We built this cabin because we fell in love with Lake O'brien. The cool clean water, wildlife, mature trees and evening fires are some of the features that make our home a wonderful place to "escape" from the stress and daily grind. Sleep with the window open and hear the loons calling in the spring, it is absolutely serene.
Greg purchased this cabin in 2001

We loved our stay, there was plenty of room for all to do their own thing. It is a great place to have our family together in one place. The kitchen is a cooks dream with plenty of counter space to bake or just gather with snacks etc. Our granddaughters had homework to do, the loft was great for that, they could study yet be a part of our conversations. Football was on the TV for the guys and the gals were playing games and baking cake our son-in-laws birthday.
The weather was great for taking family pictures, with the leaves turning it will be a memory not forgotten. We will definitely come back!
Loved the cabin! A group of girls stayed for the weekend and it couldn't have been better. The views were absolutely gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Liked the stay very much and love to stay again.
Awesome Vacation House for our family gathering! We loved the spacious & well stocked kitchen along with all of the little extras provided. We had plenty of room for our children & grandchildren to visit as everyone was nearby in Cross Lake for a family wedding at the Amazing Pine Peaks Event Center Near by. We loved our location, the great dock for fishing & fun, the fire pit, the spacious deck, & just everything about this fabulous house.
We had a great time at this house. It was a beautiful setting-very mellow. Kind of close neighbors but did not encounter any during our stay. It was too cold to use the lake but had a nice little beach for swimming. Shopping was great in Crosslake and Nisswa.
The dishwasher leaked and the washing machine/dryer was sandy but no big deal.
This is a beautiful house with lots of room and plenty of bedrooms. We were here with three families (8 grandchildren) in the house and we were very comfortable. The pontoon boat is perfect for boating and fishing. The owner takes very good care of the property and is quick to help if there are problems. I would recommend this house to anyone.
Our group absolutely loved staying at this cabin. We hosted a joint bachelor/bachelorette party and the cabin was so perfect. Everything that is laid out in the description is right on. We loved hanging out on the dock and also loved how much sleeping space there was in the cabin. It was close to all the night life that Crosslake has to offer which made it even better. We loved working with Oothoudts and they were so accommodating by answering all of our questions ahead of time. The day we were leaving we already started talking about planning another visit back to the cabin!
Lake O'Brien is 188 acres, and one of the clearest lakes in the state, with water clarity down to 22 feet. The fishing is great for northerns, bass, walleyes, crappies and sunfish. Skiing, after dinner sunset cruise on the Pontoon or a walk through the mature pine forest are just a few of the attractions. World class golf at The Legacy, The Preserve, Deacons Lodge or the local Crosswoods are available close by. For the shopper, you can visit downtown Crosslake and Nisswa, Christmas Point or Fleet Farm. There are numerous restaurants nearbye, but don't miss dinner at the Riverside Inn and an Ice Cream Cone at Lake Country Crafts and Cones in Crosslake. The wild rice at the Bungalow is outstanding. For you winter enthusiasts, the snowmobiling and cross country skiing are unbeatable!
