We built our casa here in Saladita to share with family and friends. We and our family are avid surfers and now have 7 grandchildren who are learning to surf as well.
Susan Crist purchased this house in 2007
The location, 30 minutes from Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo, is convenient but removed enough on a fairly undeveloped stretch of Pacific Coast.
We have full time neighbors on each side of us.
We came for the great year round surfing with low crowds.
Warm year round temperatures with light afternoon and evening breezes make this an ideal warm weather vacation spot. Water temperatures vary from 75- 85 degrees.
Daily maid service is included in your stay.
Surf lessons , prepared meals, babysitting and in home masseuse can be arranged upon request.
AT&T cell service is available at this location.
The main house and lower casita are great. Beautiful clean property on the beach. Nicely decorated. Main house - Love the outdoor space (kitchen, dining space and living room). Great location... short walk to surf break. Downside... no rooms have air conditioning. It would be nice if at least the have upper bedrooms had A/C so that you can escape the heat. All rooms have fans... but not sufficient when it is really hot. P.s. the owner is very friendly and helpful. And the local property caretaker is also friendly.
We're brand new to surfing but had heard La Saladita was a great place to learn. That this house was stocked with surf boards made it all very easy. To my delight, the house was also stocked with SUPs, white water kayaks, and boogie boards - a water enthusiast's dream. The presence of those ww kayaks cut my surfing career short, but the kids and my husband had a blast on the boards and now are hooked.
The house is magical and the caretakers, Alfonso and Alicia, truly gems. We fell into an easy rhythm of fresh fruit in the morning, lots of beach time, splashing in the pool, lovely meals on the covered deck overlooking the ocean, naps in the hammocks, and just generally reveling in the warm air and long sunsets. You should GO; this house is pretty much perfect.
We stayed for 5 nights over semana santa, two couples and a toddler, and never wanted to leave. Everything was perfect, the house is INCREDIBLE, the waves are never-ending, and the beach is lovely for swimming or running.
Playa La Saladita is the perfect location for a group of surfers to stay. We had five surfers in our group and found the house to be spacious and completely adequate and well supplied. The bedrooms are large the beds are very comfortable and the ocean views from the bedrooms and patios are fantastic. The gardens surrounding the house are beautiful and well maintained. The pool and outdoor shower and bathroom are yet another plus that completes this fantastic property.
The waves are fantastic long lefts most of the week 3' to 4' great shape limited crowds we found the best surf at the ranch a secluded river mouth point break just north of the left everyone talks about. We surfed this spot for the hour or two with not one else in the water. It was like surfing trestles on an epic day with no one else in the water. We owe a big thanks to Wax for setting up a great surf session and 300 great surfing photos. Many thanks to the owners that went out of their way to set up transportation for our group with Wax.
Adolfo and Alicia the caretakers they are Great! they make sure you have everything you need and are a wealth of information about the area. Alicia cooked for us during our stay the food was fantastic.
The downside to the stay was communication to the outside world was a little tough. There is no wifi at the house and getting out on the telephone is very difficult. If you have someone that needs to be in constant contact with you I suggest purchasing international satellite service.
Without a doubt if you are looking for a great surfing holiday this is the location you want to stay at. I would not hesitate to stay again.
I have to say this House is amazing. It feels like a home. COmpletely equipped to have the ultimate surf vacation. The rooms, the views, the gardens...everything is just beautiful and cozy. The house keepers Adolfo and Alicia are willing to help you out in anything you'd need and they are super sweet. We had both casas rented at the same time and accommodated 3 couples and other 3 members of our family and there was still room for 4 more friends if we needed more room. Roger and Susan are really cool surfer folks and we are very grateful to have stayed in their lovely mexican home.
