As they always say, "location, location, location!" Jason and Susan's place has this in spades! We wanted to visit NOLA but not have to stay anywhere near Bourbon Street. This neighborhood is walkable with great shops, restaurants and bars all up and down Magazine Street. You can take an uber or the street car over to the French Quarter and come back to the peace of this place. We had the use of their perfect patio which was like our own oasis! The apartment itself wants for nothing and was super clean. The linens were great quality and the bed was super comfortable. As far as hospitality goes, you couldn't ask for better hosts than Jason and Susan. They checked in with us but were never intrusive. In fact, Susan tipped us off to the Krewe of Boo parade (which she participated in!) and we loved it! I put my time in when choosing a rental and this time it paid off tenfold! Would love to stay here again and will recommend to anybody who asks!

We have stayed at several home aways and I am big on a good bed. This bed was great! Of course the location is great, it was clean but most importantly we slept well!

About Susan Phillips

I am a native New Orleanian and a school teacher. My husband has lived in New Orleans for 14 years and is a real estate professional.

Susan Phillips purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Susan Phillips chose Faubourg Delachaise

We bought this property when it was blighted and abandoned. We meticulously restored it into our family home with all the modern amenities that we are use to, but also made sure to keep its historic and architectural integrity intact. We love our neighborhood because of its walk ability and all the historic homes surrounding us.

What makes this apartment unique

This one bedroom apartment is located two blocks from the bustling Magazine Street corridor in a peaceful tree lined section of Uptown. Convenient to everything New Orleans has to offer. Short walk to grocery store, pharmacy, bars, restaurants, shopping. Magazine street has a bus line and the historic New Orleans streetcar is 6 blocks away. Lushly landscaped backyard with courtyard is a perfect place to start your day with a cup a coffee or unwind with a glass of wine.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Bunnoi and her friends were ideal guests. They left the apartment in perfect condition and I hardly knew they were there. I would be happy to host her again anytime.
