About Owner / Property Manager

We moved to Louisville from Colorado in 2006 with a 1.5 year old. Now we have 4 kids and love it here. We love the neighborhood this house is in and Louisville in general. It was quite a change to go from bears being on the back porch in Colorado to riding a bus to work and getting on an elevator to my office. Josh is an actuary (boring math stuff but hopefully not as nerdy as Ben Stiller in Along Came Polly) and Beth works with an organization to place foster children with adult mentors. We have 4 kids (now ages 3, 9, 11, and 12). We love good people, good beer, and good food and Louisville has all three.

Owner / Property Manager purchased this house in 2008

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Louisville

The house is almost 100 years old and has plenty of the original work and detail that makes it so charming. It also has some improvements from when we moved in, like a finished basement and more outdoor space (long story but our chickens burned down our garage and we didn't rebuild it). We like it better with more yard anyway.

What makes this house unique

This house is close to everything that our guests typically want to do. We are within 1-3 miles of Churchill Downs, downtown Louisville, Bardstown road area, the EXPO center, and the Convention Center, not to mention U of L if you want to catch any Cardinals (Go Cards!)sports games while you are here.

Beautiful old home

  • 4 of 5

A wonderfully stocked kitchen and lots of charm are the selling features of this wonderful old home. The owners seem to go to great lengths to ensure that visitors here have everything they'll need. As other reviews say, the floors do creak, but that's what old home floors do. The beds were a bit hard for our sleeping tastes, but that's personal preference, and my only reason for 4/5 instead of 5

Also, it's a really quick walk to Nord's for donuts in the morning and the Dairy Del in the evening, which makes this location all the more worth the stay.

Nice location and cool house

  • 5 of 5

Great location and such a neat home. Floors squeak but that only bothered the young ones trying to sleep downstairs. Great little bar (Zanzibar) only .5 away with a bakery and great coffee shop also only .5 miles away. Will stay here again if we come back next year... owners very responsive and friendly. A+++

Amazing Stay in Louisville, KY

  • 5 of 5

The process of choosing this home was easy and I was kept informed. Any question was answered quickly. A small situation occurred, a plumbing issue, the owner arrived promptly and repaired the issue without any issues. The house is amazing. I was renting this house for my daughter's wedding. I hosted the girls from the wedding, had room for breakfast, hair and dressing in addition to my guests overnight. Ample space, everything we reached for was available in the house. Josh and Beth are amazing. I had no problems with this stay and will stay again with Beth and Josh. The house is so beautiful and comfortable we did wedding pictures at this house!

Great, charming house in a wonderful neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Josh and Beth's house was a really lovely and nicely located place for our stay. We had nine gentlemen staying for a bachelor party/bourbon trail tour and we fit very comfortably. The Germantown neighborhood has some really great gems--such as a wonderful craft brewery in Monnik just steps away and a great donut shop/bakery that fed our hungry group pre-Bourbon tour. Josh and Beth were fantastic, responsive hosts. We loved our stay.

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was perfect in every way. Great location, walking distance to breakfast, dinner, and beer. Great neighborhood. We enjoyed gathering on the front porch every morning for coffee and every evening for cocktails. The creaky floors gave the house much character and reminded us that it was a much older home. With seven adults, we had an older couple in the bedroom downstairs close to a bathroom. The youngest couple stayed upstairs because they could handle the steep staircase. Another couple stayed on the main floor and I had a twin bed all to myself at the other end of the hall. And we still had room for more! The occasional plane flying over us did not bother us in anyway. The neighbors were friendly. The driveway held all four cars. We completed the Bourbon Trail and we each got the T-shirt! I would highly recommend this home for large gatherings and look forward to returning for the Urban Bourbon Trail with family and friends. Thank you so much for opening your lovely home to us!
