Indiana House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths, (Comfortably Sleeps 7-9)

Only one opening left this summer: Monday - Friday, August 8 - 12. Rate is $900.

If you'd like, feel free to contact us to book direct and avoid the new VRBO service fee.

Check out the new interior pictures. Just finished installing new hardwood floors throughout the main level, remodeled 1/2 bath, new family room furniture, and fresh paint.

Great Jimmerson Lake home perfect for families or extended families. 2,000 square foot, 3 bedroom + den, 2.5 bath home on large 1/2 acre lot. Nice views of Jimmerson Lake with your own dock space to access Jimmerson Lake and the entire 2,000 acre Lake James chain. The home was built in 2001 and has always been family owned. It’s been lovingly maintained, is super clean, and in great shape. Wonderful location for visiting Angola, Pokagon State Park, and the Lake James chain. Walking distance to the restaurants and bars in 'downtown Lake James', but far enough that it is quiet and private.

Comfortably sleeps 9. The master bedroom is on the main floor and features a new king bed and attached master bath with large soaker tub and separate shower. There are two large bedrooms upstairs – one with a queen bed and attached full bath and one with a queen bed and a twin bed. There is also a relatively private den with a queen size pullout sofa.

This is a true year-round home, not just a summer lake cottage. It has everything you'd expect in a real home. Well-stocked kitchen with newer appliances and all the cooking and dining utensils you should need (settings for 12 people). We supply bed linens and bath towels. You will need to provide beach towels. Two HDTVs (46" and 32") with DVD players. Washer and dryer are provided on site. Central A/C and heat. Driveway provides off-street parking for at least 4 vehicles and room for your boat trailer.

Speaking of boat trailer, this a perfect place for boaters! You have two dock spaces right in your backyard to accommodate pontoons up to about 24' and speed boats or fishing boats up to about 20'. If you don't have your own, you can rent pontoons or fishing boats down the street at 'Corner Landing'. As part of the Lake James chain, you have access to over 2,000 acres of water on 5 lakes: Lake James, Jimmerson Lake, Snow Lake, Big Otter Lake, and Little Otter Lake (the first three are all sports lakes). The Lake James chain offers great swimming at several sandy public beaches and sand bars, tubing, skiing, and of course fishing. The house is located on a channel only 3 homes from the main part of Jimmerson Lake and a 5 minute ride to Lake James.

The large 1/2 acre lot gives you plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors with a family cookout, bonfire, or lawn games. The house has a large deck, several sets of tables and chairs, a charcoal grill, and a fire pit. Wildlife frequent the area including heron, swans, ducks, turtles, and deer.

The location is quiet but still very convenient – just a few minutes from I-69 or the Indiana toll road and walking distance to downtown Lake James with its restaurants and bars (Mad Anthony Lakeview Ale House, Tom’s Donuts, Acapulco Mexican Grill, Club Paradise). It’s also just a few miles from Indiana’s best state park, Pokagon, which features beaches, hiking, and a toboggan run in the winter. Also nearby is the town of Angola with its cute downtown square, ice cream shops, mini-golf, Trine University, Fremont outlet mall, Satek Winery, Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve, and golf courses including Glendarin Hills, Zollner, and Lake James.

This is not just a summer getaway. In the fall, you will find beautiful colors, great fishing, and you can still take the boat out for one last ride. When winter rolls around, it is time to go tobogganing at Pokagon State Park. Ice fishing, sledding, and snowmobiling are also popular winter activities. Spring is a great time for fishing, hiking, and that first boat outing of the year.

Popular day trips include Auburn Cord Duesenberg Auto Museum (25 minutes), Shipshewana / Middlebury Amish country (40 minutes), Fort Wayne / Fort Wayne Zoo (45 minutes), South Bend (1 hour), Lake Michigan beaches at Indiana Dunes or Warren Dunes (1 hour 45 minutes), Lake Erie beaches at Maumee Bay State Park (1 hour 45 minutes), Sandusky / Cedar Point / Lake Erie Islands (2 hours), Detroit / Greenfield Village (2 hours), Indianapolis (2.5 hours), and Chicago (3 hours).

This is a family home, not a party house. If you're looking for a place to party at the lake, please look elsewhere. If you're looking for a nice home that has been shown a lot of love and attention, this is the place for you!

Our goal is to do everything we can to ensure you have a great vacation. We provide a folder with our recommendations for local activities and dining to get you started and we're happy to answer any further questions. Just call or email. Thanks for looking!

Why The Owner chose Indiana

We live in Holland, Michigan now, but grew up in Chicago (Erik) and Northwest Ohio (Tina) and still have family in those areas. So when we were looking for a location for a second home, Angola was the perfect spot - 2 hours from Holland, 3 hours from Chicago, and right next to Northwest Ohio. Oh, and there just so happens to be a great lake right in the backyard!!!

What makes this house unique

When we're at the home, a typical day goes like this:

Get up and take a short walk to Tom's Donuts for some of the best donuts you'll ever taste.

Take the boat out for a quick spin - maybe tube a little.

Back home for lunch and to pack up for an afternoon on the lake.

Head to a sand bar on Lake James or Jimmerson Lake where we let our 7 year old daughter splash around while we hang out with friends and family.

Back home to clean up and then off to dinner at a local restaurant or perhaps just stay home and grill something on the charcoal grill.

Finish the day with a bonfire or movie.

Over Too Fast!!!

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a week at the lake and I'm missing it already. This place was AMAZING. Tina was prompt with responses and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.

The house is CLEAN and incredibly comfortable. We had 5 adults and 2 kids in the house and there was plenty of space. The back deck is huge and we spent a lot of time enjoying the quietness and tranquility of the lake. Fishing off the dock was relaxing. The bonus den space was great - my kids set up their toys and books in there and had a good place that they could hang out. Quick trip to Tom's Donuts, the outlets, Pokagon, Shipshewana and all the rest the area has to offer while being tucked away from some of the more hectic areas of the lake.

While saying goodbye in the driveway we were already planning to come back next year - my only hesitancy to review this place is wanting to make sure there's an open week next year for us.

Tina - thank you so much. We will be back!!!

Clean and Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Lovely house, very clean, with a great view and a quiet location. We had the wow factor when we walked in. The only negative is that we had to do quite a bit of cleanup before leaving the house. But that was not a big deal considering what we got.

We will definitely be returning.

Jimmerson Lake Channel Front home

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 stayed in this home along with my parents. There were 3 bedrooms that were able to easily accommodate us all. We didn't even use the pullout in the den. The kitchen was spacious and easily usable. The house was clean and had minimal items to do before checking out. We ate outside every meal and were able to see the main lake. The kids enjoyed roasting s'mores over a campfire. Our 21.5' boat fit snugly at the dock, but did not have any problems. We had a great time exploring Jimmerson Lake, Lake James, and Snow Lake. Our 5 year old and 4 year old also learned to knee board while we were there. We ate at Tom's Donuts, which are an absolute must! We had a wonderful weekend.

Jimmerson Lake House - TwoThumbs Up

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was great and the size and spaciousness of the house was perfect for our family. Two adults and three children fit perfectly and our two daughters were able to share one room with two beds and our son had a room to himself. I love how the master is downstairs and the kids have their space upstairs. We took advantage of the fire pit and boat dock, just wish we could have stayed longer than a week!!

The house was very clean, we just had to buy our own toilet paper and laundry detergent. My son was very worried about not having Wi-Fi but since we were visiting family in town we weren't there a whole lot. If we were at the house more, Wi-Fi would've been nice.

Jimmerson Gem!

  • 5 of 5

I selected well when I chose this beauty for the celebration of our daughter's graduation from nursing school!

We were coming from different parts of the country although we knew we wanted to spend as much time together as we could. We all fell in love with the peaceful tranquility that surrounded us and there was more than enough space for the seven of us. Tina was great to work with and responded to any inquiry promptly. I have recommend this home to family and friends and I know there will be more visitors soon! The other attributes of the lake area is that you are not totally isolated as there are restaurants, grocery stores and a recently build Dollar General very near by for all your needs. Plenty to see and do here if that is your desire. You can rent a pontoon boat for a day and float around on the water which I highly recommend doing. Nothing quite like it. This home does not have internet or cable and I agree with the owners regarding that decision. So much to enjoy with the surroundings and splendor, it is not needed or missed. There are however, plenty of DVD movies to watch and a large supply of games which is very thoughtful. We especially loved the fire-pit as this was an essential point of our stay. Thank you Tina for sharing your home!

Very nice

  • 4 of 5

The house was easy to relax in. Nice accommodations, it had everything we needed. It was also close to several local restaurants and an easy drive to Angola.
