The cabin was a very good fit for our trip, and the cost was very reasonable. We had 10 guys and only one had to take a couch - everyone else had their own bed. The cabin was clean and had all the necessary bedding. It was nice to not have to front a large security deposit and to only have to pay 30% in advance of 30 days. Walmart is only a mile away, and it is a quick cab/shuttle to a few bars. We were able to rent a pontoon and beach it at the lake access. The only thing I would suggest to the owner is to stock firewood. We ended up calling someone on craigslist to deliver a half face cord for $55. Not a terrible deal. Will definitely stay again in the future.
My fraternity rented the property for our bi-annual weekend retreat, and the place turned out to be almost perfect for us! The house is split such that there are two common areas, one on each side of the house, with bedrooms in the middle separating the two ends. This ended up being ideal, so that we could use one common area for the folks that wanted to get rowdy, while the other side stayed relatively quiet for everyone who wanted to spend the night talking/playing board games/etc.
The only negative about the property was a couple instances of the plumbing backing up into the showers, but it was only dishwater (so nothing too gross/dangerous), and the property manager was very apologetic, and said she would be fixing the situation before the next rental group arrived.
All in all, the property isn't spotless, and it feels a little lived in, but if you're looking for a chance to kick back without worrying about the little details, it could be the place you're looking for
This property is large, but not close enough to the water to warrant the rental fee. The yard had garbage strewn around it and the inside was adequate at best. Neither of the fridges even had bottom drawers in them! I'll stop there because we did have a good time despite our surroundings.
Had a great time, great cabin definitely will be back next year
We had a great time - the cabin is huge, had cable (no wifi), nice backyard for bonfires. Just know what you are renting. It looks exactly like the pictures. It is a close walk to the water. And there is a gas station and ice cream parlor just up the street.
My family was in town for a funeral and we needed a place big enough to sleep 14 people, on short notice in March. This place definitely had more than enough room to accommodate us. My mom uses a walker so another thing that was nice was it is one level with two bathrooms (though one is awkwardly placed connecting the two sides of the cabin). The place was tidy and it provides linens, pillows, and towels as well as minimal dishes to cook and eat with but it definitely gives of a frat house type of feel or as mentioned, a place perfect for hunting groups so we ate out instead. My brother was going to sleep on one of the pull out couches but when he opened it, it was ducked taped together and there was something that appeared to look like blood on it. Compared to other places we have rented in the area it was not as nice or modern and it is a bit on the expensive side but it has more than enough room to sleep a group of 20 people (especially if you bring air mattresses) so if you're splitting the cost it would be very affordable for everyone.
I definitely wouldn't stay here again with my family but if I was younger (like still in college) and hanging out with a bunch of friends, it's not a terrible option for it's space and location (close to the lake and all the restaurants/stores).
