The entire experience from booking through communicating with the owner was easy. The house was clean and had everything we needed during our trip. The owner, Tim, was very friendly and was reachable by phone when we needed to call him. The house was ideal for our needs: a clean roomy home close enough to the local sites yet off the beaten path to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the desert. We would certainly go back again! Two items to note: 1) the lock box combo for the keys did not work. Fortunately the owner had a backup key available. 2) the house instructions sent on booking approval stated there was no WiFi code on the internet, when actually there is. The code is located on the wireless router.
Very clean. Was everything I expected. Would book again in a heartbeat.
We had a great stay with the 6 of us over thanksgiving. The pics of the house does not do justice to the great space inside our out. The owner kind of has it all together, but does not do a very good job in communicating the layout of the house, instructions of small things like bring your own firewood, hook up to Internet with the code located at the back of the router, key instructions in detail. However if you are not to uptight it's a wonderful place and the price reflects the relaxed owner.
We really enjoyed our stay at the property. We were in the area visiting our son who was stationed at the USMC base in Twentynine Palms. My husband enjoyed the incredible star gazing (other than the full moon, which we can't control). The house had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. In addition, the owner was very accommodating when we asked to arrive a day early.
I took my family here for Mothers Day weekend and had a absolute blast. We were surprised how nice this place was. The pictures in the listing need to be updated to the remodel upgrades that have been done. We have two small children (3 and 5) which loved all the space to run and explore. A perfect camp fire area for sunset and evenings located right off the large patio was a great place to spend some time. Looking forward to returning here soon.
The drive into the park was not bad at all. We drove into the park both days with no issues at all.
This place is awesome. It's WAY out in the middle of nowhere so know that before you go. Get there during the day. This place could be tough to find at night. I loved how quiet it was out there. I took my two boys (6yr & 13yr) out there and they loved it as well! The house itself is great! Loved the big patio! We hung up a hammock and all took turns chillaxing. The weather was perfect for it. The interior is much nicer than the pictures show. The main bedroom was very nice but my two boys opted to sleep upstairs in the loft which was pretty cool. The bathroom downstairs was clean and very nice. The living room is spacious and has a giant couch to relax on after a day of playing in the desert. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. You'll definitely want to pick up groceries before you get here though. It's a bit of a trek to go to the store once you have arrived. I have stayed at a lot of Joshua Tree HomeAway's and this is definietly one of my favs. The place is spacious and clean. The internet works very well (we streamed movies on our tablets). It's a very relaxing place with lots of room indoors and out. Neighbors are far enough away to forget they are even there. There's a firepit in the front of the house that we used each night we were there. That was really cool and my kids loved roasting marshmallows over the fire. Both of my kids were disappointed when we had to leave and asked if we could stay a few more days :)
