About Jeff midlick

We live in Florida most of the year but call Maine our home most of the summer.

Jeff midlick purchased this estate in 2013

Why Jeff midlick chose Portland and Casco Bay Area

We looked in Maine for many years for the perfect property. We live in the home from June till mid Aug.We return to Florida so the kids can go back to school. We spared no expense in the furnishings and artwork because it is our home not just a vacation rental.

What makes this estate unique

So many features will make you fall in love with this home and make you want to return year after year. The amazing fireplace for the cool evenings. The beautifully appointed kitchen for the discerning chefs. The basketball court the kids love. The Gazebo is a quiet place to read or gather for a drink.

The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. The views are breath taking.

Loved It

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 14 had a wonderful time at Taj Maquoit. Kids played badminton in the backyard. We cooked lobsters in the kitchen and grilled vegetables on the grill. We brought our kayaks and kayaked to Seal Island. We took a daytrip to Portland. We shopped at LL Bean. We ate at many wonderful restaurants. We ate big meals and played Hearts at the big table. We played Hearts at the small table. We loved the house. A wonderful vacation. We recommend it highly.

Fabulous vacation home in Freeport

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family of 6 adults and 4 children had a marvelous week's vacation in this lovely, spacious home, enjoying the beauty both indoors and out. We loved the proximity to the water, with beautiful views and many spots to enjoy them. The kitchen was very well stocked, the beds comfortable, and the hosts prompt in responding to questions or needs. We enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and cycling, and hope to return in the future to this very scenic area.

Gorgeous, large home with beautiful decor, full amenities, and views of the ocean

  • 5 of 5

This home is truly a work of art! The architecture and layout of the house is fabulous and the decor and artwork through the house is so beautiful and provides an activity in itself to discover and admire. Unlike any home we've ever rented, the owners have made this home a true expedience. The house is very large and can comfortably accommodate multiple families. The top floor provides a fun and unique room perfect for a family or multiple older kids with multiple beds, incredible views, and a beautiful winding staircase. The main floor of bedrooms has different sections offering separate locations for multiple families with living areas to hang out and a walkout patio. And the main floor offers open and expansive living spaces where many people can hang out together or separately. The gourmet kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals at home but there are multiple fun restaurants close by as well. The yard is great for outdoor gatherings with multiple patio/decks, outdoor furniture, and a wonderful gazebo. They live on a quiet road with a short walk to the water and nice neighbors, great for walking or biking. It is an easy drive to Freeport with many fun restaurants and shopping or Brunswick, home of Bowdoin College. Jeff was a pleasure to work with and was very responsive in our communications. He is clearly passionate about their home and providing a wonderful experience for guests.

Beautiful Home, well equiped and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our visit. The house is truly beautiful, the great room is very comfortable and inviting offering areas to read by the fire, watch TV or play games at a table. The decor throughout was lovely.

The kitchen was well equipped for the meal preparation and serving for all of us. The two ovens, professional stove, large refrigerator and extensive collection of dishes, cups, glasses, etc. were more than adequate for Thanksgiving Dinner for 20.

The sleeping arrangements including three bathrooms and a powder room worked well. The number of bedrooms, den with fold out couch, family bunk/trundle area and third level "crows nest" quarters fit our large family of 12 adults and 8 teenagers extremely well. All were accommodated in beds with no crowding. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated.

One of the features we loved was that there was space in the closets and bedroom drawers to unpack, the fridge was empty so lots of room for the food we brought, and the pantry had space as well. There is space for hanging coats, scarves, etc. near the door. (We have found this to not be true in all Air B & B type accommodations.) We felt fully welcome to "move in" to enjoy and utilize the facilities.

We were surprised to find the house was not "on the water" as one of the pictures inferred. However the access to the beach was just a very short walk down the road and the ocean and islands were in view from the house - especially from the upstairs. We were there in November so the gardens were past, but it was obvious that they are lovely in season with outdoor seating and gazebo and the boys did enjoy playing basketball.

We would highly recommend vacationing here and hope to return with our family again in the future. We all loved our stay.
