Cottage bliss!! Just loved staying in this well maintained spotless 2 bed room getaway. Updated kitchen and bath with heated floors that we loved waking up to on a cool crisp morning. No need for a car, you can walk to local restaurants, pubs and shopping or the Equinox Hotel to be pampered with a spa treatment. Go for a hike on the well marked trails with gorgeous panoramic views. Can not say enough about the accommodations, price can't be beat compared to the local hotels, a winner! The owner could not be more helpful, will definitely go back.

A Great Getaway In Manchester Village...Already Planning A Return Visit!

  • 5 of 5

Whether you call it a cozy cottage or a ski chalet, this home's location is perfect! We strolled to and from the Equinox Resort for dinner and drinks. We enjoyed a 5 mile hike and soaked up the scenic views. The cottage itself is 2 stories with a comfortably sized living area on the first level with heated floors and nicely renovated Kitchen and Bath. There are 2 BRs upstairs. The cottage offers great value. Local hotels and inns are significantly more expensive. It's just a short drive to all of the outlets in the village. There are great restaurants and pubs nearby that the owner shared with us. He was very knowledgeable and responsive. We intend to return with friends once or twice during the winter months and probably next August when we can drive to Saratoga for thoroughbred racing. Can't say enough about this experience...

Delightful cottage

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a lovely few days at this adorable cottage. The property is located within walking distance to the Equinox Hotel where we enjoyed dinner and spa treatments. Perfect location for hiking Mount Equinox (just outside the front door) and a nice walk to shopping and local restaurants.

The cottage is very well maintained. Two bedrooms on the second floor and a living/dining room, kitchen and bath on the first floor. Lovely yard with mountain views. The kitchen and bathroom are new and spotless. The heated floors in the bathroom and kitchen were a pleasant surprise in the morning.

The local hotels charge twice the price of this cottage just for a room, so this place more than fit our budget. The owner was pleasant and very helpful with directions and suggestions for local dining. We will definitely be back.

Cramped and unclean

  • 2 of 5

When we arrived, I opened the freezer for ice and there was a large dead moth in the ice cube tray. The chandelier over the dining room table had cobwebs on it. When I went looking for a blanket for the pullout couch there was none in sight. When I opened the attic closet I found a large comforter thrown in a pile on the dusty, dirty floor. The bedroom was absolutely tiny, couldn't even open a suitcase in it and when I stood up I banged my head on the ceiling. The staircase was very steep and unsafe, as it had no railing at the top where you walked from the hall down the stairs. The TV in the family room was old and tiny, less than 20 inches across, so small that the several people seated in the room all had to sit on one sofa in order to view the program. The front and back doors had no curtains or shades, leaving the person sleeping on the pullout in the family room feeling very exposed. The coup de grace, for me, however, was when I went to make coffee the next morning and there was disgusting old coffee in the coffeemaker. In addition, the bathroom had neither soap ( even hotels provide soap) nor a cup to use. The molded shower floor was extremely slippery & should have had a rubber mat for safety. My prior experiences with VRBO were much more positive than this. This rental was expensive, uncomfortable, unclean, and unsatisfactory. My family left a full day before our rental ended due to our dissatisfaction with the accommodations. Forewarned is forearmed. I wish I had more accurate information before I rented.

Owner's Response: Incredibly unfair and inaccurate review. As you can see from the site, we've received dozens of very positive and complimentary reviews over the past few years and not one had an issue with the cleanliness of the property. In fact, almost every one of the reviewers provided five stars and we have consistently averaged five stars. Many of our guests have returned every year and we love sharing this special property with them. We find it interesting that dozens of our guests over a five year period have provided exceptionally positive comments with five stars as the average and this review is completely inconsistent with every one of them. Do you? We inspected the property before and after your stay. The bathroom was clean. The shower was spotless. There was a basket with bathroom products, including soap, in the cabinet under the sink. If you had called, I could have informed you of this. The chandelier in the dining room had some small particles from a cleaning tool on it. There were no cobwebs. The down comforter was neatly folded and stored in a clean storage closet in the master bedroom. We've used the same professional cleaning service for five years and they have always left the property immaculate after each guest. With all of that said, we do appreciate the helpful and constructive feedback on the staircase and televisions. We have had a hand rail installed and have updated the televisions. When we spoke on the phone on the day of your arrival, I asked that you please call me if there were any concerns or needs when you arrived. If you had done so, I would have been able to remedy most of your many issues/complaints. However, I'm not so sure that anyone could have met your total expectation.

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is a lovely, charming abode and its central location can't be beat! We could walk to the Equinox hotel, shops or simply sit outside and enjoy the verdant yard. It's very relaxing and tastefully decorated. I've stayed here before and will do so again!

Perfect & Cozy in nice location

  • 5 of 5

Perfect retreat for my family of four after a day of skiing and site seeing. Very private, quiet and a convenient location to town. The cottage is very tastefully done and extremely cozy; a perfect fit for a long weekend. My only comment would be some upgrades to the TV's would be nice, however we weren't there for the television. Quite apparent that every detail was carefully seen to when the renovation was done. We liked the private driveway and it would certainly make for a great location when visiting in the none winter months as the town is an easy walk for sure. Comfortable & Clean, we would certainly rent it again!
