About Nicolle and Robert

We work hard ... But have no fear we play hard too!

Whenever time allows, we can be found cooking up a fabulous concoction in the kitchen (red wine in hand) & we often share with our guests too;) or we may be out & about walking the rio grande with our 4 (yes! Four), four legged family: tucker, rio, bella and bo ... On many occasions, we visit the plethora of dog friendly restaurant patio's and can often be found on our bikes headed to a new SW Adventure in The Land Of Enchantment.

We absolutely love, love, love living in the south west & hope to share all of it's wonder & beauty with you!

Why Nicolle and Robert chose New Mexico

For some it is the peacefulness, for others the proximity to hiking trails. Most will mention the perfect weather, four distinct seasons without harsh extremes. But almost everyone's answer will include something about the views. Many homes look north toward the hills and mesas, all the way to the Jemez range and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains north of Santa Fe.

Others face the mountain, that smooth yet imposing spine of the Sandias which covers with snow in the winter. Some homes get both views. In another pleasant paradox of Placitas life, these comforting views are always the same, and yet they change constantly thanks to the sun's evolving angles and the seasonal rebirth of high desert flowers and shrubs.

With it's convenient proximity to both the Albuquerque-Rio Rancho metro area and Santa Fe, Placitas is recognized as a unique – and a uniquely situated – bedroom community for these areas.

Placitas bringsThe blessings of clean, fresh air, truly great neighbors, and the presence of the majestic Sandia mountains shielding you from the often intense bustle of Albuquerque. Placitas has created a peaceful setting and provided all the best elements.

While driving through Albuquerque into Placitas, One might marvel at the way their spirit will be transformed upon entering this serene and magical place.

Breath deeply and allow the tranquil beauty of the pinon and juniper studded hills melt away any tension.

It is Natural New Mexico, nothing artificial, contrived or out of place.

Yes, as far as we are concerned, Placitas has it all.

Enjoyed frequent outings to the Jemez Mountains, a spectacular 45-minute drive from Placitas. The dances and feast days at Jemez Pueblo are surreal. Jemez Hot Springs is a natural retreat for restoring body and mind.

What makes this house unique

I Know we have said it ... But The Views are OUTSTANDING and it so peaceful & serene!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. It was comfortable for our group of five. You thought of everything and the extra's were very much appreciated.

The location was perfect for day trips to Santa Fe,Albuquerque etc.

Very peaceful and relaxing surroundings and well appointed & decorated. The upscale style was great and we felt spoiled.

Nicolle is a great host and went the extra mile to ensure we knew where everything was & how it worked. She provided great tips on restaurants ... We recommend : The Range & The Merc (groceries & deli).

Again, top notch & Beautiful. We wish we could stay longer! we will definitely re-book the next time we come to New Mexico!!!

Thank You & Hook'em Horns

Most Amazing House Ever

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at many houses around the country and both my husband and I agree that this is the most beautiful we have stayed in. The attention to detail and the warm atmosphere make it feel more like a home than a rental. Entering the home with all the lights on and the soft music playing made it so inviting. Nicolle is wonderful and meets the renters every need. She was always available to answer questions and never made you feel like a bother. She made you feel that she appreciated you renting from her as much as you loved staying at the property. We would definitely rent this property again.

Great house, convenient location, beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to soft music playing in the background and a welcome gift of champagne, chips and salsa on the island in the kitchen (nice touch!). The house was nicely decorated, very clean and organized. It was a perfect size for our 6 adults and 2 small dogs. We enjoyed morning walks in the area with beautiful views and all of the people in the area were extremely friendly. The house was also great for simply relaxing on the patio with a fire pit (starter logs and wood were provided) and beautiful mountain views. We also used the gas grill during our stay which worked out well.

We selected the location between Albuquerque and Santa Fe and it worked out well. We enjoyed Old Town ABQ, local casinos, a Breaking Bad tour (which we did ourselves with an app we downloaded) and some of the local restaurants and micro breweries in ABQ. One of the highlights was the Sandia Peak Tramway which I highly recommend. The ride offered some of the most beautiful views I've experienced. We also visited Santa Fe Plaza where there was some great shopping, restaurants and beautiful old churches.

Nicolle made some very good suggestions regarding local dining options and was very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. I definitely recommend visiting the Placitas Cafe for breakfast. I had the breakfast burrito and it was great! We enjoyed the humor of the Irish brothers who own the cafe, especially the little guy who's a retired manager of an RV dealership (sorry, I forgot his name).

The only issue we had during our stay was that many of the blinds in the house didn't function properly and were in need of replacement. Nicolle said they are planning to replace them.

I highly recommend Casa de Cielo and would imagine that any of Nicolle & Robert's other properties would be a great choice as well.

Awesome house size and layout. It was everything as described!

  • 5 of 5

We are 60 year old couples who greatly enjoyed the stay. We even saw the bobcat right out the picture window for 15 minutes. Accommodations were excellent as were the essentials. We enjoyed grilling outside almost nightly while sipping on gin & tonics enjoying the southwestern view. Great hospitality and communication as well.

Ask three Placitans what they like best about living in Placitas and you may get six different answers. One will say it is being so far from everything, another, being so close to everything — and both will be right.

But almost everyone's answer will include something about the views. Many homes look north toward the hills and mesas, all the way to the Jemez range and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains north of Santa Fe.
