Book now for Summer 2017. Or, visit this fall - only $1000 for a three-day weekend - and enjoy one of Ocean Grove's charming events: http://www.oceangrovenj.com/events.html
Our four bedroom beach house sleeps up to 8. It's perfect for a family or even two.
Between 2008 and 2014, this house was our primary residence, and as such it can truly feel like you are home when you stay here. Some of the unique things that distinguish our house from many other beach homes in Ocean Grove include:
*Central air: This was a big thing for me when we bought the house - I was very pregnant and very hot
*A whole house water filter: We installed this in 2008 because I wanted our family showering and bathing in water that is free from chemicals; you can get filtered water to drink from any sink
*Fully-equipped kitchen: New appliances, including a dishwasher and garbage disposal
*Washer and dryer: If you visit for an extended stay you have the convenience of doing your laundry anytime...no need to waste precious beach or napping time at the laundromat!
In addition, our house features:
*A nice open layout which has a great flow for spending time together or socializing
*Two full baths which is helpful with larger groups
*Plenty of indoor storage: Closets in every room plus a coat closet which is good for towels and beach bags
*Super Fast Internet + WiFi: Brag to your co-workers how you are going to the beach after the conference call
*40" television: Because we would never expect you to miss American Idol or Storage Wars or whatever guilty TV-watching pleasure you may have
*All new furniture as of May 2015 from an epic visit to IKEA
*Brand new mattresses which are comfortable because we have enough integrity to not ask you to sleep on a matterss that we wouln't sleep on ourselves
*A lower front porch where you can hang out when you feel socialable or if you want to dine al fresco
*An upper front porch for when you want private time or feel like napping (can you tell I am a big napper?) - the top porch gets a great breeze off the ocean and is accessble from two of the four berdooms
*Private back patio, which has room for a group dinner or to star-gaze in privacy at night, one of my favorite things to do when we lived there
*A full shed for storing all of your outdoor gear
Please note: We provide six beach chairs, a beach umbrella and a beach cart to carry all of your stuff on the 5-minute walk to the beach; we also provide six beach badges
All of this in our favorite neighborhood in town (this was our second Ocean Grove house so we know of what we speak):
*This neighborhood is off the beaten path, so it's quiet and the streets are lovely and tree-lined
*Short walk to the beach through the most charming section of Ocean Grove
*A 3-minute walk to Main Ave in Ocean Grove, where the boutiques, cafes and ice cream shops are located - please visit the Cheese Shop and tell Susan that Matt and Jen sent you
*A 2-minute walk to downtown Asbury Park (over the footbridge which is around the corner from our house), which has a group of fantastic restaurants as well as shopping and coffee shops - this is where we spent most of our time when we lived in this house - please visit The Showroom independent movie theater and tell Mike and Nancy that Jen Crews sent you
*A 2 minute walk to Cowerks, one of NJ's best coworking spaces where you can go and do work while your family is at the beach and you can feel annoyed about it but at least know that you can meet them as soon as you are done - please tell Bret and Danny that Jen Crews sent you
*A 2-minute walk to the new beer garden in Asbury Park which has a rooftop bar and has been a huge hit - a great place to hang out - you can't tell anyone that I sent you because they just opened and I have only been there once
*A 10-minute walk to the Asbury Park boardwalk, which has mini-golf and a water/splash park for kids (and adults as well, if they are the kind of adults who like having water dumped on their heads like my husband does)
*A 7-minute walk to a train to NYC (my husband commuted to NYC four days per week for six years from this house - it's very doable if you are thinking of a long-term rental)
We love this house so much that we are planning to stay here ourselves this summer, even though we only live a half hour away in Red Bank.
We rent by the week and are happy to provide discounts to people who want to stay longer. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions.
Much love, Jennifer
PS: This house is also available for a winter rental....my favorite time of year in Ocean Grove because you have the place all to yourself!
We had a great stay at Matt and Jennifer's place. They were very accommodating and welcoming with great communication before and during our stay. The place itself looks even better than the pictures. It is not fancy but very comfortable, extremely clean, and well equipped. The bedrooms are small, which is typical of these historic houses, but the downstairs living space was very roomy. There were plenty of linens and towels and they even provided beach towels, chairs, a beach cart, and 6 beach badges.
The location is excellent. It was great being so close to downtown Asbury and all the good restaurants and only a few blocks from downtown Ocean Grove and the auditorium. The house has two porches with porch swings and a cute back patio area with a charcoal grill (they even had coals for us).
I highly recommend and would rent again!
This house is perfectly situated between the main street in Asbury Park and the main street in Ocean Grove. We like to go to Ocean Grove for ice cream and shopping, and Asbury Park is great for restaurants and nightlife.
