Guestbook comments from the owner

This was our 3rd time staying here and we had great wildlife adventures! The home is cozy, clean, and welcoming with great amenities. The location cannot be beat- within driving distance to great shopping, fantastic people watching, great restaurants, and 2 of the best beaches in the area.

Because the property is adjacent to a land trust preserve we were serenaded by a pack of coyotes in the night! We were greeted by wild turkeys for morning coffee and tea. And best of all the reading light is terrific! Bring your walking shoes, shopping bags, beach blankets, and good books.

This was a perfect place for our week in Kennebunk. It had everything we needed.

Our daughter's family was vacationing in Kennebunk and we were joining them. We found this and it was perfect for us. We were only 3 adults, but having the extra space was nice as we enjoyed the quite time and could each be on a different schedule. We were able to easily get to Parson's Beach, local shopping, and restaurants. We found a public area for blue berry picking and also visited other nearby towns as well as heading up to Belfast and Bar Harbor for a day. We were glad to be located away from the crowds in Kennebunkport. We appreciated the feeling of being in a cabin in the woods though we were only just off Sea Road and minutes from any thing we might need. Our weather was perfect and just cool enough for August so that we never needed to use the air conditioners. I especially enjoyed the entry "parlor" with all of its windows and that was my favorite place to enjoy my morning coffee. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed.

Leo was an attentive host, keeping in touch, checking to see that everything was fine when we arrived , again mid-week, and before we left. His directions were clear and his guest book had plenty of information for us regarding the cottage, local sightseeing and places to eat. This was our fourth trip to Kennebunk over the years and we just wish that it was not so far away from Louisiana. We hope to come back and stay again sometime soon.

An excellent choice. Less than 2 hours north of Boston.

  • 5 of 5

This cozy and quiet cottage, located in the woods between Kennebunk and Kennebunkport, is an ideal spot for an exploration of all that Southern Maine has to offer: great beaches, a variety of shopping options, fine dining and lovely scenery. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and the Wi-Fi works well. Leo is a very co-operative and helpful host, available at all times (via telephone) to answer questions and make suggestions.

Strongly recommended!

best of both worlds, great place

loved the location there was opportunity for staying on the beaches, but also convenient to shopping, hiking and historical sites. The house is bright and welcoming. We enjoyed our morning coffee while hearing song birds, then spent day at the beach. We'll be back!

What a great stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful place to stay- clean and cozy, very convenient to the beaches and Kennebunkport, equipped with everything you need. It is also in a beautiful wooded lot set back from the road, so we felt completely relaxed at night and couldn't hear any noise from neighbors or cars. The owner was responsive to all our questions and left very helpful information about the area (that is how we discovered the delicious steak and cheese subs made down the street, and the best lobster roll we've ever had...) Thanks so much for a great stay!

Access to really good coffee & shopping!

  • 4 of 5

We took a quick trip to ME to relax, eat and shop. It was perfect! We discovered Mabel's for seafood, Mornings in Paris for coffee & pastries, and many shops with great pre-season sales in Kennebunkport which is just a short drive away. This house was the perfect place to stage day trips from. The beds were comfortable and we got great sleep. And we even spent many hours on the beaches enjoying the sun and watching surfers. I can't wait to go back!

Greenfield, Ma

Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

There was still snow on the ground in April this year, but the house was warm and inviting. The living area is cozy and perfect for reading, playing board games, and even watching movies. This small cape is ideal for 1-4 adults to spend a quiet and relaxing time together. Easy access by car to great coffee, food, and beaches, especially in the shoulder and off seasons.

I'd choose this location again for it's privacy and convenience. The kitchen was fully equipped for us to prepare fantastic meals to cut costs. This is really a "home away from home."
