Beautiful 1800’s Renovated Farmhouse with WIFI/DishTV and Cell Phone Coverage
This beautiful farmhouse was hit by Hurricane Irene in 2011 and has been fully renovated. The walls and ceilings were removed and new sheetrock, windows, electricity and plumbing have been added. The original hardwood floors have been restored to their natural beauty.
The house is located on an 85-acre farm in the beautiful Schoharie Valley. The owner of the property lives in the back portion of the house. There are no connecting doors between the two apartments.
The view from your front porch is stunning, overlooking local farms and mountains in the distance. You will be surrounded by cornfields on all sides of the property in the summer. You will hear the lovely sound of the rooster crowing in the morning or the sound of the braying of the farm's new additions--Jack and Jill. They are adorable donkeys that love to run and play. During the April snowstorm of 2016, another adorable donkey was born. His name is Donkee.
If you enjoy nature, you can take a walk up the mountain behind the house where you might come across a deer or some wild turkeys. The view of the valley from the top of the mountain is incredible. You can also take a short walk up Vroman’s Nose in Middleburgh or take a hike along the mountain ridge in town. During the winter snowy months, the home is located on the snowmobile trail.
Your rental is an expansive 1,800 square feet with a full kitchen including beautiful cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances. There is a large open concept living room, full bath and laundry room on the first floor. The second floor has three bedrooms, The Captains Quarters and The Victorian Room each have a full bed and The Bunkhouse Room has four twin beds. There is also a ¾ bath upstairs.
The house is fully furnished including a flat screen TV. High speed internet and Dish TV are amenities included in your rental. You should be able to get cell service in the valley.
Guests will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the rental during their stay. There will be no maid service available. You must bring your own food and personal items.
We are only 10 minutes from Interstate 88. The farmhouse is 1.7 miles from the village of Middleburgh and 3.5 miles from the village of Schoharie.
Howe Caverns is only twelve miles away where you enjoy an underground boat ride, or have fun in their new High Adventure Park.
Cooperstown, less than an hour drive from the farmhouse, has many sites to visit including the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Albany, our state capital, is a 45 minute drive away.
Maple Ridge Ski area is a half hour drive where you can enjoy skiing and tubing.
Saratoga Casino, Raceway, and Performing Arts Center are a little more than an hour drive.
Downtown Middleburgh is a quaint place for a leisurely stroll and a visit to our nice restaurants and local shops.
There will be a minimum age limit for renters, children are welcome, and pets will be considered.
The farm has been in my family since 1956.
This property has all the modern conveniences. It has cell phone coverage, internet and has DishTV with over 250 channels and a DVR hopper. On those cold and snowy days, you can enjoy all the luxuries of home.
It is located in the beautiful Schoharie Valley. It is very quiet and located near Route 30 and the towns of Middleburgh and Schoharie. You can sit on the porch or in the living room and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains of the Schoharie Valley.
Four of us and our Westie stayed in this beautiful Farmhouse while we visited Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. We instantly feel in love with the house and enjoyed being on the farm with the roosters, chickens, and donkeys. Morning coffee on the front porch was a relaxing way to start the day! It was spacious, private and quiet. Besides attending the Induction Ceremony and nearby attractions, we enjoyed eggs that the owner gave us from her chickens (so good), we relaxed on the hammock, watched a thunder storm roll in from the Catskills and sweep across the hay and corn fields. The owner wonderful! Would love to return.
Stayed here with my daughter and her roommate who attend SUNY Oneonta. It was very clean and beautifully renovated. My daughter loved relaxing on the hammock. We were able to cookout, hike up the hill behind the farm and check out the chickens in the barn. We will be back with the rest of the family next year.
