We live in Florida most of the year but call Maine our home most of the summer.
Jeff midlick purchased this estate in 2013
We looked in Maine for many years for the perfect property. We live in the home from June till mid Aug.We return to Florida so the kids can go back to school. We spared no expense in the furnishings and artwork because it is our home not just a vacation rental.
So many features will make you fall in love with this home and make you want to return year after year. The amazing fireplace for the cool evenings. The beautifully appointed kitchen for the discerning chefs. The basketball court the kids love. The Gazebo is a quiet place to read or gather for a drink.
The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. The views are breath taking.
Frankly the pictures don’t do this home justice; it is so much more. 10 of us stayed a week in September to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of a trip to Italy. The owners responded to my emails within 24 hours…frequently in just a few hours. The property is not directly on the beach but had ocean views from all east facing windows and access to the beach is a short walk. The kitchen is well appointed (Viking and Sub Zero appliances) and plenty of cook/bake ware, plates, glassware etc. The house forms a nook in the backyard where we spent our evenings sharing the day’s experiences and catching up. We met the little girls next door and the mom while she was tending her garden. The next day we found a pile of cherry tomatoes at the front door. The owners recommended Booth Bay Harbor (~ 1 hour drive) and it was one of our favorite destinations. It had great food and a whale watch excursion that even though we saw whales, a basking shark, porpoise and dolphins felt they had not completely delivered and gave us all standby passes for another excursion. We even ventured out in the middle of the night to shop LL Bean in Freeport (10 minute drive open 24/7). We had 3 over-sized vehicles and had no problem parking & turning around in the driveway.
My family came to the house to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday for a week and had a fantastic time. The house is gigantic and could be all one needed for a vacation with numerous amenities including a great backyard and eating area, huge kitchen fully stocked with any cooking items you may need, and the house is steps down to a rocky beach which has a great view. The house was in great shape and Jeff and Bill even had waffle mix ready to go with the waffle iron when we arrived. A trip we will not soon forget, highly recommended.
We loved staying at this beautiful home
We hosted my immediate family of 12 for my sons wedding
The space is immaculate
Large rooms and kitchen
We rented this home with a large group of friends for our wedding located nearby in Freeport. It was a perfect base for our friends and was large enough to house everyone comfortably. The kitchen was large and equipped, we were able to cook meals for everyone easily. The only disappointing thing was that there wasn't a barbecue. The owners were quick with communication and very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we had a great week and would definitely recommend this house.
We had a large family group (13 people), who came from all over the world (literally) to attend our daughter's graduation at University of New England in Portland. The home was in a lovely location, had great amenities, and was in beautiful condition! There was plenty of room for shared meals and space for everyone to have a bit of "elbow room". The home is in a quiet location that has wonderful views of the water. Our daughter and husband rose early each morning to take sunrise photos on the beach.
We live in Montana near Yellowstone Nat'l Park, so are accustomed to beautiful settings. This location and home more than met our expectations. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! We would highly recommend this to anyone who has a large family party and looking for a location to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Maine coast. Everyone in our family party was thrilled with the home and location.
Beautifully appointed hose with each room meticulously decorated and inviting. Our family celebrated a milestone birthday, 100 year make for my father-in-law. We had seven families’ converge for a 3 day stay, with the pets I might add, and the accommodations couldn’t have served us any better. The kids had plenty to keep them busy, from the yard, a walk along the shoreline, to the Wi-Fi/cable, and the game room area on the second floor. To our surprise the kitchen was nicely appointed with all the cooking utensils and items for easily preparing meals. Being located within minutes of downtown Freeport for shopping is a great feature as well. I would definitely recommend others to stay at this property as they won’t be disappointed.
Additionally, the rental process and communications back and forth with Jeff were timely and helped to make the process that much easier.
