I'm happy to give recommendations and even a little historical perspective to those who ask. I am third generation Mill Valley, raising my children (The fourth generation) in this idyllic town that we are grateful to call home. I look forward to having you here as our guest.
Gary Ferroni purchased this apartment in 1999
Guests love our location and the the fine interior appointments. Just 15 minutes to San Francisco and 50 to the Napa Valley Wine Country! Arguably the best rental to use as a "home-base" and conveniently participate in all of the best that the city of Mill Valley, the Bay Area and environs has to offer.
Our rental is especially rare since it's IN THE DOWNTOWN! Moreover, three bedroom rentals with two full baths located here are extremely hard to come by.
Our guests say that it's everyone's favorite place to meet when friends and family are either visiting or staying in the area. Convenient, comfortable and fun are our hallmarks!
The place was perfect for our needs. It was bright, clean and cheerful. A wonderful experience in Mill Valley.
We had a wonderful stay in this awesome home! Very comfortable, relaxing stay. The home was perfect - warm and cozy! Very clean and everything was there that we could possibly need, even bicycles for getting around town. Coming from Dallas, we were excited to visit the San Francisco area and get away from the Texas heat. I fell in love with the quaint town of Mill Valley! Stayed one day in the "City" first and so glad we ventured out for the rest of the trip and stayed in Mill Valley. It was so warm, friendly and relaxing. Lots of great restaurants, shops and beautiful scenery within walking distance. We were even told to visit the Mill Valley library, which was unbelievable. A cute little library with fireplace...all surrounded by the big beautiful trees. On our walk there was a nice little playground for the kids as well. Don't forget to get ice cream at the local ice cream place -- to die for. Overall, we had a wonderful stay in a wonderful location! Great trip!!
From inquiry to departure all went perfectly smooth! Gary was quick to respond and a pleasure to deal with every step of the way.
We also loved the location. Mill Valley is a charming little village with plenty of quirky shops and cafes, a great little market and a wonderful little music venue; all within easy walking distance. The house is clean, well equipped, nicely decorated, comfortable and very cozy.
The bottle of wine and chocolates waiting for us upon arrival was also a nice touch!
Our group stayed in 3 rentals while visiting California and Garys place in Mill Valley was definitely our favorite!
We highly recommend it.
This was a perfect location for our family to stay during wedding festivities for our son! The rental was right in the heart of downtown Mill Valley and we could walk everywhere! We even walked to the wedding venue! We had everything we needed at the rental and Gary added some really nice unexpected touches! We highly recommend this rental for anyone staying in Mill Valley.
The place was everything and more. The location was perfection for the wedding that we were a part at the outdoor art club. We utilized the outdoor space and family dropped by throughout the day. Gary was an excellent host and if I ever had the need for a Mill Valley location again I'd be there again. Everything we needed was within walking distance. Thanks for everything Gary.
We are a family from Mill Valley that moved away and returned for a visit with friends and family. Gary's place was amazing for us. The location was ideal with easy access to all of the shops and restaurants in mill valley. The apartment is very comfortably furnished and Gary thought of everything in terms of the little things that make a week-long stay much more pleasant - soap and shampoo in the bathrooms, dish soap, washing powder and even a welcome package of coffee, wine, chips, etc. We hope to stay there again in the future and have nothing but positive memories of the experience.
Mill Valley is a picturesque California town of 14,000 residents and creative hideaway situated on the eastern slope of Mount Tamalpais. Nestled among redwoods, hills and canyons, Mill Valley is only ten minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge and City of San Francisco, yet less than one hour from the Sonoma and Napa Valley Wine Country. Smithsonian Magazine named Mill Valley one (No. 4) of the 20 best small towns--with a population under 25,000--in America.
What sets Historical Mill Valley apart is not just the spectacular physical beauty of its setting, but equally its human environment-uniquely combining tranquility and liveliness, privacy and community involvement, urban sophistication and village charm. Starting in 1905 with The Dipsea Race, the first cross-country race in the country, Mill Valley has a rich cultural tradition with the Mountain Play in 1913, the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival in 1957, the Marin Theatre Company, a professional regional theatre in 1966, the Mill Valley Film Festival in 1978 and the 142 Throckmorton Theatre since (website hidden)-opened in February 2012, after a lengthly absence, is the Sweetwater Music Hall located in the remodeled Masonic Hall, located two blocks from the Rental.
Mill Valley is flanked by the picturesque City of Sausalito, 10 minutes south and the Town of Tiburon 10 minutes east with Angel Island State Park only a one mile ride (via Angel Island-Tiburon Ferry), all on San Francisco Bay. Although Mill Valley is close to San Francisco, it is adjacent to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and only 10 minutes to the Muir Woods National Monument and Tennessee Valley Trail head, 20 minutes to Muir Beach, or Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, 30 minutes to Stinson Beach and less than an hour to Point Reyes National Seashore.
Although one recommends longer stays, Mill Valley is 2-1/2 hours to Monterrey and Carmel and four hours to spectacular Lake Tahoe or Yosemite National Park; Yosemite Valley should be on your 'bucket list' and, especially during late spring, one of the most beautiful places in the world.
