Overview

About the property

Charming Two Bedroom Home Nestled On On Acre And Surrounded By Quiet.

. If you want to reconnect with your partner or with yourself, take your child hiking, or finish your novel, this is a great place for it.

The house comfortably accommodates 3 people with a queen size bed in the larger bedroom and a single bed in the small bedroom. The single bed has a trundle beneath it so it can work for 2 children, or two adults who really like each other with a slight shifting of furniture.

The house is painted in vibrant but soothing colors. Designed to be relaxing and comfortable with unique local art, pottery and furniture.

Guest Access

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking (electric stove, the house is all electric). You can also cook on the charcoal grill in summer. The living room has a view of the mountains and is a comfortable place to sit and talk, write, dream. There is no cable but it's stocked with DVD's and a DVD player, books, and games. There is a sweet back porch where 2 or 4 people can dine

Our spot on Manorville Road is semi-secluded and an easy drive from the Throughway. West Saugerties is 9.5 miles from the village of Saugerties (according to Budget Traveler one of the top 10 of America’s small towns) and 9.5 miles from Woodstock. The area has the best of both country and city: forests, hiking, movies, music, shops, great restaurants, farmers markets.

It's best to have a car to reach Edna's Valley and to explore all the area has to offer.

Other Things to Note

One dog is OK. There is a $60.00 additional pet fee. Sorry, we can't accommodate cats!

gorgeous area, and the home is perched on a knoll, with amazing mountain views!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very sweet cottage, just perfect for us, a couple with small dogs. We couldn't have been happier with the place... well, maybe if the yard was fenced in... the yard is really lovely, in an area that has a distinct magic. Everything is perfect in the house, clean and neat, comfy beds, and good sheets. One day this weekend I did not feel so well, and the couch and TV for movies,(big selection of movies), were just what the doctor ordered. Lunch at the hip Circle W one day which is very close by, and the feeling of being truly in nature, but not isolated was fab. One really has the feeling of being up high with the valley on one side which is implied through the trees, and the great mountain in front. This place would also be great in summer, as it's super close to wonderful waterfalls, and swimming holes. Thanks Teresa!

Lovely quiet location, quaint house

  • 5 of 5

We found the house charming and the location lovely, green and tranquil. We found both of the beds to be comfortable and enjoyed hanging out in the living room and in the backyard.

The house is a 1940-50s bungalow and has the charm from that era. It doesn't have air conditioning but we didn't find that to be an issue as has lots of window and good ventilation.

If you're looking for a quiet place to get away, would recommend it.

Amazing Place! Great Location! Clean, Well Kept!

  • 5 of 5

We showed up and there was a lovely note welcoming us, that was just the first of the many perfect aspects of our stay. We had rented this place for a family get away and it was perfect. From the big kitchen area to the cute living room and beautiful view. This house was Much bigger than the pictures show. It had everything we needed for a great weekend. We couldn't say enough about this cute little hideaway that we found and want to come back again. Thank you Teresa for allowing us to experience your little slice of heaven.

Quaint little cabin in a quiet area

  • 5 of 5

Came with a friend for a Nee Years Eve Ski/Snowboarding trip. We hit 3 mountains in 3 days, all within a decent distance.

The home itself was decorated nicely, furnished well, and a great overall experience. The best feature is hands down the separate control of heaters in each room. The only downside was the WiFi was ancient (DSL), however this was a minor inconvenience as we weren't there to use the Internet. Side note: as others have mentioned there are plentyyyyy of DVD's, we took advantage and enjoyed a few movies during our time there.

Thanks for making your great home available, it added to the experience of traveling upstate!

Enjoyable Retreat

  • 4 of 5

My friend, my dog and I had an enjoyable retreat from life at this home. It was clean, comfortable and just as described in the overview and pictures. It is a well-maintained older home. I live in a city so I found the place to be remote but close enough to the local restaurants and shopping. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great location and property for hiking in the catskills and exploring woodstock!

  • 4 of 5

The property is actually cuter and roomier than the photos show. We were pleasantly surprised. We were a little nervous about not having AC in August and it was a little musty at first, but we opened the windows in the bedroom and other rooms and it cooled off and aired out quickly and we had lovely nature sounds for ambiance. We didn't spend a ton of time at the house, because we had plans to hike to Huckleberry Point and Kaaterskill Falls (both great hikes) and explore Woodstock. We followed Teresa's suggestions for dining at Garden Cafe, Circle W etc and they all were wonderful. When we finally came back in the evening, we hung out in the comfy living room and skimmed through Teresa's awesome selection of books and classic DVD's.

We would do it all again in a heartbeat! Also, a huge plus was being able to bring our dog who loves and since Woodstock establishments are super dog friendly and she loved the hiking as well.
