Fall is fabulous in North Eastern Pennsylvania. Spend your vacation at beautiful Harvey's Lake. Take some time and get together with friends and family for a trip that will create memories that last a lifetime. Our house has plenty of parking. The house has a fully equipped kitchen but is just a 5 minute walk to the LakeSide Skillet, a full service family restaurant open daily at 7a.m.for breakfast and FishTales Bar & Grill , a popular lake pub where you can enjoy a cocktail on the deck . We offer a large game room with pool table, board games, and a few arcade games from yesteryear. If you love to fish, Harveys Lake is the place for you. We have Lakefront for fishing, a boat slip(if you are bringing your watercraft), use the house paddle boat. The surrounding communities have a great deal to offer. Hiking: Rickettes Glen State Park is a 20 min. .ride and has wonderful trails and stunning waterfalls. If your children love water slides parks , Montage Mountain is just a 30 minute drive. Northeastern Pennsylvania is known for its coal mining. Visit the Lackwanna Coal Mine tour and Anthracite museum. Its a 40 min ride and great for all ages. NightLife: The Mohegan Sun Casino is in Wilke-Barre about a 20 minute ride North. There are Movie cinemas and great restaurants.

I grew up in Oakhill which is just off the lake. I spent my childhood here. I enjoyed being back at the lake for a few days. It brought back wonderful memories. The house was terrific. We loved walking over to the Lakeside Skillet for breakfast and we even took a long walk all the way to Grotto (which was here for as long as I can remember). The owners were great. We will be back again and be sure to stay longer. Thanks!
The 4 rooms with double beds, and fold out sleeper provide plenty of accommodation. The showers have great pressure, and there are plenty of towels.
The lounge, dining room, breakfast table, play room table and porch provide plenty of space for smaller groups to sit and chat.
The morning and evening views are great.
My unreserved recommendation for potential renters
Very Large clean house! Plenty of room for 9 adults or more! Beautifully decorated! Lake Harvey is super clean! We were amazed at how clear the water was! Loved the access to the paddle boat! Had a great family vacation, making memories with our adult children. Thank you!
My family and I had a great time here. This is a very very nice house ,right on the water. I took my boat out every day,we went kayaking. My three teenagers love the pool table. I definitely want to come back again. Beautiful lake and beautiful town
We just returned from another great time at Harvey's Lake. It's always fun to visit family and take advantage of all the lake has to offer. This year our visit was all the more special because of our accomodations at the house named "at water's edge" by its owners. The house is very roomy and comfortable and very clean and well maintained. It has all the amenities to make one feel at home. ALthough there is a full size and well equipped kitchen we chose to eat out most of the time and take advantage of the restaurants in the area. We ate breakfast most days at "The Lakeside Skillet Restaurant" because it's so close and it's just easier to go and order a meal than prepare it.(We did enjoy sitting on the porch with our morning coffee, however!) Next time, we might take advantage of the outdoor grill and eating area that's perfect for family gatherings. Lastly, the beds were really comfortable, so getting a good night's sleep was really easy. We are already looking forward to next year's stay.
First of all, CLEAN. Because of a child with severe dust allergies, this was a major concern. He never once sneezed. The owners are very friendly and helpful, but know how to keep their distance, which is real nice. We gathered here as a family, some of whom hadn't seen each other in three years, and it was the perfect family place. The pool table is gorgeous and made a perfect hub for stories, conversation, and competition. No WIFI, after the initial shock it was great putting down those horrid life-controlling devices.
The kitchen allowed us to cook whatever we wanted and the outdoor grill was a bonus (though my brother melted a spatula on it.
The furniture and space was perfect: giant bedrooms, soft beds, couches, and kitchen table...
The lake and surrounding mountains (awesome hiking trails right behind the house) let nature speak for herself. We're thinking of a return summer-time trip.
Having a great bar within walking distance didn't hurt at all.
Overall, a great place, great owners, and a great time.
NorthEastern Pennsylvania is a wonderful rural community. Its scenic area. The lake is beautiful but so are the mountains that surround our valley. The seasons change here are breathtaking. Our area is rich with activities for all ages. Just around the lake near the house you have swimming, fishing, paddle boating. If you bring your boat waterskiing and water tubing are options. There are many State Parks within a 15 min ride for you to visit. For hiking, public swimming pools, bird watching, photography, and playgrounds. In Scranton, about a 30 minute ride, there is the Lackawanna Coal Mine tour and Anthracite Museum. Montage Mountain has a WaterPark in the summer and is a Ski resort in the winter. There are several movie theatres in Wilkes Barre area and also one in Tunkhannock either way about 25 min ride. We have the Susquehanna River for white water rafting and fly fishing. We have several local dinner theatres that have performances throughout the year , mostly on weekends. At the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre there are performing arts weekly. Some local talent, some vintage movies and some National acts. There is the Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes Barre. It is the home to restaurants, shopping and its a Casino. Much to do and see here .
