About Rose & Bruce Burke
Purchased Burke's Cottages in 1979. Lakeside in 1985 Always loved the Adirondacks and fell in love with Indian Lake!
Rose & Bruce Burke purchased this Cottage in 1985
Why Rose & Bruce Burke chose Hamilton County
The most beautiful lake - surrounded by wilderness - only 10% of the surrounding land is privately owned. Rose has been coming to the Adirondacks with her family since the mid fifties. Stayed in Mrs. Moorhouses' cottages with family in Lake George for years, then at McAveighs on Loon Lake every summer for another 4 years. Love the peace of the mountains, and the beauty of the lakes.
What makes this Cottage unique
Remote, but the hiking trails with magnificent views at trails end, exploring the nooks and crannies of the lakes, waterfalls and wilderness fill our hearts with peace and joy. We want to share these with you and your families as well!

Beautiful cottage, lake and location!
My family enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage is cozy and the lake is lovely. We did not have much luck catching fish. I would say the only downfall to this cottage is that there is not very much privacy.
Great spot and friendly hosts! Well maintained and right on the water! We hope to be back next year!
Great family getaway, fun had by all.
Great location, nice and clean!
The place was great! Nice swimming area. Docks had excellent fishing. Prepare to be off the grid, as cell service was did not exist. Beds were comfy. Porch was also excellent. All in all an exemplary stay.
Many hiking trails nearby including Bald Face Mountain, one of the five best mountain top views in the Adirondacks (per Adirondack Life Magazine). This mountain is via boat access only and directly opposite Burke's Cottages!
