This sweet gem of a house was built back in 1860 or there abouts. The various owners over the years have really taken care of her. You'll be hard pressed to find a better home base while you're exploring this amazing area. This house sits on 2 acres of land and borders a huge protected farm of 100 plus acres. Very nearby you'll find two parks that will blow your mind. If you've never heard of them spend some time checking out the Mohonk Preserve and our Minnewaska State Park. There you'll find some of the best scenery in the state and a diverse eco system like none in the world. Our Shawangunk Ridge will impress you with it's white rock face and climbers come from all over the world the tackle it. The parks are full of trails to hike and bike and pristine lakes to swim in. This beautiful old house has everything you'll need while here. Perfect layout. Wrap around decks, covered porch, full bath on both floors, bedrooms on both floors, very functional kitchen, oh so comfy bedrooms with full sized beds, nice bathrooms, well stocked pantry, wide board floors, window seats and easy access to everything this area has to offer. The one thing that you'll wish you had more of is time to further explore this beautiful area. All four seasons are amazing here. Lots of farm stands to get the very freshest produce and wine trails to travel and sample. The Hudson Valley is special and will leave a lasting impression on you. You will be back!
We're happy to share this gem with other folks who will protect it and treat it as we do. It's our escape and a place you'll surely return.

Private, protected, convenient, full of charm
Wrap around decks, covered porch, well stocked kitchen, protected land next door and oh so close to the parks here.
My husband and I stayed at the House on Honeysuckle hill for a long weekend. We were so impressed! The owners are super communicative, available 24/7 for questions. They had plenty local suggestions. Best of all, they were so accommodating and flexible to our date change. As you drive up to the house, you are immediatley taken aback by the expanse of the beauitful yard. We happened to visit after a snow storm, so everything was covered in white--a pitcturesque cabin stay! As soon as you walk into the house, you a greeted with a clean, well organized, and beautifully decorated cabin. You immediately feel at home. Everything you need can be found in the cabin. If you have any additional questions, it is outlined in the book. The house is well fit for a large or even small group. We were just two people and felt like we were staying in a palace. Firewood is easily accessible on property, we grilled (charcoal also available on property), and we used the fully stocked kitchen. Wifi was available and FAST (very important if you worked like we did).
If you are looking for a clean, well organized, easy to get to (only a little over an hour from NYC!) cabin retreat--this is truly the place to stay. Not only are the owners attentive to your needs, but their communication prior really makes you feel that you are well taken care of. The cabin is truly impeccably decorated and you do not need to bring a thing! There is lots to do the area and if needed any suggestions, the owners are so lovely and attentive--they are right there for your support!
We cannot wait to visit again! Thank you so much for having us!
My husband and I were looking for a comfortable home out of the city where we could relax with our two mothers and two dogs over Christmas. This beautiful home fit the bill perfectly. It's a great combination of historic charm with modern furnishings (just our style). The day we arrived two deer greeted us in the front yard! The kitchen is incredibly well-equipped and we spent the weekend cooking, eating, reading and hanging out in the cozy living room around the fireplace. Bruce, the property manager, was very responsive and always available by email to answer any questions we had. We would love to come back sometime!
We were a group of 3 couples - and a dog - looking to spend a low key New Years out of the city. This house was absolutely perfect and had everything we could have possibly asked for! Easy drive from NYC/Hoboken, readily available groceries/supplies in New Paltz (about 15 min drive away), FULLY stocked kitchen, incredibly clean, and Bruce was fantastic to coordinate the trip with.
The fire pit on the property was put to great use with tons of firewood stacked and ready for our use, the wrap around deck became a central hangout spot for our group, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were amazingly clean and comfortable. 10 min drive to Mohonk hiking trails, beautiful property - we would highly recommend this house and will hopefully be back soon!
This was a Super comfortable home. I loved the fire pit. The house is in a great location and located close to all that the Hudson Valley has to offer. The kitchen was well stocked with everything one would need. Beds were extremely comfortable. I cannot wait to go back.
Bruce the rental broker was very helpful and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great trip which was really nice. He provided some ideas like a trip to a swimming hole nearby and all the ideas ended up being very fun. We were able to bring our dog as well and she loved running up and down the lawn for hours! We'll definitely try to come back in the future!
We all enjoyed our stay at the House on Honeysuckle Hill. It was clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. The layout provided for privacy for individuals in our group as well as time together. The house had everything we needed- no need to pack anything! We appreciated the linens, towels and stocked kitchen! The proximity to New Paltz was perfect. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.
The quaint village of High Falls will delight you. A 10 minute drive from the heart of New Paltz yet a world away from it all. Such a cool mix of forested land and open farm fields. Clean streams to fish and swim in. Parks with thousands of protected acres like the Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park are a bike ride away from here. There you'll find the Shawangunk Ridge and all of the beauty it holds. Views from this ridge west to the Catskill Mtns will impress you. The countless miles of old carriage trails will wear you out. You'll find many excellent restaurants in the village of High Falls and in New Paltz which is exit 18 on NYS I-87. We're only 1 1/2 hours from the heart of NYC. Come play!
