We had a great stay with the 6 of us over thanksgiving. The pics of the house does not do justice to the great space inside our out. The owner kind of has it all together, but does not do a very good job in communicating the layout of the house, instructions of small things like bring your own firewood, hook up to Internet with the code located at the back of the router, key instructions in detail. However if you are not to uptight it's a wonderful place and the price reflects the relaxed owner.
We really enjoyed our stay at the property. We were in the area visiting our son who was stationed at the USMC base in Twentynine Palms. My husband enjoyed the incredible star gazing (other than the full moon, which we can't control). The house had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. In addition, the owner was very accommodating when we asked to arrive a day early.
I took my family here for Mothers Day weekend and had a absolute blast. We were surprised how nice this place was. The pictures in the listing need to be updated to the remodel upgrades that have been done. We have two small children (3 and 5) which loved all the space to run and explore. A perfect camp fire area for sunset and evenings located right off the large patio was a great place to spend some time. Looking forward to returning here soon.
The drive into the park was not bad at all. We drove into the park both days with no issues at all.
This place is awesome. It's WAY out in the middle of nowhere so know that before you go. Get there during the day. This place could be tough to find at night. I loved how quiet it was out there. I took my two boys (6yr & 13yr) out there and they loved it as well! The house itself is great! Loved the big patio! We hung up a hammock and all took turns chillaxing. The weather was perfect for it. The interior is much nicer than the pictures show. The main bedroom was very nice but my two boys opted to sleep upstairs in the loft which was pretty cool. The bathroom downstairs was clean and very nice. The living room is spacious and has a giant couch to relax on after a day of playing in the desert. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. You'll definitely want to pick up groceries before you get here though. It's a bit of a trek to go to the store once you have arrived. I have stayed at a lot of Joshua Tree HomeAway's and this is definietly one of my favs. The place is spacious and clean. The internet works very well (we streamed movies on our tablets). It's a very relaxing place with lots of room indoors and out. Neighbors are far enough away to forget they are even there. There's a firepit in the front of the house that we used each night we were there. That was really cool and my kids loved roasting marshmallows over the fire. Both of my kids were disappointed when we had to leave and asked if we could stay a few more days :)
When we arrived to the house, it appeared that it had not been cleaned since the last guest. There were dirty towels and bed linens on the floor near the washing machine and the beds had no linens. The restroom was very dirty, the whole house needed to be swept, and in general the house was filthy. We immediately sent the owner a message via VRBO and contacted him by phone the next morning. He said he was going to try to get a cleaning person to come out and clean the house for us but after I called him back a few hours later he said he could not get anybody to clean the house. He then text me and told me he would refund me the price of my stay if we call it even. We took him up on the offer because we really couldn't get another place on such short notice and spent a few hours cleaning the house. Since our stay, I have sent him several messages about the status of our refund. Twice he said that he is working on my refund but it is now almost four weeks later and still no refund. I paid a cleaning fee for a dirty house that I had to clean myself.
We loved that the house was off a dirt road.Great place to ride motorcycles, enjoy the campfire, and appreciate the quiet. The bedroom was roomy, upstairs was an added space, but inconvenient to lug stuff up the ladder, would of liked another room,as we had thought their was one in addition to bedroom/loft.Would of liked the place a bit cleaner, needed to clean counters and sweep floors, wash rugs before I could put our stuff away.Location was wonderful and exactly what we were looking for.Over all enjoyed are stay-
