The unit was in a nice location, but needs work.

The layout and the kitchen was very nice but the furnishings were dirty, broken and very little seating for a unit that sleeps 12. The television and satellite equipment is ancient and was not working at all while we were there. The plumbing in one of the toilets was not reliable, and the terrace with view had old rusty metal furniture, and we were told it was unusable. Other than that, this unit has potential but has been neglected by the owner.

Great location, however the propery is a bit tired.

We love the location of this property and took advantage of the good weather walking through the Castro, Noe Valley and Mission neighborhoods. I was concerned about parking but was able to find spaces that worked nearby. The unit itself was very clean and the beds were comfortable.

I think that the building is in need of painting - our first impression was that it looked run down. We also were surprised that there were so many steps leading up to our unit, so it might not be suitable for older folks. The photos in the listing are misleading in that they show views where there is now a building - these photos are of the kitchen and upstairs bedroom. In addition, the door to the deck with the gorgeous view is now permanently locked so there is no access to this outside area. Finally, for the first two nights of our stay there was some loud partying going on downstairs until the wee hours of the morning. When I mentioned this to the owner he said that we should have called him immediately. I didn't think to do this, but also was not told to do so.

Business is business

We arrived at 2.00pm when check in was at 4.00pm so I asked Patty if there was a possibility for us 5 (amongst us 2 ladies ages 80 and 73) just to pop in to leave or luggage and come back after 4.00 The answer was yes but the cost would be of 50$ !!!!! "it is for the inconvenience of the house keeper, since she has to work around the luggage" !!!

I doubt the housekeeper got a cent from this money.

Nevertheless I must say we enjoyed the house which was exaclty as we expected, with a fantastic view, charming neighbourhood, shops 10mn walking. Reaching dowtown takes a bit of time but we knew that before renting the apartment. It was not a problem for us.

Bedding was very confortable.

Now a few things I wouldn't have mentioned if I hadn't had pay this extra charge:

we kept the toilet doorhandle in hand when closing door. We had the same problem with the tap handle, same room. The pans handles were sticky and a there were a few stains on the walls probably left by travellers luggage as well as some handprints.

The facade needs to be repainted, the painting is peeling (one can consider it gives charm to the property).

We have never met the person in charge of the property nor the owner.

As foreign tourists we were quite nervous to go through the terrible formalities but Patty almost did everything for us. She replied to every email in time, helped us with the agreement paperwork, and tolerated our frequently changed visiting plan.

Everything of the home far exceeded our expectation: the fabulous sight, nice taste of decoration, and the ample space (there were 12 of us and all had cozy beds to sleep). It is a quiet community so it is perfect for exhausted tourists. Thanks to Patty, we did feel at home in San Francisco.

As a group of foreign tourists we were quite nervous to go through the terrible formalities but Patty almost did everything for us. She answered every email in time, tolerating our frequently changed visit plan, and helped us with the paperwork and paypal stuff.

The rent was quite reasonable -- especially for the fabulous sight, nice-flavored decoration and the ample space (there were 12 of us and we all had cozy beds to sleep). It is a quiet community so this home is perfect for exhausted visitors. Thank you so much, Patty. We really felt at home.

Way better than I could even imagine!

A few of my friends and family stayed here, and it was even better than I expected! You never know how pictures translate into reality, but everything lived up to my expectations and more so! The view was breath taking and they even had tea stuff for us. Plenty of bath towels and small comforts that your own home has. Loved it and I would recommend this to all my out of town friends who come and visit.
