Wenatchee is known as the Apple Capital of the World and is surrounded by many apple, pear and cherry orchards. In the springtime when the trees are in bloom, Wenatchee becomes a valley of flowering trees. Don't miss the Apple Blossom Festival in May. Wenatchee is also an outdoor paradise with Spectacular Golf, Wine Tasting (more than 30 wineries within a half hour drive), River Rafting, Boating, Jet Skiing, Water Skiing, Wake Boarding, Hang Gliding, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Mushroom Hunting, Small and Big Game Hunting, Fishing, SnowMobiling, Snow Boarding, Snow Skiing.....there are so many things to do its impossible to list them all. There are now over 30 wineries within a half hour drive of Wenatchee. Many of these wineries are now producing award winning wines with a number of 90+ ratings from the Winespectator. A few of the wineries offer a weekend summer concert series of events. More than 1,000 acres planted in wine grapes comprise what is now known as the Columbia Cascades viticultural region. Tour the vineyards and tasting rooms along the shores of North Central Washington's many lakes and rivers, and on into the foothills of the majestic Cascade Range. Stunning views accompany you along the way, and at each stop you are rewarded with award winning wines.
Mission Ridge is where jagged peaks of the Cascade Range meet the high rugged desert of Eastern Washington. A volcanic past has created a ridge where snowcapped peaks shimmer on one side and the Columbia River rolls majestically on the other. But don't let the views distract you; Mission Ridge has over 2000 acres to explore. Carve tree lined groomers, float through wide-open bowls, wiggle through glades, or scream down narrow chutes. Without a doubt, Washington's Premier Ski Resort!
The Wenatchee Valley now offers an abundant selection of great golf courses including championship courses as well as local community courses. Some of the most well known are: Desert Canyon, Chelan Municipal, Bear Mountain, The Highlander, Wenatchee Golf & Country Club, Three Lakes, Khaler Glen, Leavenworth Municipal, and Cresent Bar. With 300+ days of sunshine and reasonable green fees, Wenatchee makes for a great weekend & golf getaway.
A very comfortable stay for seven adults and two children. The large kitchen accommodated 3 chefs with lots of elbow room and the projection screen tv was a hit with the kids. The private setting of the hottub along with the high Country field views were enjoyed by all. Half an hour to Leavenworth keeps you out of the tourist fray, but close enough enjoy. Well appointed, comfortable and up to date.
The house was beautiful, spotless, and comfortable. We made dinner at the house every night. We sat outside in the backyard for an hour or two every night and watched the Perseid meteor showers. I saw well over 50 meteors over the three nights we stayed. The neighborhood is quiet, with no streetlights and the backyard is bordered by the undeveloped rolling hillside of Badger Mountain. This made stargazing ideal. We also saw a great horned owl fly into the yard one evening. We used the hot tub a couple nights, but it was too hot outside to stay in for very long. We enjoyed many croquet games and played frisbee in the backyard in the daylight hours. This was an amazing family vacation for us. We put our daughter on the Empire Builder train in Edmonds with her grandparents around 5pm. They rode in the scenic upper car and were able to have a sit down dinner on the train before being dropped off at the Amtrak station in Wenatchee around 9pm. Rantz Airlines offers scenic flights out of Wenatchee Pangborne Airport and my father and husband took an amazing trip over Dry Falls and the Missoula Flood Plains. We enjoyed many wonderful restaurants for lunch in Wenatchee during our stay and did most of our grocery shopping at Pybus Public Market. We had lots of time to relax, and there were many other activities that we didn't have time for. The produce was perfect as it was the height of the harvest season. August is a great time to visit Wenatchee, and it is a really great place to spend a few days with family catching up and hanging out.
Thank you for letting us rent your home for our weekend in Wenatchee. We loved walking into a clean and well air-conditioned home after our day. The home had everything we needed. We loved having dinner in the back yard, there is a wonderful table that is set down overlooking the ravine. We were very happy with this house and would stay here again.
Shannon was friendly and helpful on emails (gave a great recommendation for a winery to visit - Martin Scotts). The house is well laid-out - spacious bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The kitchen is big and it was easy to have three people in there making dinner. The backyard patios are lovely and we had our morning coffees and dinners out there for both of the days we had. Though you are in a housing development neighbhorhood, it is quiet and the high fence in the backyard gives you a sense of being more secluded. And the fact that the back is open to a beautiful, expansive view also helps with that. We enjoyed our time at the house, and in Wentachee, thoroughly. Do check out the Apple Loop trail that goes along the river - it was a great walk that you can make as long or as short as you want.
The home was very beautiful, homey and the view was fantastic. Our entire family enjoyed our time there, we were able to relax, cook dinners and enjoy our time together. The beds were comfortable, everything was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and glasses. We took day trips to Chelan, Cashmere and Leavenworth everything was easy access.
Our group loved everything about this house. When you're driving up the hill into the neighborhood, you can see a beautiful view of Wenatchee and all the houses nearby. All the rooms were just like how it was described in the pictures. The hot tub was good too. We will definitely stay here again!
