Awesome time and the cabin was great
This is what I expected of a summer cottage nestled in the pines, quiet and no frills. This was a very relaxing and gorgeous nature watching vacation that we really enjoyed. We also got to meet the wicked good people Virgil and Eleanor Morse, who supplied us with many fantastic lobsters and even better stories! I will definitely plan on returning to this beautiful area again.
Lovely, clean and well-equipped cabin. The views from every window are stunning. Great spot to relax and recharge. Lovely early morning sunrises that are not to be missed. Close to Rockland and Camden for galleries, shops and restaurants. The Peninsula has lots to offer as well. Vanessa is a wonderful hostess.
My husband and I had a great time exploring the St. George Penninsula from this beautiful little cottage. The rising sun streaming through the windows helped the days begin with a smile. Breakfast watching the gulls swooping, osprey or eagle soaring and the gentle cove water lapping at the shoreline slowly morphed into long days spent walking the rocky beaches, gawking at art or aircraft collections, shopping and eating in great little places, trekking across the breakwater, climbing up a lighthouse or cracking open a fresh lobster purchased right down the road after sitting and chatting a spell with the lobsterman and wife. The kitchen provided me with all I needed to cook and serve my own meals as well. The cottage was neat and roomy enough for us, a guest and two young dogs. Luckily, the owners and previous guests left detailed information about the area and its attractions, because there is no WiFi connection. Even my phone had no service, but my husband's did, so we were fine. I would not hesitate to rent this cottage again, as there are many more things we would love to do in this beautiful part of Maine, and we were very comfortable here.
We had a wonderful stay in the cabin.
Perfect for a quiet getaway. The kids loved that we we're so close to the water.
I can really recommend this place.
We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs and watching our 2 dogs explore the area. Nice touch to have multiple places to sit outside. We took in many of the suggested sights and eating establishments. Loved the fact that many restaurants were dog friendly. Thanks for the great list! We enjoyed walking up the street for dog walks and of course buying lobsters at Morse's.
The Cabin was very comfortable and the right size for us. We would recommend The Cabin to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing and slightly rustic change of scenery. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back next summer.
