First time available for rent! Our newly remodeled home sits on a hilltop on the Los Angeles/Orange County border. Enjoy your privacy - the house is on a cul-de-sac shared with only one other house. The lot is just over an acre and bordered by a nature preserve.
Nature enthusiasts and hikers will love this property! A hiking trail begins steps from the back door, continues up the property's hillside, and connects with 26 miles of hiking trails. From the top of the property enjoy 360 degree views of Orange County, the Los Angeles Basin, the San Gabriel Valley, the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains. On clear days you can see the coastline stretching from Newport Beach to Santa Monica, Catalina Island, and the San Jacinto Mountains. The views of the city lights at night are breathtaking.
This home is close to everything! Downtown Los Angeles, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Raging Waters, and the Angeles National Forest are less than 20 miles away. Los Angeles and Orange County Beaches are less than an hour away. The mountain and desert parks and resorts in Palm Springs and Lake Arrowhead are just under 90 minutes away. The possibilities are endless! You can plan a different day trip every day!
You don't need to leave the house to have a great vacation. The backyard is perfect for entertaining and relaxing with a new custom Napolean BBQ grill and plenty of outdoor seating. Enjoy meals on the deck listening to the birds or hook up your favorite music. The sunsets are exquisite; as the sun sets you can see the Santa Monica mountains to the west. Enjoy from the deck or from the hillside steps. You can also sit in the private front yard and watch the city lights sparkle as the sun goes down.
The home is complete with everything you need to cook, relax and play. The kitchen is new with custom granite countertops, travertine walls, and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the pots, pans, equipment and utensils needed to cook a gourmet meal. The equipment includes food processor, blender, rice cooker, crock pot plus all of the basics. EVEN A FULL SPICE RACK! We have personally found it frustrating to arrive at vacation rentals only to realize we need go purchase salt, pepper, spices, and equipment to make dinner. Everything is here for you.
Relax and play in the movie room with the 15 foot projection screen. The ceiling-mounted projector has hookups for cable television (included), video games (Wii-U included), Netflix (included), and computers (bring your laptop). The sound comes through Bose speakers. Bring your own video console and see your games projected on a 15' diagonal! The sofas in the movie room were custom made for the home. After experiencing movies here, you will never want to go to the theater again.
The beds are comfy with all new mattresses and 100% cotton sheets. In addition to the comforters, you'll have six Alpaca blankets imported from Ecuador. The blankets are different weights so each person can find the perfect fit.
There are three bathrooms - one with a shower/bathtub combo and two with showers. The bathrooms are remodeled with travertine showers and granite countertops. All are stocked with towels and necessities such as cotton balls, Q-tips, soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotions.
One last note - there's a HUGE avocado tree that rains avocados in the summer. They are delicious! If you're not an avocado fan, they make a great spa treatment for the skin and hair.
We purchased this home in 2005 when expecting our first child. Now we have two children, a boy aged 9 and a 5-year old girl. We love to travel and rent out our home to families visiting LA and Orange Counties.
Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2005
We chose this home because, when we first saw it, we walked straight out onto the back deck and didn't want to leave. My husband and I work in Los Angeles and loved the opportunity to escape to this serene property after spending our days battling LA's traffic. We're close to the city - the drive is only about 20 minutes if timed correctly - but we feel a million miles away when we're home.
We are also hiking enthusiasts. We were thrilled to find a home with direct access to miles of hiking trails with breathtaking views of Los Angeles, OC, and all of the surrounding mountain ranges. The property is also centrally located to seemingly endless attractions throughout Southern California.
Finally, we chose this property for our childrens' safety. The lot is mostly hillside and the hike up and down the property is a bit steep, but both our children became proficient hikers shortly after learning to walk. Few cars come to our cul-de-sac. Plus, we have Halley the German Shepherd who won't even permit a squirrel to set foot on the lot.
Views, views and more views! On the 4th of July you can see the fireworks shows all the way to Pasadena. All of the avocados you can eat! A serene, private property in the middle of a sprawling metropolis.
We had a fantastic time staying at this home. It has great furnishings and the rooms are well designed and comfortable. Plenty of space for everyone. Wonderful house to entertain, enjoy dinner outside on the patio, and watch movies on the big screen projector. Also, the view is incredible! We loved it and would definitely stay again.
I rented this home as an easy location to handle my mother's funeral at nearby Rose Hills Mortuary. A quiet retreat at the top of the hill was just what was needed. Easy entry, clean and attractive home and yard. The house was truly turn-key. Addition of sundry items such as individually wrapped toothbrushes and laundry soap were a nice find. The kitchen was complete with easy to locate items of need, including cooking spray and peanut butter. Truly the only items required were our own clothes and perishable food. The location was lovely; being surrounded by beauty was very welcomed at this difficult time. Escapes to the back yard views brought thoughtful smiles to all in our party. This was a 5-star experience! I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative. Owner even found my son's wrist watch and notified me promptly. Only one item to be aware of: steep one car driveway. Great service, great home, great experience!
So this was my first experience renting a home instead of a hotel, so I was a bit nervous and placed caution in my decision. So just based on the fact that I didn't get ripped off or lose a kidney in the process was a great, this alone earned this estate 3 stars. With all the jitters of a first time home renter out of the way the real review can begin.
We drove up to the home around 3 o'clock even though check in was around was 4 pm, the gate combination was sent to me at 3:10 pm. Prompt and early that was the first good sign (especially cause I needed to use a restroom) of the weekend. Upon entrance of the home I was blown away by the cleanliness of the estate and how spacious and homely it felt. There was a note on the kitchen counter next to a bag of chips ,fresh avocados, salsa, and a bottle of wine that read, " avocados + salsa = guacamole". This was a great introduction to Pedro the home owner who again sent me a message asking if the property was to my liking and if anything was needed feel free to contact him.
The rest of the party of 8 arrived later in the day and they all remarked "on how nice the house was and how fair the pricing was" before hitting the beds after their ten hour drive in. We woke up the next day headed the Los Angeles convention center which was a nice straight 20 minute drive with no traffic and the day begun. (Needless to say Anime Expo was awesome, but this is not what this review is about). We got back to house with about 8 pounds of BBQ and found there was ample silverware and plates to suffice for 8 guests. Once Dinner was gone we all played board games on the gorgeous patio for the rest of the night. Others enjoyed the large format projector in the front room that acted as a monitor for a laptop (which i highly recommended for all you Netflix users out there).
The next morning is where I found my first and only problem with this house. When you rent a home, one would expect enough cookware to provide large quantity meals (at least in my case) for at least the amount of guest the home sleeps. That being said trying to cook 4 Packs of bacon in the awesome double oven that came in the home is quite a chore with only one two baking sheets I could really only load one oven at a time. This is small gripe, but one that is easily fixed and to my surprise was quickly rectified by Pedro. Short and sweet this home was great and earns my five stars. I will be back
This property was as advertised. It was very clean and well supplied. The owner was very helpful and responsive. The location was great; one of our favorite parts of this vacation was hiking in the hills behind the house. I would highly recommend this property.
This is a great place to stay, you will have no regret for what you paid for. This is a family trip for us with 3 young kids and couple grandma,pa.
Great deck with a beautiful view as this house is at the top of the mountain
The kitchen is so big that you can do whatever you want
Great living room and eating area that easily host 10+ people
Center location for Disneyland, universal studio and Santa monica, all about 30 mins away.
If you are chinese, this house is closed to many restaurants.
Bad (I don't really want to call this as bad, but would like to share with you)
If you don't have a car, this house has a great view as it is at the top of the hill. If u want to travel by bus, you are looking at 20+ mins walking back to the hill.
i visited the place during chrismas and the weather is relatively cold. As a result, the heat is constantly on. There is no humidifier in the house and that makes the place a bit dry. I guess in general, LA doesn't have lot of time with 10- degree C weather.
About the owner.
Extremely helpful and easy to reach. 10 out of 10.
The place was super clean, new, modern, and everything we could expect and more. I would definitely rent this place again, the next time we are in the area.
You are close to Disney, Knotts Berry Farm, Raging Waters, and all of the best LA and Orange County have to offer.
