Interaction with Guests
Need some help getting around in Umeå? Want to know what is worthwhile to see? Want to chill over a cup of coffee or tea? We are here to help make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
We aim to be present during your stay and serve breakfast, as well as be available in case you have any questions.
We respect each guests individuality and respect that you might not be interested in conversations at the kitchen table.
We speak English, Swedish, Dutch, French and some German.
The house and surrounding buildings are all strictly non-smoking.
The outer yard provides a playground for children, in a car-free environment.
Summertime, you can enjoy the sun on either of our 2 patios. Wintertime, you can go cross-country skiing at the tracks, on just 5 minutes walking distance.
Our house is in a quiet neighbourhood at the outskirts of town, yet with excellent access to public transportation. The city centre is only 15 min away by bus, car or bike.
We live just on a 2 minute drive from the E4 motor way, so perfect if you are just passing through.
We live close by from lake Nydala and there are also nice walking paths in the forest on just 2 min walking distance.
We can recommend visiting the moose farm Älgens Hus in Bjurholm (70 km drive), going for a walk by the stream just 10 min away and maybe catch some fish. Enjoy the purity of Swedish nature while enjoying your stay with us.
Public transport is well organised in Umeå. A bus stop is just 700 m away. During rush hour you can catch a bus every 5 minutes to town, hospital or university.
Should you come by car, we can provide access to a parking spot with engine heater for 20 SEK/24 h. If you only stay for 1 night, you could also take a free parking spot, but if you want to avoid risking a fine, we still recommend a paid parking.
Should you come by plane, you can catch the airport coach, and switch to a local bus to get to our house.
Detailed info about how to reach our place will be sent to you once the booking is confirmed.
I grew up in Belgium, studied in Sweden, moved back to Belgium and I am now living in Sweden again. I love Sweden for its nature, silence and clean fresh air.
The kitchen is my favourite place in the house. There I can cook and bake, and make the breakfast I will treat you to.
I do things in a simple but thorough way, and that will show in how I make your stay enjoyable.
I always enjoy a nice chat over a cup of tea, so feel free to take a seat at our kitchen table and let the discussions lead away...
