Perfect choice for family reunions, weddings, business off sites, retreats, wildlife watching, leaf peeping, etc. Whether it is a family reunion needing sleeping space for 14-16 (number limited by city code-sleeps 14 if you just rent the main house, 16 if you also rent the addition) or a smaller gathering needing six-seven bedrooms, our house is a great place to gather. The Davis Hill Historic House, with its breathtaking view of the Continental Divide and particularly Longs Peak, began as an inn around the turn of the last century in a smaller structure. The present stone and stucco structure was built in 1923. We operated the house as a B&B for five years and after numerous requests from guests to rent the entire house for their summer vacations, family reunions, quilting groups and off sites, we now accept weekly rentals (Saturday check in and checkout) in the peak season and three or more days in the off season where the entire house, to include the kitchen facilities, belongs to the group.

The home is in an absolutely fabulous location. On a hill in a quiet residential neighborhood, you can leave your cars parked in the reserved on site spaces and walk to downtown in five minutes. There are numerous shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and attractions just two blocks away, to include Fun City-a kids' favorite. Enjoy the fabulous mountain views and birds from the front porch. Guests usually view deer and elk from the front porch as well.

The main house sleeps 14. It has six bedrooms and two full baths and one half bath. The main house has a full kitchen equipped with everything you need to whip up great meals. There is also a dishwasher and microwave. There is a large living room with TV and comfortable furniture, including couches and a recliner, surrounding an incredible moss stone fireplace.

You can dine inside at the large dining table (original hickory style) or al fresco on the wonderful front porch overlooking the Continental Divide.

The back wing of the main house has three bedrooms and one hall entry bathroom. The bedrooms include one with a king bed, one with two twins and one with a double and a twin. The bathroom has a claw foot tub and separate shower. The other main floor wing has a bedroom with a queen bed and a bedroom with a full bed (''the nook''). These bedrooms are separated by a bathroom with claw foot tub (tub has shower attachment). The nook also has a private exit out to the front porch. The comfortable main floor period bedrooms all have antique furniture and wonderful beds.

Upstairs is a large dormitory style bedroom that is very popular with kids and teens. There is one queen, one double, one single bed and a twin futon and a half bath. There is also a futon and couch for lounging.

For an additional charge of $150 a night plus tax, guests can also rent the "cottage", an private addition to the main house allowing a total of 16. It has a bedroom with king bed, fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom, open plan dining/living area with a futon and two recliners. It has a separate entrance and separate deck with amazing views. Perfect for those needing some privacy from the main house. Call or email for details.

Guests often have a hard time pulling themselves away from the view from the large porch to go explore Rocky Mountain National Park, the Stanley Hotel, the YMCA of the Rockies and beautiful downtown Estes Park with the wonderful river walk. There is a fire pit available out back for roasting hot dogs and making s'mores as well as a large gas grill. Skewers provided. If there is a city or county fire ban in effect due to weather the gas grills can still be used. Complementary "wi-fi" and on site shared laundry facility available 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Mon-Fri. Detergent, spray and wash, etc. provided. We have a fenced area on the side of the house and reserved parking for up to four vehicles. A city ordinance prohibits on street parking, RVs, trailers or large campers, but we do have a nearby parking area for those and additional cars at no charge. Estes Park Shuttle to and from Denver Airport will provide pick up and delivery right to our house for approximately $45 one way, $80 round trip. We know you will enjoy your stay.

Maximum occupancy of 14 (16 with the "cottage" addition.) We respond to all inquiries and calls promptly. Our calendar is always fully updated.

Our house is smoke free, to include the porches and decks. We love pets but do not allow them due to some guests having pet allergies.

We love being a few minutes walk from downtown Estes Park (we live right across the road from this property. The mountain views are so inspiring and watching the wildlife is really fun.

Mountain View. Property is within walking distance of town and 'Fun City' with mini golf, giant slides, Go-Kart, etc. Three beer gardens, a winery and the Aerial Tramway are also in walking distance. Numerous restaurants, donut house, shopping, movie theater all within walking distance. Incredible view from huge front porch, fire pit for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. You can also rent the addition with a king bed, living room, and kitchen. Call owners 703 869-8755 for information and rates. We try to have all advertised amenities working. If something becomes inoperable we will attempt to replace it or get it fixed quickly but we do not refund rent. Examples would be coffee maker, TV, iron, gas logs, Wi-Fi, vacuum, appliances, etc. This is standard practice in the short term rental business. To date we have not had any issues.

Excellent location - Excellent owners - Excellent get away

I can't say enough about our stay at this location. The house is a charming home - laid out to best accommodate a large group of people. We had absolutely no problem with 13 of us in the house. Between the beautiful porch with a table and seating area, the large dining room/living room, and all the bedrooms, there was never a time when we felt that we needed more space. Sitting around the fire pit is an excellent way to end the night. The house is more than well stocked with just about anything you need for cooking/serving/relaxing. And the laundry facilities are excellent (if you must do laundry on vacation!).

The location is amazing - one way offers a quick drive in to RMNP and the fantastic trails and scenery. In the opposite direction, it's a quick drive/walk to the heart of the Estes Park shops and eateries. There are also kid activities a short walk away. Even though it's so close to all the activities, it's very quiet and peaceful. We had deer grazing in the yard as we sat outside!

But the best part are the owners - Jim and Lois could not be more gracious hosts. They made our stay perfect. It's obvious that they enjoy seeing people have a great time in the beautiful city they call home. We are already planning our next trip back to this lovely location and these wonderful people.

Couldn't have been better

It's hard to know where to begin. This was the best possible choice for our group and, in my opinion, for any group. We were there for a family event and I'm glad to have chosen this spot. To cover the basics, the bedroom/sleeping options were varied enough to accommodate a mixed group of close family, relatives and friends. Beds and bedrooms were comfortable and cozy. The common area was easily large enough to have a large group dinner or to have people lounging about after a day of hiking in the park and/or shopping in town. Since it was a family event the kitchen was heavily used. Every time we looked for a special dish, knife, pot, serving item, gadget or appliance we found it waiting for us.

There are some things that set this location apart from other vacation homes...

The location is PERFECT. I have stayed in other beautiful places that were perched high on a mountain with commanding views. However, if you want to do anything other than look at the view you have to get in the car and drive down to town and fight traffic and parking. At this house you can step out onto the large front porch and see a truly iconic Rocky Mountain vista featuring Long's Peak while watching elk, deer and hummingbirds nearby. It's hard to believe that it is just a few minutes walk out the back door to the center of town but it's true. Of course, entrances to the park are nearby. This made it very easy for everyone in our group to choose what they wanted to do at any time.

The building itself is historic and is decorated with care and a touch of whimsy. This is no sterile, newly constructed addition to the area. It is a historic building filled with character. Everywhere you look you come upon an interesting item from Rocky Mountain and Estes Park history. You'll find old souvenir items, a notebook with historical articles, and other similar things. With all that, the place feels uncluttered and welcoming.

The owners did all they could to make us feel welcome and at home. It is clear that they take great pride in this place and have worked to make it as comfortable as possible for guests. And "guests' is the right word to use. We never felt like renters but more like true guests in someone's home. Like good hosts they left us alone to enjoy the space but were quick to help whenever we had needed something or had a question.

I look forward to the chance to come back some time.

The Cassaday "Cousins" Reunion in Estes Park

Don't change have thought of everything...and was a perfect setup for our large group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay. I asked for constructive criticism and/or negative input for all members of our group and no one had a single complaint or suggestion for changing anything. The layout of the house, the large porch with the view of Longs Peak, being so close to downtown and yet with open space around the property giving it that uncrowded feeling, the outdoor fire pit, the kitchen and all of the utensils, dishes, etc., and the large living room / dining room was more than adequate and comfortably furnished for our large group. Ken and Gail were great and very responsive when on the one or two occasions they were called upon. We really appreciated Gail agreeing to take photos of our group. She was very patient while our group leader struggled a little with getting our group arranged for that "perfect" photo on the porch steps.

To sum it up, the accommodations were perfect for our large group, we enjoyed sightseeing and short hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park as well as the elk, deer, and a rare black bear sighting on Friday, the Arts and Craft show at the park and a tour of the Stanley Hotel on Saturday. We found the history of the Stanley brothers and the hotel to be well presented and very fascinating.

All in all, a great time was had by all and we will definitely be in touch for our next family gathering in Estes Park. We were lucky to have found you.

It is exactly as billed. It is a 100 yr old historic home.

It comes with all the charm and quirks of a house this age. It was perfect for our family. We loved it. Jim and Lois were great to work with. We would definitely rent it again.

Wonderful cabin to relax!

This house was everything we expected and more! Jim and Lois were there if we needed them but definitely not intrusive. The cabin was spacious enough to hold our big family! We enjoyed the front porch and cool mountain air! We loved the mountain views and all the wildlife traveling through the property. The cabin almost sits in town but we never felt like we were in the city! Convience and solitude, what more could you want! We hope to be back!
