As its name suggests, Refuge is the place to go for a ‘get-away-from-it-all’ vacation. Private and peaceful, it’s ideally suited to families, couples and small groups of friends looking for a stylish retreat with direct access to a virgin beach. Just 60 feet up from the white sands and turquoise waters of Brewer’s Bay, this lovely 3-bedroom beach villa feels remote and exclusive, even though it’s within easy reach of the neighborhood shops and restaurants.
On either side of the upper-level entry foyer are two bedroom suites: a king master suite with its own kitchenette and a two-twin bed suite. A curved staircase leads to The Refuge's main level, with the kitchen, dining area and great room on one side and the second king master suite on the other. In the middle is a powder room and French doors which open out to a small deck graced by chaise lounges and the refreshing plunge pool with unobstructed views across the bay.
The high-ceilinged, comfortable Great Room rests at the heart of this contemporary villa. Cushioned sofas and chairs invite you to gather and relax, and a 42-inch flat screen cable TV, DVD player and iPod dock are cued up, ready for your entertainment. Tall French doors open out to a furnished, oceanview verandah and the pool alcove, perfect for admiring simmering sunsets. You’ll find everything you need for preparing delicious meals and snacks in the sleek modern kitchen and you can choose whether to enjoy your feast in the dining area or al fresco on the covered terrace overlooking the ocean.
All that fresh sea air is bound to make you sleepy and you can look forward to a sound night’s sleep in one of three comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Alfresco rain showers, deep tubs, flat screen TVs and access to private patios and verandahs are just some of the luxuries that will make your stay at Refuge so memorable. The two-twin suite, artfully designed in loft fashion, looks down into the Great Room, its high window perfectly framing Brewer’s Bay beyond. Doors across the loft wall can be closed for privacy.
Follow the short nature trail right down to the soft sandy beach where you can swim, stroll or go snorkeling off the nearby reef. If you’re tempted to travel further afield, it’s a short drive to local shops and restaurants and the island’s other treasures are easily discoverable by car.

Great villa, amazing views the most amazing private beach on earth.
If you looking for service Tortola is not the place.
Tortola will give you virgin beaches and adventurous driving.
Tortola and its surrounding island like Virgin Gorda, Van dike island, are most populated between October to January. If you choose to go any other month The island is pretty much for your self.
The villa was lovely...the access to the beach was a big plus for us. We enjoyed our stay in the home. A few issue with the house and manager left us with a bit of an uneasy feeling a price for value.
The home was all we had expected. We fell in love with Brewers Bay as well as the house. We had an opportunity to visit all of the beaches on Tortola and were glad that we were staying in Brewers Bay! We will be returning to Tortola in the future and would love to stay at the Refuge again! We would also use Luxury Retreats for any other trips we plan as everyone was extremely friendly and helpful!!
My husband and I stayed at Refuge for a week in April/May 2013. We were specifically looking for a get-away-from-it-all vacation, and that's exactly what we found at this beautiful villa. The location is incredibly quiet and remote feeling, even though you're only a short drive away from restaurants, grocery, etc.
The entire house was immaculate - I was impressed with how clean it was. The a/c throughout the house worked perfectly. The wifi Internet access also worked well the entire week. Everything we needed for preparing meals was found in the stocked kitchen. The plunge pool is perfect for cooling off and enjoying the unobstructed view of the bay. The highlight of the villa for us was the short nature trail down to the nearly-private beach. The long stretch of beach below Refuge is soft sand with plenty of shade or sun.
I'd highly recommend Refuge to families, couples, small groups of friends, and anyone who is looking for a truly peaceful place to stay.
We had a great experience with the Luxury Retreat staff and Celiene was very helpful. We did have some issues when we arrived, while we did hear from Ira the home specialist, she could not meet with us, nor could the car people. When we got to the dock a lady did meet us, showed us to our car, but the car had no map and less than 1/4 of a tank of gas. That left us on a Sunday with a empty tank warning and with no map, hard to get around. On Monday, when Ira arrived with the cleaning crew, she helped us out and we followed one of the crew right to a gas station. As for the house itself, it was just fantastic, only not being able to set up the XBOX was a tiny dissapointment. The other disappointment was the steps/slop to our beach, which the owner said was "gentle" for my 81 year old mother in law, was a very steep slope. But again, small issues, by the end of the trip all agreed that we loved the house, loved Tortola, and definately want to return!
