After retiring from a 33 year career in sales management/ marketing, we visited our eldest daughter Etta and fell in love with Asheville. We moved to the Asheville Area in 2002 and lived in the house that became our first rental, “Our House.” Soon to follow, came our youngest daughter, Farris, and her now husband Danny. In 2009 their daughter Aylssa arrived, making this a true family business.
Frank Dixon purchased this house in 2011
We fell in love with Asheville and all it has to offer. We then decided to share the beauty of the Asheville Area and the hospitality of the Smokey Mountains with others. “Our House” and “My Roundette” were on the property when we originally bought it. Both have since been remodeled. We then purchased additional land and built “My Place,” “The Huntley,” and “The Garden Cabin.” “Log Gap” and “Prayer Ridge” were both bought at separate locations. Both were extensively remodeled.
The benefit of staying at “The Cove at Fairview” is the unique experience. Each home offers you a different experience in small ways – outdoor fireplaces, swinging beds, and a fifty mile view are just a few. Also, enjoy waterfalls, Koi Ponds, Lotus Flowers, horses, chickens (enjoy fresh eggs), native plants, & flower gardens.
By staying here, you are nestled into all of the beautiful natural settings in this peaceful cove.
While being very private and close to nature, you are still afforded all of the conveniences of technology and are located near all this area has to offer. Truly a place to come and renew yourself. Kick back, relax, and have a true retreat or a wonderful place to land after an exhausting day of fun.
Amazing house! Thank you for opening your beautiful home! We had a great time and are going to make a tradition out of it . . . See you next year!
Great home for a multigenerational trip to the mountains! Plenty of amenities, beds and space to relax for all. Great location, as well - easy drives to many area attractions.
Had an incredible time. Frank was a great host and made sure we were well looked after. The place is beautiful and so peaceful! Close to everything and the hobby farm close-by was so pretty - the animals were happy to see us! We will definitely be back if Frank will have us!
This is the best rental ever!! Frank is the kindest and generous renter I've ever dealt with. He had fresh bread and fresh farm fresh eggs for us on arrival. They also provide everyone with a robe! Top notch!
We were a group of 5 women staying 3 days for a "fall getaway". The house was perfect for our trip. Great location about 10-15 min to downtown Asheville. the house is gorgeous. We arrived to the smell of fresh baked bread and Frank gave us a quick tour. He brought a dozen eggs from his farm which is worth a quick stop to see the animals and koi ponds. On the lower level is a bedroom and bath. Just outside of that is an outdoor fireplace and a pool table. On the mail level is the beautiful kitchen and living room with wood burning fireplace and a screened in porch with 2 swinging beds (we loved these even with the chilly nights we were snug in the extra blankets that were available). There is also another patio with a gas grill that is situated across from the waterfall fountain and a great place for evening wine and star watching. Upstairs there are two full sized beds on the landing and the master suite We loved the extra attention to detail, the bathrobes for the hot tub were a big hit. Frank was the perfect host, got us discount tickets to the Biltmore helped us with the firewood and was available if needed. We would all highly recommend the Huntley or any of Franks other properties.
We really enjoyed our stay at "The Huntley" last weekend. The house was great and looked just like the pictures. We spent a lot of time in the outdoor space underneath it with a fire going and playing pool. My daughter and sister-in-law enjoyed sleeping on the porch swinging beds; kind of like upscale camping!
The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and even some basic cooking spices, foil, ect...more so than some other rental houses. Of course the farm fresh eggs and hot bread were much appreciated!
Frank the owner was great, giving us the check-in tour. He was available by phone if needed. He made us feel very welcome.
The location was perfect for what we wanted; about 15 mins from Asheville, so we could get there easily. We also took a nice drive to Chimney Rock one day. It really is in a pretty area!
