Originally an artist's studio situated in the grounds of a privately owned family Villa in an inner city conservation area with a beautiful garden of two acres with cypresses and olives and a good sized swimming pool. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance and a bus stop 2 minutes from the gates. The Studio has a large lounge and dining area. There is a double/twin bed which is screened off from the rest of the room, and also a sofa-bed (suitable for a child no more than 10) and a cot for a baby. The kitchen and bathroom are separate rooms. The Studio which is quite apart from the Villa has a little outside terrace for dining and a barbecue is available. You have full use of the garden. Private parking (free) is on the property. The secluded swimming pool (not used by the Villa), with poolside loungers and a shady arbour with table and chairs, is close by. There is a laundry house in the grounds for your use with washing machines and dryer. The property has good lighting at night and high security. Scroll on down
When you arrive: at the estate you come to the main gates. Press the button and we will open automatically. Go up the drive and see the Studio on your left with its invitation to enter and make yourselves at home. Fresh flowers, a bottle of Chianti with a corkscrew and two glasses will be waiting for you for...a good start. You will also find a book giving useful instructions and information on the accommodation, recommending shops, restaurants, and transport. If you need any further help, information or advice please don't hesitate to ask at the Villa where you will be welcomed (we speak English). There is a separate laundry, with washing machines, drier and clothes lines. On your last morning you can arrange to leave your luggage in the Villa should you wish to spend more time exploring the city or do some last-minute shopping.
Arrival time is after 13:30 p.m. and departure is by 10:30 a.m.

Five minutes walk: away you have all the necessary food shops and one of the best, typical Tuscan restaurants in Florence, 'Ruggero,' which is a well-kept Florentine secret. A 10 walk takes you to the Belvedere Fort and from there to all the best sites, via the Ponte Vecchio. You can also catch a bus from either end of the street (Bus N° 11) and this will take you directly to Florence railway station Santa Maria Novella, inFlorence downtown. The seaside, with its miles of sandy beaches (Viareggio), is about an hour away, and a day trip is easily possible by train from Florence to Venice or Rome.

Don't forget that food shops in Italy: open early at 08:00 in the morning and then shut firmly from 13:00 until between 4 and 5 in the afternoon. They close in the evening around 20:00. However, there is a supermarket which is open all day. All shops are closed on Sundays, except for cake and ice-cream shops which are only open in the morning. Restaurants serve lunch from 12:00 mid-day till about 14:00, but not much later (siesta time...), and dinner at night usually between 20:00 and 22:00. Cafes and pizzerias stay open later.
I live in the Villa and it will be a pleasure for me to suggest you what to do, eat and discover in Florence and in Tuscany. Household staff (English speaking) is always in the Villa, don't hesitate to ask for any informationor advice.
I felt in love with this Villa where I can I live in Florence and enjoy nature in the same time. Come and discover this unique feature.
Visit Florence and then enjoy the freshness of the gardens and the swimming pool. You'll fall in love with this location.

To be writing this sitting in wet Watford is difficult! Warm evenings walking back to your own Studio with fire files in the dark of the night after a wonderful meal knowing you have a pool for your own use in the morning set in a wonderful garden. We have stayed here before, Dudi is most helpful and charming explaining local things and treating us more as old friends returning, Dudi lives in the villa and booked for us a cooking day with Anna Binni one of the highlights of our stay We had a week of sights in the morning and then snack sleep and then our own POOL ! :) before going out again for dinner. There is a path though the grounds which takes a short cut to Piazza Michael Angleo .Staying here is as if you are staying in a friend`s National trust property who is letting out the studio to friends .Spotless clean Air-conditioned but cool with it off as its well designed for use as an Artist work place The Studio has a bed area screened from the rest of the room facing a full bathroom with plenty of space to put all you stuff if with a prima donna daughter :) The galley kitchen has microwave and full oven and hob you could easily live here, when we came in the past it was on a longer term let and I can see why. Traditional all you need, the furniture is nice with a full table and chairs. But the Trattoria's recommended by Dudi and booked by her are to good to miss Ruggero 10 min walk was about 45 euros a head Tramvia , 20 min walk though safe area the old wall which is now car park 30 euros a head Both meals were Full Monty type meals wine anti prima second etc. and dessert wines. The Studio is set in the grounds of a fine Villa it is mid way on the gated lane which ends at the villa and pool house beyond. It is just of the main road out of Florence from The Porta Romana. I timed us, it is an 8 min walk to the Café Perarrci down and 10 min back up. we had coffee and croissant every morning there, bus tickets for Sienna - San Giminarno can be brought there and the bus stops right outside ) it is then a 10 min walk to the Ponte Vecchio and the historic centre. The buses are frequent but we walked as it is safe and more fun I hope to return soon . This place is for those of you who wish to be in Florence and get to know it better seeing the sights and crowds but escaping to your own oasis of calm before that dinner with 3 desserts and vin Santo it just is so perfectly placed just 10 min to gates in a safe beautiful part of Florence.
Une petit coin de paradis à quelques minutes du centre historique de la cité des Medicis.
Une hotesse aux petits soins.
Bref seuls les moustiques sont de trop mais prouvent que la nature est bien présente au paradis.

We had a brilliant holiday at the artists studio. The photos really don't do the property or the gardens justice.
The studio has everything you need. The main, large room with high ceiling, air conditioning, comfy beds and chairs and a dining area plus lots of guides to the area and books to read. There's also a good sized bathroom with a shower and bath and a small kitchen. Despite being small the kitchen is very well equipped and it was easy to prepare full meals there.
The grounds are large and very well kept. We loved spending time in them and swimming in the pool.
As other reviewers have mentioned there are lots of mosquitoes here. That's the only negative thing about it and is manageable if you regularly use a good repellant.
The apartment is about 25 minutes walk into town along busy roads which seemed quite a long way in the heat, but there are regular buses that are cheap and quick. It turned out to be a good thing being out of town as you really feel like you're escaping to a peaceful, tranquil place at the end of the day.
Dudi and Armanda are very welcoming and helpful and made us feel at home. We'd recommend this place to anyone visiting Florence - it's a real gem!
My family and I have just returned from a wonderful week at this property. The studio is big enough for a family of 3 and well equipped with everything that you will need for a stay in Florence. What is so special about Dudi's studio is that it is close enough to walk into Florence (10 minute walk to the city wall and another 10 to the Ponte Vecchio) but has the facilities to allow for a relaxing week by the pool too. We made the best use of the pool, the gardens and being close to Florence. Dudi made us very welcome - booked taxis for us - drove us to the supermarket. In all it was a wonderful week in a beautiful location and the only thing that stops me advising people to stay here is that I want to keep it all to myself. Thank you Dudi.
So close to Florence, yet so removed and peaceful. The property is amazing. Dudi and Armando helped to make our trip unique and exciting. Best value in Florence
A 20 minute drive from Florence airport and 10 minute taxi ride from the station, the Villa is in a quiet, leafy area of the historic centre of Florence between the Boboli Gardens and the Imperial Palace. It is within 3 minutes walk from the gates of the property to a bus stop, 5 minutes from food shops, and 10 minutes drive from the Firenze Impruneta exit on the Autostrada A1.
The property has been in the family of my cousins since the early nineteenth century. The estate is in a conservation area, protected from any further building, and therefore tranquil and secluded without being remote.
You can easily explore Florence with its narrow streets, palaces, museums and churches and its wonderful shops of international fashion designers. Then come home to rest and enjoy the calm of the garden and the pool.
