100+ acre vineyard estate at 2500 feet elevation overlooking a stunning valley below. The house is located in the hills above Hopland, which is about 30 minutes north of Healdsburg, overlooking the entire Upper Russian River Wine Valley. Tranquility awaits on this peaceful estate that borders thousands of acres of national forest. Relax on the patio while taking in the view and watching the eagles and hawks glide by your eyes.
Ultramodern house completed in 2011 has radiant heat in concrete floors with a gourmet kitchen. The entire south wall of the house is floor to ceiling glass with amazing views from every room.
Each of the three bedrooms and the living room has a set of double doors that opens up onto the patio. Each room also has a spectacular view of mountains and vineyards and you can see it all from bed when you wake up in the morning.
Wood burning fireplace (wood stove) creates warm fires on cool nights and makes for a lovely time with friends enjoying the local wines.
The stargazing at the house is amazing.
The master bath has queen bed and walk in closet. Each of the other two bedrooms also has a queen bed. The den has a full size pullout sofabed.
On site caretaker is available to answer questions and make sure you are well taken care of during your visit.

We live in San Francisco and this is our second home. Our son keeps us in SF most of the time, so we decided to rent out or second home from time to time.
peter purchased this estate in 2005
It is very peaceful and an easy freeway drive from San Francisco, much easier to get to than Napa.
The property abuts federal forest land and is very serene and peaceful. You are on top of the world. Morning you can wake to find yourself above the clouds in the valley below.
"Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and our friends. It was breathtakingly amazing! I loved waking up each morning to the gorgeous view! It was also very peaceful, ... it was just what we needed. It was definitely an experience that we were all so happy to have, and I felt so lucky to have found you and your home! ... we had a private yoga instructor come in from Ukiah to give us a beautiful morning flow. It was perfect!"
Description and pictures are accurate, nice "great room" area combining kitchen, family room, and dining room with all glass wall views along 2 walls of the "great room". Helpful instructions to turn on the water and other utilities. The views are spectacular. The location is secluded. No internet or wifi provided which can be challenging if you weren't expecting it. Was clean and presentable with some amount of bugs throughout which might be expected given the location. Towels were provided but no toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc). About 10-15 minutes to get down to Hopland for food. Owner was responsive to emails.
We came with our 2 children ages 9 and 10 and another couple. The 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and getting away from it all. The views and sunsets were spectacular and the house was full of light. The beds were supercomfortable and the kitchen was completely outfitted and very functional. We had a great time relaxing, cooking and eating together.
We shared an all too quick weekend with our adult children at this wonderful home. The views! The peace- this is a place to find your mind and soul! Accommodations were great-loved the beds and bedding - we enjoyed local vineyards by day and bought great food with us to prepare for dinner. The kitchen was stocked well with cooking and serving accessories and enjoyed our meals at a large dining table. We cannot wait to return.
I came with a mix of couples and single friends for a wedding in the region. We wanted to be close to the venue. It was more cost effective to rent this house than to pay for hotel rooms considerably further away. The road is reminiscent of the "Road to Hana" so you must have a sober driver. However, once you reach the top of the mountain, the view is spectacular. The property is well maintained, and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is more than adequate. Shop for food and beverages prior to arriving in Hopland as there is not much offered locally.
I came with 8 other women for a bachelorette party. The house comfortably slept all of us (in shared beds) and there were plenty of cooking/eating/linen materials for our group. The views are breathtaking, and the proximity to Hopland wineries is a big plus (I much prefer Hopland wineries to Napa or Sonoma because they are more affordable, far better service, and more relaxed- yet equally beautiful). The staff was responsive and the directions were accurate. The house is off a 1 mile dirt road, so do follow their advice and don't plan to drive on the dirt roads after 10. Otherwise, great house!
I have to say I was a bit surprised by the location and setup of the house as I expected a bit more style. The home is as advertised, quiet, off the beaten path, great views, and close to nature. You need to be ready for the drive to the house, the roads are winding, the dirt road up the hill is not set up for sports cars, and you need to deal with the manual gate coming and going. You're going to get a dirty car so be prepared.
I was disappointed with the quality and set up at the home. I would call the furniture Ikea like, not bad furniture, just not lush. The floors are concrete so you are walking around on colored concrete floors, no carpets, or hardwoods. We had to clean the house on arrival, since you are so close to nature you get a lot of bugs, spiders, and dust. Not sure the cleaners did a good job, we let the property manager know there was an issue.
The supply of glasses, wine glasses, pots and pans, etc. could use an updating. It was difficult to cook, one of the frying pans was probably toxic and should not be used. The coffee pot did not work, it came on, bubbled, and made lots of noise, but never processed the water. Could be user error but 4 adults could not make it work.
It took me 30 minutes to clean the BBQ, pretty sure the cleaners don't clean it at all. Again the property manager was supportive and was following up with the cleaners. Be prepared to bring your own laundry soap, bathroom supplies, ironing board, spices, and tissues. Not all homes have these types of supplies when renting but for this amount of money I assumed they would have those items.
If you like remote this is definitely the place for you, there is lots of room, areas for hiking, lovely views, and no noise. We didn't see too many animals but did spend some time cleaning up coyote scat so you know they are around. Lots of birds to observe. No people to bother you at all, neighbors are quiet too.
Finally, I don't want to be so negative but my expectations were very different than what this location provided. I think you will enjoy it more if you bring board games, cards, puzzles, etc. There is a TV in a small room, I think it was supposed to be the laundry room, but it doesn't get a lot of channels and the room only holds a few people so the cards and board games will be important. Like I said, if you like quiet and remote this location is perfect.
