Why The Owner chose Upper Peninsula Michigan

Husband and wife owners grew up in Marquette and took years to find this home in a great location which is perfect for visitors to Marquette. They enjoyed updating the property for a couple of years and now letting others enjoy it as well.

What makes this house unique

Just two short blocks to Marquette's most popular sandy beaches, two blocks in the other direction to the Third Street district including the famous Frosty Treats and Vangos. Also, a short walk (less than 15 mintues to downtown or the Lower Harbor. There is also a bike shop with rentals within two blocks along Lake Shore Blvd. We love walking throughout the area and then relaxing in the very comfortable living area with a big screen TV and huge sectional couch all thoughtfully decorated by the interior designer/owner.

Fantastic visit in welcoming house

  • 5 of 5

Loved this house for our recent trip to Marquette. Beautifully decorated, clean, welcoming and comfortable. It was perfect for four adults and one child. Only wish the weather hadn't been rainy so we could have taken advantage of the adorable back yard.

All the comforts of home in beautiful Marquette

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this house. Lots of space for our family, big backyard, perfect location for morning walks to lake and coffee shop ( Dead River coffee is terrific) and evening walks to Frosty Treats for ice cream. Clean, spacious, great decor feels like a beach house. Hope to stay here again next time we're in Marquette.

A spacious, charming house comfortable for our family of 4

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed staying here on several family vacations. The house fits our family of 4 well. Large dining & living room with comfortable couch for lounging, large flatscreen t.v. that had us watching the political conventions together. Kitchen with appliances, cookware, utensils & space for preparing full meals - and picnic table right outside. Our teenagers enjoyed each having their own room and private t.v. Convenient short walk to the beach or to the main streets in town. The modern, beachy decor in a charming Victorian house feels perfect for a vacation home. We'll be back!

Clean & Easy

  • 5 of 5

This is the 3rd time we have stayed. The house is always clean and the owner is easy to work with. This was our first visit where the weather and our schedule allowed us to sit outside at the backyard conversation area which we enjoyed. The location is excellent. We walked to the lake shore every morning and out to dinner one time. You can see from the pictures that everything is beautiful inside. Highly recommend as a great value alternative to a hotel for families..

Perfect Holiday House

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely holiday in Marquette and this house is the most beautifully decorated home I have ever rented. I rent homes all over the U.S. and Europe from VRBO and all have met our needs but this house was by far the BEST. Nothing was overlooked. Thanks for helping to make our daughters college graduation perfect.

Wedding Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

Our daughter was married in Marquette and we rented this property as our home base during all the pre and post events. The owner is easy to work with. The caretaker is prompt and the property is spotless. We had snow during our stay and the driveway was plowed before we knew it. The enclosed front porch makes it easy to take off your wet boots or grab a shovel for a quick shovel of 5 steps to the carport. Everything is convenient inside and outside of the house including location to town. Our family loves to visit Marquette and we love to stay here when we visit. If you need a place to stay in town you would not be disappointed. Thanks to the owner for making this place available we really could not have imagined a better scenario for our situation.

Notes:
This house is located on the historic East side of Marquette. It is close to the beach (less than 10 minute walk), shopping and eating on Third Street (less than 10 minute walk in the opposite direction), and Downtown Marquette (maybe 15 minute walk). It is located on a quiet street and although it was built in 1910, has been renovated to offer anything a modern home should. We have collected many pamphlets and have them on display from convenient guides to mountain biking and skiing to restaurants and other forms of entertainment going on in the area. Marquette is a city with a lot to offer: festivals, NMU events, dining and of course the scenic and beautiful outdoors. Our house is a great place to "land", whether visiting family or sightseeing, our home is beautifully decorated with fun pieces that honor the spirit of the city and the UP in general. It's a cozy spot that makes you feel right at home!
