding mountain where we could see the fall foliage in full color for tens of miles. It was beautiful.
Do not let the price scare you; the low price in no way reflects the quality of the cabin and the experience. And while I hope that many more people are able to enjoy this place, I secretly hope that it remains somewhat of a secret because my girlfriend and I have already decided that as long as it is available, the Cabin at King’s Pines will always be our first choice for getaways. Major thanks to the owners. Great great job.
The cabin was very nice located in a great location. My boyfriend had a great time sitting outside around the bomb fire. We didn't have phone service but it was nice all the same. The only downfall was the driveway was small so you couldn't drive up to the cabin and when it rained it got really muddy. Overall though.the place was wonderful and we would stay here again.
This is the perfect getaway! The owners thought of everything that you would need for a camping trip. It's quiet and relaxing. I would give this more than five stars if I could.
Can't say enough about the Cabin at The King's Pines. Love all the hard work Rick & Maria put into their property. Spoke to Rick on the phone; really good person, didn't rush me spent the time to talk to me. I messaged Maria a few times before the stay; very timely and helpful replies. Loved the pay it forward style of living, could see many past visitors left a little something to help the next guest; we continued the tradition.
As for the stay it was wonderful; spent time going on hikings around the area, went canoeing, spent a day at Old Forge, and just enjoyed the life around the property. Saw three wild turkey walking on the property & had a chipmunk hug my toes & sit on foot to eat breakfast (I promise you that is not a lie).
Would come back in a heartbeat.
First, put a few new photos up of the property; the bathhouse is beautiful and the new fireplace shows to you handle colder temperatures as well.
Second, Consider putting a funnel/filter to your water cache system that allows you to add water from ground level (if there was I didn't see it). I felt wasteful everyday I poured out gallons of melted ice water on the ground....just a thought.
Loved Loved Loved....Thank you
Little cabin, big woods, all the peace one would need and beyond imagine. Kids didn't appreciate the lack of electricity and busy-ness but the grown up did! Kids actually got to explore nature and all it's beauty; turtle, caterpillars, dear tracks and the woods in general. Please note, the driveway is rough for large vehicles as it is mostly sized for four wheelers. Town is very close (10 -15 mins) for necessities.
Overall we enjoyed getting back to the basics of life!
