About Cindy or Richard Lowden
Having grown up in this area, Perdido Key will always remain the most beautiful beach in the world to me, grew up watching the Blue Angels practice overhead every week and lived for those walks in the sand, collecting shells, crabbing, fishing and swimming in the Gulf of Mexico.
Why Cindy or Richard Lowden chose Perdido Key Coves One
It is the perfect island destination for fishing, (go to myfwc.com for fishing license and regulations), boating, (you can dock your boat right behind the house for easy access), surfing, skiing and walking on the beach. This is a quiet area that is right in the middle of Perdido Key State Park, close to NAS and downtown Pensacola, Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.
What makes this House unique
Being on the water is so soothing, nature's therapy, with just a short walk over to the beach, making it ideal! Whether enjoying the view of the water from the deck or fishing from the dock, it is always enjoyable. The open, large floor plan allows the whole family to spend time together comfortably.

Beautiful and Peaceful Home
This is a beautiful and well appointed home. The parking is easy and ample. There is a covered breezeway/garage to sort your gear. There is a warm outdoor shower to wash away the sand. The deck is great for fishing in the canal. We caught lots of small fish off the deck. We caught a pompano from the beach at the state park. There are public access beaches near which are free to use.
The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is lovely. All the appliances work great. There are ample towels and beach towels. There are a lot of nice extra touches. The furniture is beautiful and in great condition. We grilled on the upper deck which also has a seating area.
We went to the Aviation Museum and enjoyed the planes and historical displays. We saw a Blue Angel rehearsal from the flightline. Impressive!
There are several grocery stores available, Winn Dixie and Publix right over the bridge. Walmart with a grocery section is 15 minutes away. You get the best of both worlds: a lovely house on a quiet street, water behind you, a short walk or drive to the beach and groceries and supplies in easy access.
Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!!!
Thank you for a fabulous review. We will look forward to having you come again. There are so many things to explore here in Perdido Key with just a short drive to so many restaurants and attractions.

Lovely home at a great location!
This wonderful home is in a very convenient location, right across the street from a quiet section of the beach! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we could need and the layout of the house was perfect for a relaxing and fun vacation.
First time visit to The Dolphin House
It was wonderful! The beautiful home was well equipped for all our needs. With easy access to the canal and close to public beach, this home was perfect for our family. We will be coming back again.
Spacious House in a Great Location
The house was very clean upon arrival and more spacious than I expected. The beach is a short walk away. See my primary pros and cons below. We would definitely rent here again if returning to Perdido Key.
- Kitchen was spacious enough for multiple people to share the food prep work and had everything we needed to cook with
- Master bedroom had a comfortable bed and updated TV with built in streaming services
- Outdoor shower made keeping the inside tidy and sand free much easier
- Beach toys available to the kids was a plus
- Plenty of parking space for sharing the house with family members driving from different location
- Loved the hammock under the back porch and the deck areas for sitting outdoors in the afternoon/evening.
- The Cranium board game we found in the living room cabinet was a super fun family game.
- Extra beach towels provided in the laundry room were very handy since we didn't have space to pack ours for the trip.
- Upstairs mattresses are older and not very comfortable for older people, fine for kids
- Upstairs TVs did not have any cable or any way to use them. I would suggest removing them if no plans to update. It would free up a little space for luggage in those smaller rooms
- Living room TV did not have the built in streaming services that the master bedroom TV has and the cable channels are pretty limited
Second stay in this home, and will return.
You can find my initial review among those below, in which I listed pros and cons of the property. I won't rehash all of those, here, but I will say that most of the cons (which were inconsequential when compared to the many pros) have either been addressed, or there are workarounds.
For example, I was incorrect when I assumed that there was not proper lighting to illuminate the entire stairway up to the house. There is, it's just that the switches are strange red horizontal levers, so you may miss them at first--just keep flipping things, until you find them. :) I also found that there was indeed a pump for the kayak buried beneath some things in the outdoor closet. It did not work well, unfortunately, but I purchased a cheap pump from Dollar General, and left it in the closet, for future use. Regarding the road in front of the cul-de-sac being busy and a bit dangerous to walk alongside, we discovered that there is free and available parking at the Visitor's Center just down the road, which is right across from the boardwalk. So, you can easily solve this problem by just driving a couple of minutes to the Visitor's Center, parking there, and then using the crosswalk to get to the boardwalk.
The only remaining con is that the upstairs tvs continue to be very old, do not have cable or hdmi access, and now do not even get over-the-air channels, as those being broadcast are now all digital, and the tvs are too old to include a digital converter. Basically, they are just taking up space in the rooms, at this point. However, that is an extremely small inconvenience to a beautiful house, and when you go to the beach, you're not really watching much tv, anyway.
See my previous review for a more complete list of the pros of this house, but they include that the owners are very easy to work with, the house is very pretty, it is very well stocked with cooking, hygiene, linen, and play supplies, majorly cutting down on what you'll need to pack, and there is access to recreational fishing right off the back dock, with an extremely private beach just down the road. In general, you will not regret booking a stay here. As I mentioned, this is our second stay in the house, so far, and we will likely book it next year, as well.
This amazing waterfront house in Perdido Key is on a large canal connecting to Old River. Walk to our beautiful pristine beach just a few minutes away with a boardwalk. Easy access to Interstate 10 and 65 makes it a breeze getting here.
Being right in the middle of the State Park, there are no high rise condominiums to block views and the beach is just a short walk. The dock is just steps away from your back door and makes it so easy to walk down the stairs and go fishing, take a swim, or sunbathe. Lounge chairs and a big umbrella on the dock helps to protect from the sun or you can sit on the deck and observe dolphins gracefully coming down the canal on occasion. Just minutes away you can find awesome casual or fine dining restaurants, or visit the Naval Aviation Museum. If you like baseball, Pensacola is home of the Blue Wahoos if you would like some sports entertainment. The kitchen is ready with everything you need and large flat screen TV in the living room for your use.
With 3 bedrooms and 2 & 1/2 baths, you can comfortably have 8 to 10 people stay in this home.
