Charming one bedroom apartment is completely furnished and located in the rear of our home. It has 12 foot ceilings, hard wood floors, Wi-Fi, cable, washer-dryer, complete kitchen with stainless steel appliances, queen size bed, shower-bath combo, queen size sofa sleeper, walk in closet, and brick patio garden off the bedroom. Guests are two blocks away from shopping, restaurants, grocery store, and the night life of Magazine Street. You will have your own private entrance. Have your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine in the courtyard.
I am a native New Orleanian and a school teacher. My husband has lived in New Orleans for 14 years and is a real estate professional.
Susan Phillips purchased this apartment in 2010
We bought this property when it was blighted and abandoned. We meticulously restored it into our family home with all the modern amenities that we are use to, but also made sure to keep its historic and architectural integrity intact. We love our neighborhood because of its walk ability and all the historic homes surrounding us.
This one bedroom apartment is located two blocks from the bustling Magazine Street corridor in a peaceful tree lined section of Uptown. Convenient to everything New Orleans has to offer. Short walk to grocery store, pharmacy, bars, restaurants, shopping. Magazine street has a bus line and the historic New Orleans streetcar is 6 blocks away. Lushly landscaped backyard with courtyard is a perfect place to start your day with a cup a coffee or unwind with a glass of wine.
Bunnoi and her friends were ideal guests. They left the apartment in perfect condition and I hardly knew they were there. I would be happy to host her again anytime.
Had a wonderful trip and really loved the house. Magazine street was great for dining options, but beware there's almost no live music. You're going to have to travel a little bit to get to that. Susan was more then accommodating for us and overall wet had a great experience
The photos don't lie. This rental was wonderful and offered so much more than a hotel room. It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. You enter from a side door into a large combination living room and kitchen. Off this is the roomy bedroom with attached bath. A back door leads to a private enclosed brick patio with table and chairs lit by fairy lights, a perfect place to relax after a day exploring the French Quarter and Garden District. On-street parking wasn't a problem. For $3 a day you can take unlimited rides on the nearby St. Charles streetcar to and from the French Quarter, making your car unnecessary if that's where you intend to spend your time. I have nothing negative to say about this rental. It was gorgeous with very high ceilings and tall wooden doors. Sheets, towels, and all sorts of cookware are provided, along with a washer, dryer, ironing board and iron. The owners are very nice and refunded my security deposit the very next day. If we ever return to New Orleans we definitely will stay here again.
Looks just like the pictures. Close to Magazine St shopping and dining. Easy Uber/taxi to French quarter.
The location is great and the place is in great shape. Recently updated and very clean and comfortable.
My wife and I spent the weekend in New Orleans and we rented this apt. It met all our needs: Very comfortable; perfectly clean and a easy walk to great restaurants and shopping. We took our drinks "to go" at the end of one evening and enjoyed them on the back courtyard. Can't recommend enough!!
