Why Owner chose Gardiner
We love hiking, backpacking and skiing the backcountry of Montana, but nothing really compares to the sights and experiences of the Yellowstone area. It is one of the most unique and diverse environments on earth. We feel blessed to be able to visit the cabin often and love to share this opportunity with folks from around the country and around the world.
What makes this Cabin unique
Location, location, location. Views and more views. The cabin is located only 1500 ft from the Yellowstone National Park border and on the Yellowstone River. This unique location provides for abundant wildlife viewing before you even get to The Park. There is so much to do at the cabin without even getting in your car. There is fishing or just taking a walk down to the river and combing the island in front of the cabin for nature’s treasurers. Hiking/cross country ski adventures await up Reese Creek which takes you into YNP on foot.

The place was new and clean. It’s in a development.
We were surprised to find this place in a semicircular development of about 20 similar cabins. The fireplace in the living room didn’t work so if we wanted heat there the very noisy bedroom heaters had to be turned up high which made sleeping uncomfortable. Bring your own toilet paper since not much is supplied.
We do apologize that the gas fireplace quit working during your stay. Unfortunately failures beyond our control do occur occasionally. The heater was promptly repaired and is now working perfectly.
Sorry that it was a surprise regarding the location among other cabins. Most folks really enjoy the camaraderie of the shared grounds and community fire pit while the patio area remains semi private for personal outdoor enjoyment. Somehow that does not stop the abundant wildlife from wandering through the grounds.
Our welcome letter specifically outlines the amenities that are/are not included. It is stated that one roll of toilet paper is provided as a courtesy and that longer stay guests do need to purchase their own. We strongly recommend that guests read their welcome letter before check-in so they can know what to expect.
Thank you for your patronage, Lainie
Cozy, clean, comfortable cabin! And an amazing view of the Yellowstone river!
Everything about the cabin experience was wonderful. FYI: the road to and from the cabin was washboard so appropriate vehicle makes it a bit easier to manage.
So happy our cabin met your expectations. Mountain and YNP road conditions can vary at any time of year. Always a good idea to check conditions before heading out. https://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/parkroads.htm

Everything was perfect!
We think the location can't be beat and are so happy you enjoyed it.
Great base camp to experience the park!
We loved this cozy cabin. It was in a quiet location outside of town, but very easy commute in and out of yellowstone. Very clean and had everything we needed. Even had a pair of elk grazing in the backyard several times during our stay!
We absolutely loved it!
This was the first time in almost fifteen years that we had a "Family" vacation! We really loved the cabin, and the river right behind us! We have no complaints! ☺
thanks so much for taking time to write. we want our guests to feel the cabin is their home away from home. happy travels.
Marvelous! Peaceful! Extraordinary Beautiful!
It Has All The Facilities We Were Expecting, And More. The Front View Of Yellowstone River Was Like A Post Card. Every Appliance Worked Perfectly. Beds Were Very Comfortable. The Night View Was Fantastic! We Saw Many Stars And Constellations! Even The Milky Way , With Naked Eyes. If We Had The Opportunity We Would Repeat The Stay. Thank You Very Much For The Hospitality. Completely Recommended!Yes!
