Classic house in Old Strathcona in Edmonton right off Whyte avenue

The listing is a 756 sq foot ,two bedroom upper floor of a vintage Old Strathcona house.

It's located in the Provincial historic area of Old Strathcona and is within walking distance to hundreds of fantastic restaurants and interesting shops and markets.
Whyte Ave ,the main business street is a rocks throw away.

The house is a 5 minute drive to downtown Edmonton,or a 8-10 minute bus ride firm the corner.
Guests can also catch one bus all the way to west Edmonton mall from the corner.

The house is old and while updated is worn on places with etchings from use.
and has little inconsequential things that are not perfect but will not impact the comfort of your stay🙂.
For example 1 light out of 10 in an area may not work. A couple baseboards are loose in inconspicuous areas. If this bothers you and you're the type of guest that ignores the multitude of amenities the house offers at a fantastic price,and trash my listing over these types of issues then please don't book my house 🙂

However it has some very cool features and upgrades as listed below.

-Whole home filtered water ,which includes the shower and taps. Toxins like chlorine and lead,etc are filtered.

-Whole home hepa air filtration and a newer high efficiency furnace .
-new central Air conditioning

-70 inch smart t.v with several streaming channels.
-Electric reclining natuzzi leather couch.
-archive photos and vintage travel posters throughout the house.
-New stove.
-Large fridge
-Ample storage and household cooking items.

-Nice front yard with old tree lines street with a bike lane runs in front of the house.
- A bench with a cushion is provided and a deck with tables and chairs will be added spring 2024.
There is also a bistro table for warmer weather

-Mill Creek ravine and the Edmonton river valley are 3 blocks away. World class trails and bike paths in a park 20x bigger than central park.
(Bikes to loan will be made available spring 2024)

Probably would have been a nice stay but booking cancelled by owner as double booked
I arrived and contacted the owner to be granted access. After a few attempts, he answered and informed that the property was double booked and our money would be refunded and we needed to find another place to stay. He then hung up on me. It was -14 outside, 6:00pm and dark! I then spent an hour with VRBO customer service on the phone in my car and ended up having to find a hotel. The food I bought for dinner and breakfast to make at the VRBO rental froze in the car as there wasn’t storage at the hotel and we had to pay to eat out. I had a confirmed and paid booking and have stayed in VRBO all over the world so hardly expected this type of experience-I have received my refund but the owner’s claim of “double booking” says the owner didn’t pay attention to dates and was using another service to rent his property. I had connected with the owner prior to our arrival 3 days before and all was in order. We were left to foot the bill for extra meals, another accommodation space and left literally out in the cold. The property looks amazing and I was genuinely gutted as I was looking forward to our stay. I can’t rate the experience because it was not afforded to us in the first place.
