We live in Florida most of the year but call Maine our home most of the summer.
Jeff midlick purchased this estate in 2013
We looked in Maine for many years for the perfect property. We live in the home from June till mid Aug.We return to Florida so the kids can go back to school. We spared no expense in the furnishings and artwork because it is our home not just a vacation rental.
So many features will make you fall in love with this home and make you want to return year after year. The amazing fireplace for the cool evenings. The beautifully appointed kitchen for the discerning chefs. The basketball court the kids love. The Gazebo is a quiet place to read or gather for a drink.
The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. The views are breath taking.
Great location. Fantastic views. Very responsive owners. Overall an amazing experience. I would return and highly recommend to anyone.
We very much enjoyed our visit. The house is truly beautiful, the great room is very comfortable and inviting offering areas to read by the fire, watch TV or play games at a table. The decor throughout was lovely.
The kitchen was well equipped for the meal preparation and serving for all of us. The two ovens, professional stove, large refrigerator and extensive collection of dishes, cups, glasses, etc. were more than adequate for Thanksgiving Dinner for 20.
The sleeping arrangements including three bathrooms and a powder room worked well. The number of bedrooms, den with fold out couch, family bunk/trundle area and third level "crows nest" quarters fit our large family of 12 adults and 8 teenagers extremely well. All were accommodated in beds with no crowding. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated.
One of the features we loved was that there was space in the closets and bedroom drawers to unpack, the fridge was empty so lots of room for the food we brought, and the pantry had space as well. There is space for hanging coats, scarves, etc. near the door. (We have found this to not be true in all Air B & B type accommodations.) We felt fully welcome to "move in" to enjoy and utilize the facilities.
We were surprised to find the house was not "on the water" as one of the pictures inferred. However the access to the beach was just a very short walk down the road and the ocean and islands were in view from the house - especially from the upstairs. We were there in November so the gardens were past, but it was obvious that they are lovely in season with outdoor seating and gazebo and the boys did enjoy playing basketball.
We would highly recommend vacationing here and hope to return with our family again in the future. We all loved our stay.

My husband and I were recently married. We have five children and a set of parents between us, all of whom live in different states. We envisioned a family weekend where our children, their families, and our parents could meet and spend a warm and memorable wedding weekend with us. This property provided the perfect setting. The common area was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully appointed and the commercial kitchen was a pleasure to work in. There were enough bedrooms for each family to have a private space. We spent the majority of the weekend at home, prepared and ate all our meals there, and even held the wedding ceremony in front of the lovely stone fireplace. It was a perfect weekend full of beautiful memories made all the more possible by this beautiful home.
Frankly the pictures don’t do this home justice; it is so much more. 10 of us stayed a week in September to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of a trip to Italy. The owners responded to my emails within 24 hours…frequently in just a few hours. The property is not directly on the beach but had ocean views from all east facing windows and access to the beach is a short walk. The kitchen is well appointed (Viking and Sub Zero appliances) and plenty of cook/bake ware, plates, glassware etc. The house forms a nook in the backyard where we spent our evenings sharing the day’s experiences and catching up. We met the little girls next door and the mom while she was tending her garden. The next day we found a pile of cherry tomatoes at the front door. The owners recommended Booth Bay Harbor (~ 1 hour drive) and it was one of our favorite destinations. It had great food and a whale watch excursion that even though we saw whales, a basking shark, porpoise and dolphins felt they had not completely delivered and gave us all standby passes for another excursion. We even ventured out in the middle of the night to shop LL Bean in Freeport (10 minute drive open 24/7). We had 3 over-sized vehicles and had no problem parking & turning around in the driveway.
My family came to the house to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday for a week and had a fantastic time. The house is gigantic and could be all one needed for a vacation with numerous amenities including a great backyard and eating area, huge kitchen fully stocked with any cooking items you may need, and the house is steps down to a rocky beach which has a great view. The house was in great shape and Jeff and Bill even had waffle mix ready to go with the waffle iron when we arrived. A trip we will not soon forget, highly recommended.
