Thank you for letting us enjoy your wonderful home in Antigua. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and Anna & Bigs Car Rental had everything ready for us. Anna & Peter made sure that take great care of us, as did Mary the housekeeper (who we feel in love with). The house was lovely inside and out, and I think it was the nicest we have ever stayed in. The downstairs people were on vacation most of the time so it was quiet and relaxing. We loved the people, history, beaches, and hiking. Hopefully, we can make it back again sometime.
Thank you once again,
Fantastic place to stay! We stayed here for Antigua Sailing week and it was perfect. We had our entire race team up to the Villa one night and everyone loved it and expressed interest in renting it. The owner is fantastic to deal with, house manager was so helpful. I cant say enough good about our stay. Everything was in working order. We would definitely come back again. There was everything we needed and more! Only thing I would recommend is to bring a blue tooth speaker with you for your music. There were movies and books available for your reading pleasure too!
The description is now more accurate for when we booked Villa Floriana we expected to have one house but on arrival it turned out to be a two bedroom apartment and there was a lower level rented out separately. We felt we had been misled by the description. In addition, there was no gas to the cooker when we arrived nor any toilet roll in one bathroom - so not a good start!
When originally set up the apartment had good quality equipment in the kitchen but this, like some other things, were now in need of maintenance. The property was up for sale and clearly needed work doing to bring it back to a satisfactory level. Outside around the pool the decking was rotting in places and needed new support timbers too. When we drew attention to the potential danger action was taken to start to rectify the situation - on the day we left. One of the wooden sun loungers was also broken. There was a severe shortage of water at the apartment but simple things that would have helped to save water like having plugs for the bathroom sinks were not available. The storage tank for the apartment incl. the pool had not been fully filled and so we had a couple of days unable to flush the toilets, have a shower, use the dishwasher or for the pool to operate properly. The manager Lily tried to mitigate the situation but water didn't arrive until 8am the following day and then we discovered that to fill the tank the pipe had to come through the main living room and one bed had to be moved as the pipe had to be put through the floor under the bed! Water should not be an extra to be paid for in our view - but sometimes guests are asked to do this - so we would advise potential guests to check their contract carefully.
Set on a hillside means there is a steep walk down to the restaurants at harbour level but it also meant that the music from around the harbour sounded very loud at the property and could go on into the early hours. There is a good range of places to eat and to visit in the area.
We could not recommend this property on the basis of our experience but we would certainly return to Antigua because it is a lovely island.
