Spacious and an amazing value

  • 5 of 5

We came for my niece's graduation. The view and locations were breathtaking. It was a bit sparse in terms of furniture but no one minded. We had 6 teenaged boys and between the racquetball, basketball, hiking trails, football and just running around we almost didn't see them.

That is a testament to a great vacation home-this house provided enough to see and do that everyone ended up having a great time.

We stay someplace like this every other year and this is one of the best values for the money that I have seen.

Can be great when completed.

  • 3 of 5

We stayed here for the christmas weekend. This house would be 5 star if completed. Very big and spacious but a very empty feeling to it. The coziest place was the master bedroom but we did not plan on using only that room. Alot of unfinished construction which included electrical outlets (which I could not under stand why their were so many)that were open, hard to have a 1 yr old wonder in the day area because of it. Trash/recycle bins were full when we got there. Heating is only set up in bed rooms again not where we wanted to spend most our time. Had a stove fire place on 1st floor that worked when it wanted too. Was not told to make sure my vehicle was 4x4 to be able to come up the drive way as I rented a caravan. Was told it was plowed two days before my arrival. Thank god I had a family member who lived near by who was willing to stay with us just to shuttle us to and from our vehicle when was needed. Drive way is about 1.5 mi long. My suggestion would have been to have a plow truck on property for renters to use as needed. Rec area, tv room, dinning and kitchen areas were just to cold who wants to wear their winter gear indoors to watch tv not me for sure. Would come back if was fully completed but definitely not during the winter.

cool needs improvement

  • 4 of 5

We went out for the thanksgiving weekend had a blast. Only an hour out of Spokane which was nice. The space in front of the house was ideal for our annual football game. ended up playing racket ball, basketball, and foosball a ton in the gym/rec area. There was only one couch in the whole house kind of a disappointment there but, we made due with the second table and chairs. Would've been super cool to use the pool but looks to be currently under construction. My wife and I walked around the trail near the house went down to the creek and just took in the scenery (beautiful). We always have a great time when we get together as a family about 22 of us including kids. I definitely would suggest this house if you got a big family like ours.

Disappointed

  • 1 of 5

We were very disappointed in this lodge. Upon arrival the floors were dirty, counters were filthy with crumbs and a sticky feel and mouse dropings. There is a horrible smell coming from under the sink and what looks like mold growing under there. The "pantry room" seemed like it hasn't been cleaned In years, very dirty and food that expired years ago. The swamp a/c leaks onto the deck below. We booked this to have an outdoor reception but the yard was not mowed when promised, they showed up the day of which was too late. The yard also had a lot of trash that we spent an hour cleaning. The hot tub was too gross to use which was very disappointing. There are more things to list but these are the main reasons we would not recommend this lodge. When I voiced my concern that we paid a cleaning fee yet we spent several hours cleaning it upon arrival all I was offered was a "I guess I need to talk to my cleaning lady" VERY disappointed.

Dirty spacious house!

  • 1 of 5

Have to say we were disappointed with your house. Probably could have over looked a lot of it if your house was at least clean...but it wasn't.

-The front door was consistently hard to open

-The fridge and freezer were dirty (I didn't clean it)

-The stove wasn't clean

-the bbq was dirty and the wire cleaning brush didn't have any wire left on it to use.

-there wasn't enough coffee mugs

-a lot of the electricity outlets didn't work

-dust everywhere

-many broken screens

-several live hornets nests attached to the house

-garbage was left outside from the last guest

-old garbage piled in the pool heater

-carpets were filthy

-not enough face clothes

-no extra rolls of Toilet paper left out

-swamp cooler hose was broken, excessive water leaking on deck

-many fake rose pedals left on the lawn from previous guests

Was quite surprised to hear you even have a cleaning lady.

Owner's Response: I am not sure how best to respond to this negative review. I do not think the physical condition of the lodge is the main problem here but I will not speculate as to what all is/was actually in play. I will provide the following: All bathroom and bedroom linens are washed and beds made before each guest visits. Carpets are not filthy but used and have some stains here and there from guest spills. They are vacuumed before each new guest arrives. Kitchen and appliances are cleaned before each new guest arrives. It is true that the oven and interior of fridge were not spotless for this guest but there was nothing unsanitary. More mugs and face clothes will be added. The garden hose leak was an easy fix and the front door latch problem developed during this guest’s stay and has been fixed. There are over 100 electrical outlets all working fine (not sure what that complaint was except maybe a GFI was tripped in kitchen). Garbage bins are remote from entryway and emptied regularly. Every house has dust and dusting is done regularly. If anyone has concerns or questions related to any of this then please contact the owner prior to booking. Most guests (more than 90%) are very positive about their visit and about the facility and several have booked return visits. Here are partial excerpts of what was provided to this guest: “I am sorry the place was not clean enough and new enough for you. That is one of the reasons that the rates are lower, because it is not new or looking new. Again, I am sorry and disappointed that your visit was such a big disappointment to you. And my cleaning lady is hardworking and does a good job even if not perfect. It takes about 8 hours of work to do the normal cleaning after each guest leaves. Sometimes she does more and sometimes she does less (when there is not time for more).”

A Beautiful Mountain Mansion

  • 5 of 5

The photos on this profile just don't fully convey the scale and beauty of this home.

We had plenty of space for 22 men to run around, and our expectations were exceeded in every way. We look forward to going back next year.
