Cahuita is a great little town and this house is a great place to stay
Nancy is a gracious host, brought us breakfast for our first morning and fruit throughout the week. The house is right on the ocean, a 5 min walk from a swimmable beach and bars/restaurants. House has everything you need and was clean on our arrival. Cant emphasize enough that Nancy is a wonderful host.
Nice of you to express your experience. We try hard. It was enjoyable to host you 2. Hope to see you again & or friends.
Incredible ocean front property!
We had such an incredible time staying here. Property was a little confusing to find when we first arrived, simply due to Costa Rica not using addresses. We ended up staying an additional night because we wanted to explore more. I really enjoy getting to know culture and people and not doing super touristy things, so this place provided that for us. Cahuita is a quaint little town that seems secluded, but there are still great things to do. Nancy gave us some great recommendations for food and drink and the do’s and dont’s of the area. We also had a wonderful time at the Tree of Life animal sanctuary down the road that Nancy also recommended. It’s a really incredible place to stay and relax. The porch was so nice to just sit out on and watch the waves. We played cards out there at night and it was purely therapeutic. Thank you again Nancy! We will definitely be staying again when we fly back to CR.
OH, How nice of you to receive the true experience of what I live everyday. Cahuita is a gem. Let us hope it is not raped as much as the rest of Costa Rica has. Natural
life forms is a must to perserve for our lives. Thank you for coming.
Had a fabulous time here!! Nancy was a perfect hostess and her property was beautiful. The house itself was very functional and comfortable, with incredibly beautiful accents. It is also close enough to town and to activities that options abound!!
I will definately consider this property for my future visits to Cahuita!!
It was a pleasure. WE had nice visits together. Come again.
Just stayed 8 nights in this beautiful house on the beach.....a short walk into the village of Cahuita and a multitude of restaurant and some small shops, and friendly people! As we like to prepare most of our meals, we enjoyed a kitchen well stocked with pots and pans, dishes, and necessary utensils. Most of our time was spent upstairs on the porch, enjoying the view of the waves crashing onto the rocky beach.......The woodwork in the house is beautiful, and the entire house has a tropical feel. The owner, Nancy, lives next door and besides stocking us with our first breakfast, is a good resource for the area as well as a gracious host.
While here we hiked Cahuita National Park up to Ponta Cahuita, toured the "Tree of Life" rescue center, the Sloth Sanctuary, the musee de Cacao, and a drive to Puerto Viejo to the South. This is our 3rd trip to Costa Rica and this has been one of the nicest rental experiences. Would definitely recommend!!
This house was fitted perfectly for our needs, cahuita is such a warm and pleasurable place to visit
After a month and half on this property, we didnt want to leave, the house fit us perfectly and nancy was the greatest person to rent from. Cahuita was a cute little town with everyone being so friendly. Transportation was cheap with easy access to many other beach front towns with the bus. Our food at restaurants was just perfect with no complaints and all the little cafes met our needs. Cahuita is a must on your vacation plans and nancys laugh will make ur day everyday... Lol Nancy lives next door so with a little howler shes there for ur every need......enjoy ur stay, we did!!!!
Loved having the 3 of you. I felt as though I lost my family when you left. PLEASE come again.
Amazing setting and equally amazing owner!
I was in charge of planning a trip to Costa Rica with my husband and our neighbors so that they could fulfill a lifelong bucket list dream of ziplining in Costa Rica. When they saw the photos of this home. and heard about all the area had to offer, they told me to look no further! Having never been to this part of the country, I was a bit nervous that it would live up to all they anticipated.
Upon arrival, and greeted personally by Nancy and a huge vase of red and pink ginger flowers that brightened the living room throughout our stay, we all agreed it far surpassed our expectations, and only got better and better as our 8-day respite continued! Nancy was the perfect hostess and we enjoyed getting to know her! There anytime, at a quick holler, if you needed her, and equally as courteous to allow you complete privacy if you preferred.
The setting and views were beautiful. My husband and I often opt for beachfront rentals when we travel but being both at the beach, as well as in a rain forest with all of the incredible sights and sounds it has to offer, was a dream come true!
The easy 5- minute walking distance to town and the bus station made anything we needed at our fingertips. Nancy was a wealth of information and suggestions for the area and everything was more than we could have wished for. The close proximity to Cahuita National Park further enhanced our sensory overload with the magnificent flower and foliage and unique animal/reptile/insect sightings it had to offer.
We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals in or supporting the local sodas and bakery for meals out. Nancy arranged for one of the locals to bring us coconuts and we enjoyed the fresh coconut jelly and liquid for days (yummy in smoothies and rum drinks! ;-). Another man, brought us fresh caught fish that we prepared for dinner.
Air conditioning was not necessary as the nights were quite cool and comfortable. We fell asleep soothed by the sound of the sea and awoke to howler monkeys and the many exotic birds singing. The black sand beach just a short walk up the road was lovely as was the golden beach in town next to the National Park.
We hope you take advantage of the opportunity yourselves one day soon! We highly recommend this property and hope to return and enjoy it again ourselves! Every activity is within reach and if you take advantage of the convenient local bus service, you can get around just fine on a budget too!
