This passive solar home now with high speed internet, sits at over 10,000 feet, is warm and cozy even with 3 feet of snow on the ground. The ski in-ski out location makes it easy to stop in for lunch or warm up by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa.
Sit on the swing in the light filled sunroom and watch the elk, turkey, deer, and other wildlife graze in the front yard or take a walk threw the forest of evergreens, aspens, and wild flowers blooming everywhere.

As a backpacker and lover of the out doors, I have always loved the high mountains and dreamed of building my dream house where there is lots of snow. The problem is finding a high mountain you can get to after 2 feet of snow falls. The Village of Angel Fire does an outstanding job of maintaining the roads and the Angel Fire Resort is the perfect neighbor. I can snow board down to the village for a loaf of bread, take the chair lift up and slide back to the house. A dream come true.
We had 8 adults and 6 children aging from 6 months to 6 years. This house truly has everything you need for a great stay. It is roomy and very comfortable. It truly is ski in - ski out. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with. Rick and Virginia were available if needed. We hope to return to this hours again.
Our group consisted of 5 dads and each of our 15 year old sons for a father/son ski trip. The house was perfect for this group with four bedrooms and plenty of beds, nice well equipped kitchen and ski-in ski-out ability. The location of the house made it easy for those that wanted to hit the slopes early, come back for lunch or finish early without having to coordinate with others in the group. The owners were very hospitable during our stay and even helped when one of our group's SUV got stuck the last day. The group enjoyed the hot tub after a day of skiing and the boys were excited about the bon fire pit but were too tired each night to get a fire going. Over all this place was a great fit for our group and would be for any large family, several couples or large group of guys or gals just looking for an easy time on the slopes.
Very confortable and beautiful cabin at 10,000 ft.
The pictures of this house do not do it justice. The house has an amazing kitchen area with enough space for the whole group with a nice fireplace to keep everyone warm. The living room has surround sound with plenty of seating to relax after a long day of skiing. The bedrooms are huge and we were able to fit our group of 16 quite comfortably. The hot tub was always hot and was great to lounge in while the sun went down over the mountains in the background. The ski-in and ski-out aspect was huge for our group because everyone could come and go as they pleased rather than carpooling to the resort each day. Rick was a gracious host and avaliable to answer all my questions. I've been coming to Angel Fire for the past 4 years and this was hands down the best time/housing accommodations I've had. The only negative of this house was leaving at the end of the week. I will definitely look to rent this house again, thanks Rick!
This was hands down the best place we have stayed at in Angel Fire! It was perfect for our large family. The kitchen was completely stocked and the house was very clean. True Ski-in, Ski-out. We were very impressed. Highly recommend!
We stayed at this cabin for Spring Break 2013. We had a group of 14, and we all slept very comfortably. The owner met us there as we arrived and gave us a walk through to explain everything. He even came the next morning after receiving about 8 inches of snow to clear the drive way and sidewalks as well as mark and clear the path out to the ski slope. I would highly recommend this cabin to everyone with a big crowd. The kitchen and bathrooms have been remodeled and were perfect for our large group. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.
