Independent vacationing

  • 5 of 5

The Tree House was the perfect spot for our vacationing style. It had everything we nèeded, plus a hot tub and some beach gear! Loved the lush jungle atmosphere and open air feel of the space, but appreciated that there were no bugs or other pests inside. (Lucky the cat came by one day, and we invited him in for a visit. He fit right in.) Reggie was very responsive.

Perfect for Two

  • 5 of 5

My honey and I stayed in the Treehouse rental for 8 nights. The location is perfect, a small jungle on the edge of the main strip excitement. A kitchen set for cooking whatever you want, a day bed for relaxing and a back patio set up with privacy in mind, this was a perfect get away for a couple. This rental was just south of Kona and had everything we needed near by. Ho'okena if a great beginners beach, the Korner pocket was a friendly pool hall/bar within walking distance filled with friendly locals and a great prime rib french dip. This is the rental to get if you are wanting to explore all day and return "home" to the perfect hideaway or even if you want to stay in all day and lounge. The property is beautiful and filled with wildlife, fruit and plenty to explore. Reggie is the wonderful owner who went out of her way to make our stay great. The snorkeling equipment provided worked perfectly, and the body boards were a huge blast in the waves.

Don't hesitate to text Reggie and ask her questions, she is more than willing to answer. (She even delivered fresh fruit).

The wildlife sounds at night are amazing. We are from Oregon and the songs of the frogs and qeckos didn't bother us at all. If anything, it was an amazing sound to fall asleep to. The soaking tub is awesome in the evening, a beer in hand, stars above and frogs chirping, what more could you ask for in that moment.

We plan to return again. If we return with the whole family, we still plan to rent from Reggie and choose one of the houses with multiple bedrooms.

The treehouse rental was perfect and the price was extremely reasonable.

Unique property, enjoyable stay

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay in this unique cottage up among the banana trees. If you can't do stairs, you'd better pass on this since there's 21 steps leading up to it. Eclectically furnished with beautiful Tifanny-style lamps. Comfy bed in its own little hideaway. Only 1 easy chair, other guests have to sit on a daybed or uncomfortable wood or metal folding chairs. Awkward to watch small tv unless you watch it from bed. Kitchen is well supplied, and if you need anything the owner is next door and easy to reach by phone or text. Nice patio area with plenty of seating, table and hot tub. You hear chickens day and night and will have friendly geckos inside and out. Gas station and McDonalds 2 blocks away, Kailua-Kona about 8 miles, several coffee plantations within a few miles.

We miss our treehouse!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Treehouse in early Dec. 2015 for 9 days and we loved it! We live close to the Twin Cities, but we really don't like the city so it was nice to stay "off the beaten track." As our trip got closer we started wondering if we'd made a mistake choosing something so different, but we were VERY pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The treehouse is better than a hotel room. It's like a studio apartment with so much privacy. It was neat, clean, with a very nice little kitchen. We had breakfast at home most mornings before heading out for our daily adventures. Reggie was very helpful and responded to our needs quickly! We loved the chorus of frogs at night and the roosters waking us in the morning. The geckos were entertaining and having our own hot tub was great too! There were several good restaurants close by, and a grocery store just down the road. Kailua- Kona was a beautiful, short drive away with so much to do! The treehouse was in reasonable driving distance of Volcano National Park, Hapuna Beach, Waimea/Parker's Ranch along with many other beaches and parks. If we are ever able to visit the big island again, we'll definitely try to stay at the treehouse.

The Tree House - A wonderful tropical place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 9 days at this great "retreat". If you want tropical, you got it! Bananas and passion fruit right on the lanai with the hot tub! Anything you might need in the kitchen area. Comfortable and exceptionally clean sleeping and living quarters, yet so close to either Kealakekua or Kona. We loved our stay and hope to return. Reggie was so kind and quick to attend to any queries. We even felt like we got a Hawaiian guitar serenade in the evenings! Such a nice "Hawaiian" experience! A caution to anybody who might want to rent this - there are stairs involved, so be sure you are agile enough to climb a few stairs.

We enjoyed a fish and chips dinner at Annie's (really close), and Bianelli's Italian restaurant in the Keahou Shopping Center was also a good place eat.

Tree House Hideaway

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying in this little spot. It was just what we needed; quiet, very, very clean and conveniently located to where we needed to be in the Captain Cook area. The weather was unusually hot, but the fans and open concept kept us comfortable. Would stay again.
