Great location - plenty of room

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this home for three weeks - the location is an easy walk to two beaches, the town dock, library and KettleHo (KHO) the local's 'watering hole'. Cotuit is a great location - not touristy but not far from either Hyannis, Falmouth or great shopping at Masphee Commons. The beach pass allows entrance to all of Barnstables beaches. Our stay was a great way to end our summer.

lovely home and great quiet location

  • 5 of 5

this is our second year at this home in the center of Cotuit, a small quiet town in the upper-mid Cape. we love the ease of walking to the local speciality/deli store, Loop Beach, Cape Cod Kettlers, and nature walks. This home is roomy and well stocked; no need to bring any necessities as all are provided. we are a small family of four but the house with its backyard and multiple living spaces on first floor could easily accommodate a family with young (or more) children.

Wonderful vacation home.

  • 5 of 5

We have been staying at this venue for our summer vacation for 5 years, and each time we come, it exceeds our expectations. First of all, it is immaculate and well-maintained. Although the house is on the historic register, it has charming, spacious rooms and all the amenities of a modern home (airconditioned bedrooms, washer/dryer, dishwasher, Wifi, and a private outdoor shower with cold AND hot water, perfect for coming home from a day at the beach).

My children with their families come from California and New York. The children have the upstairs rooms while the grandparents have the peace and quiet of the downstairs bedroom. There is also a lovely patio off the kitchen where we have most of our meals. Because a beach pass is provided, we can go to any beach in Barnstable county.

The location is great. Located on Main Street, the house is a short walk to the village center with the Cotuit General Store, the Public Library, the Post Office and the town dock as well as the lovely Loop beach. There is also a great fun restaurant, The Kettle-Ho, which serves the freshest seafood as well as great burgers and steaks. Probably the best perk is the summer baseball league. The Cotuit Kettliers play several times a week in their wonderful stadium.

Cotuit is close to Woods Hole (Marine Museum and Aquarium), Ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket as well as great ice cream, golf (Willow Bend and miniature) and many other entertainments.

We hope to vacation there for many years to come.

Lovely well appointed home

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed in several homes in Cotuit, but this was our first here. This two story historical cottage is well appointed, cozy without feeling crimped and located centrally in one of the smaller and less populated/busy towns on the Cape. Everything is provided by the owner in the way of full kitchen, dishes, towels, bedding, beach chairs, etc. What isn't can be easily obtained at several nearby grocery stores. Short walk to several small town beaches, a Cotuit specialty food store, and if you like Cape Cod Baseball, the Kettelers. If you want a place you can step out of your door and immediately be in the hubbub of Hyannis and the like, this is not the place for you. But if you want a quiet rural-like refuge for a week or two on the Cape, this is near perfect.

Great trip to Cape Cod.

  • 5 of 5

After a few days sightseeing in New York City it was great to get up to Cape Cod for a 10 day stay at this Historic property in Cotuit.

We travelled from the UK and booking with Betsy and transferring cash for the rental was very easy thanks to PayPal.

Cotuit is one of the 7 villages of Barnstable and Main Street is a wonderful location which is within walking distance of several beaches. As we were a party of 6 we tended to use the car and the Barnstable Parking Permit. was very useful. We even used it the day we took a Whale Watching trip from Barnstable.

The house was well equipped (see overview), and spacious. The outside shower was popular when returning from Loop Beach, and the Outdoor Gas Grill was equally popular.

We visited Provincetown, Hyannis Port and Chatham as well as Marconi Beach and Sandy Neck Beach.

There was a large Stop and Shop less than 3 miles away which catered for all our needs and more serious retailing could be had at the Cape Cod Mall Hyannis.

All in all a great trip which was enhanced by staying at this wonderful rental.
