About Rhonda Thomas

Rhonda and David enjoy the outdoors and find this house to be their escape from the hustle and bustle of their real estate careers. After hiking the Appalachian Trail after college, David became a real estate developer and Rhonda is the owner of a real estate company. They both hope you enjoy this home as much as they do.

Rhonda Thomas purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Rhonda Thomas chose North Georgia Mountains

It's a one of a kind property. Only our neighbors across the creek and us have both Hothouse Creek and Toccoa River frontage. Hothouse creek is a stocked creek and the Toccoa is known throughout the trout fishing industry as one of the best in the United States. In fact, Fannin County is designated as the Trout Capital of Georgia. That says it all!

What makes this cabin unique

From the property, you can be at Horseshoe Bend park via water within a two hour ride downstream. This estate is also located within a 15 minute drive time to the Ocoee River, which is known for its Olympic whitewater events.

This is the definition of RETREAT

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at Rhonda's river retreat...This property is all about LOCATION on large corner lot with several acres to play on, hiking trails, and the water steps from the front door. Between Hot House Creek and the Taccoa River, the kids and honey had constant access to the water; fishing, kayaking, splashing, etc. (Canoe provided!) with 180 degree views of it all from the sprawling front deck. The deck had everything you needed to take the day outdoors; Large comfy seating, multiple seating areas, etc.

We were able to relax, kick back, enjoy the breeze coming off the water, while the kids burned off energy.

The interior was nicely appointed and spacious. We can't wait to return!

What an amazing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This property was amazing! It was perfect for our family. The dogs were able to swim and roam on the large flat property. The house was great. We so loved sitting out on the huge deck in the evenings and cooking and having dinner. A great getaway. It was harder to get to than expected but that ended up being a plus. The only thing that we didn't love was the bed was not comfortable. That wouldn't stop us from coming back though. We loved it!!!!

Quiet and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We spent most of our time out on the deck watching the ducks and geese play around in the yard and in the water. The spot where the creek meets the river was obviously a good fishing spot because the fly fishing guides would all fish there. It was neat to watch the train rolling by in the late morning. The house was nice and clean and fully equipped for our stay. Overall it was a great property. And ideal spot with beautiful views.

GREAT LOCATION but Cabin wasn't ready for people.

  • 3 of 5

Positives: Great location, secluded, trout fishing, plenty of space for two people...not much more since second bathroom has no shower. Clean and cozy.

Negatives: Wireless Internet only worked on the first day. Service provider issue, very frustrating with rainy weather. Water was not turned on for the dishwasher or washing machine. Gas fireplace shut off after 10 minutes of use. There were other fisherman loading their boat into the river on this property...they made it see like a regular occurrence.

We enjoyed our stay but could have used a couple of tweaks to make it better.

Beautiful Property!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was perfect! The river front was exactly what we were hoping for. We were able to fish, and enjoy the serenity of the river. The yard was spacious and a great space for the kids to play. The cabin was clean and furnished nicely. The kitchen had everything we could have needed to prepare our meals. We rode the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, visited Mercier Orchards, and played at nearby Horshoe Bend Park. We would definitely love to return to this cabin again!!!
