100+ acre vineyard estate at 2500 feet elevation overlooking a stunning valley below. The house is located in the hills above Hopland, which is about 30 minutes north of Healdsburg, overlooking the entire Upper Russian River Wine Valley. Tranquility awaits on this peaceful estate that borders thousands of acres of national forest. Relax on the patio while taking in the view and watching the eagles and hawks glide by your eyes.
Ultramodern house completed in 2011 has radiant heat in concrete floors with a gourmet kitchen. The entire south wall of the house is floor to ceiling glass with amazing views from every room.
Each of the three bedrooms and the living room has a set of double doors that opens up onto the patio. Each room also has a spectacular view of mountains and vineyards and you can see it all from bed when you wake up in the morning.
Wood burning fireplace (wood stove) creates warm fires on cool nights and makes for a lovely time with friends enjoying the local wines.
The stargazing at the house is amazing.
The master bath has queen bed and walk in closet. Each of the other two bedrooms also has a queen bed. The den has a full size pullout sofabed.
On site caretaker is available to answer questions and make sure you are well taken care of during your visit.

We live in San Francisco and this is our second home. Our son keeps us in SF most of the time, so we decided to rent out or second home from time to time.
peter purchased this estate in 2005
It is very peaceful and an easy freeway drive from San Francisco, much easier to get to than Napa.
The property abuts federal forest land and is very serene and peaceful. You are on top of the world. Morning you can wake to find yourself above the clouds in the valley below.
"Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and our friends. It was breathtakingly amazing! I loved waking up each morning to the gorgeous view! It was also very peaceful, ... it was just what we needed. It was definitely an experience that we were all so happy to have, and I felt so lucky to have found you and your home! ... we had a private yoga instructor come in from Ukiah to give us a beautiful morning flow. It was perfect!"
The stars at night were spectacular! Lock on gate is finicky, but after a few times opening and closing it you get the hang of it :-)
The property itself was gorgeous and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect view. It's a nice, quiet retreat where you can see the stars at night and wake up to a breathtaking view of the hills. The house was unfortunately not well prepared for guests, which is why I'm only giving it 2 stars.
1. The gate code Peter emailed me was incorrect and outdated, and we subsequently spent several hours stuck outside the gate. A friend had to jog a mile or so up the hill to get to the house, where we hoped to find Peter's phone number in the house instructions. We also were not told where the lockbox with the house key was. It was very hidden and had trouble finding it. Finally, several hours later, a groundskeeper saw us and let us in.
2. There was no toilet paper when we arrived and no open stores within a short drive from us.
3. The gas was not turned on prior to our arrival, so we were not able to use the stove to cook dinner or get hot water until hours later. We couldn't eat dinner or shower until late at night when we were already exhausted from sitting out the in the sun waiting at the gate.
4. And to top it off, the security alarm went off every half hour or so (the security alarm does not actually alert anyone, by the way. We came back from floating the river and assumed the alarm had been going off for several hours, but no one came to the house).
The home is exactly as described - beautiful views and a relaxing retreat. The owner Peter was very responsive to all of our questions and needs. 8 of us fit comfortably in the space. We also had a great time going to wineries in the area on our way up to the house. I would definitely stay here again!
Description and pictures are accurate, nice "great room" area combining kitchen, family room, and dining room with all glass wall views along 2 walls of the "great room". Helpful instructions to turn on the water and other utilities. The views are spectacular. The location is secluded. No internet or wifi provided which can be challenging if you weren't expecting it. Was clean and presentable with some amount of bugs throughout which might be expected given the location. Towels were provided but no toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc). About 10-15 minutes to get down to Hopland for food. Owner was responsive to emails.
We came with our 2 children ages 9 and 10 and another couple. The 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and getting away from it all. The views and sunsets were spectacular and the house was full of light. The beds were supercomfortable and the kitchen was completely outfitted and very functional. We had a great time relaxing, cooking and eating together.
We shared an all too quick weekend with our adult children at this wonderful home. The views! The peace- this is a place to find your mind and soul! Accommodations were great-loved the beds and bedding - we enjoyed local vineyards by day and bought great food with us to prepare for dinner. The kitchen was stocked well with cooking and serving accessories and enjoyed our meals at a large dining table. We cannot wait to return.
