Welcome to North Wind! Come enjoy this gorgeous 2200 sqft ski chalet at Bryce Resort. Located 3/4 of a mile from the main lodge and ski lifts. In the winter, the wonderful stand alone Swedish fireplace provides a cozy ambiance to stretch out and unwind after a day on the slopes or at the local vineyards. In the summer, a wrap- around porch and balcony provide plenty of outside space to enjoy the mountain air. Close to hiking, golf, skiing and swimming. A true four season resort just 1.5 hours from the beltway in DC.
There are three levels containing three bedrooms and 2.5 baths, with sleeping for 6-8 persons. On the main floor, there are two bedrooms. One has two full beds, the other bedroom has one bunk bed and one full size bed. Upstairs, there is the master bedroom complete with a queen size bed, and on the lowest level, there is a gameroom/ tv area with a queen sofa bed. The chalet comes with Wi-Fi, Hulu Plus, Netflix, Bluray player, (but no DirecTV or cable) and an assortment of movies, books, and toys. It is the perfect weekend retreat or holiday vacation spot!
For winter rentals: You will find that this is a perfect chalet in which to unwind after hitting the slopes. There is a mud-room to keep your skis and take off your boots, an unlimited amount of firewood to use in the Swedish fireplace, and an open-floor setting to enjoy the company of others.
For summer time rentals: You will find a wonderful large wrap-around deck to enjoy. There are mini-split air conditioning units in all rooms to keep you cool on hot summer days.
Note that due to popularity of rentals, we cannot guarantee a booking UNLESS the $150 refundable deposit has been received. Thank you for your understanding that we cannot 'hold' properties on verbal requests. Also, the rate for any first two nights (weekend or weekday) is $425-500 depending on the season. Each night thereafter is $135. VRBO sometimes mistakenly quotes midweek rentals at $135/night. Please contact owner for accurate price totals.

We purchased a home in 2011.
The Owner purchased this chalet in 2011
Bryce Resort really does have it all! My husband is a military officer, and we tend to move around often. We wanted our small children to grow up knowing one place intimately, and Bryce Resort fits the bill as one of the most family-friendly places we have ever vacationed.
Our home has an unique stand-alone Swedish fireplace that allows multiple friends and family to gather around. The chalet has soaring ceilings, a wall of cedar, and lots of light. It has been decorated in an elegant, and warm manner. You will be sure to feel at home.
We enjoyed our stay at your house in Bryce. It was a great home base for visiting our daughters at Camp Strawderman in Edinburg. It was nice having room to spread out and make dinner ourselves rather than the usual hotel routine. The mountains were socked in by clouds on Friday and Saturday so we used the air conditioning more than I would have expected just to dry things out. I think we left everything in the same condition as when we arrived. However, my dog did bite through one of the ping pong balls. He is not normally a ball dog, but he got very excited when we started playing.
I hope we can do this again next year.
Well equiped and spacious house. Good place to get away from busy cities during our 3 week roadtrip through Canada-USA. Kids enjoyed the basement (pingpong, darts, Netflix) and outdoor. There was a little problem with access to the house, but it was resolved very quickly by the owners and a neighbour. Because of this little issue they gave us a discount, very generous. Communication was quick and good.
Perfect house to be all year long, it was my second time staying in this house. Since last time some new renovations were added as netflix nice big tv and more. I would definitely recomend this beautiful house to anybody coming in winter for ski or in summer for run away from big city and enjoy going to lake wich is just few miles away. House was clean as last time, perfect basement makes life easier as kids playing there watching cartoons and giving some privacy to parents. Thanks Angela, did not meet you in person but you are awesome as fast reply or returning calls. Guys if you see this house available just get it . It worth every penny spended for renting it.
This is our second year staying at North Wind and our 8th coming to Basye/Bryce. North Wind is the best place we have stayed over the years: comfortable, clean, well-appointed with all the modern conveniences we love (WiFi, Netflix, etc). Angie is a dream to work with and so accommodating. And of course we love the resort, Lake Laura, and all the other activities nearby. We will definitely be back.
we love love this chalet! so comfortable in every way, from the burning fireplace to cozy tv/ ping pong room downstairs. the division of bedrooms was nice, with kids' rooms on main level and master suite upstairs.
Angela is the perfect host, welcoming us with a bottle of wine, providing linens/towels and allowing pets -- all w/out any extra fees!
the house has some basic supplies, but glad we bought cooking oil and extra toilet paper :) we cooked all our meals- can seat up to 10 ppl (at dining table and kitchen bar).
house is located about a mile fm Bryce but on steep hills, on snowy days, 4X4 is way to go. we ski-ed and tubed all wkend, then headed to house to warm up w/some hot chocolate- perfect way to enjoy winter!
What a wonderful chalet! We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful fireplace, the very comfortable beds and linens and the comfortable living space. Angela was incredible in communicating with us before, during, and after our stay. She made us feel welcome and that she was truly interested in being certain everything was just right.
We rented this chalet for a week at the tail end of ski season (family of 5). We lucked out, as there was a ton of snow on St. Patrick's day this year! The house is about a mile from the ski resort. I walked back and forth a couple times. The roads up to the house are pretty steep. If there is snow, I would take 4-wheel drive if possible. My husband thought his BMW all-wheel-drive could handle it, but no. We got him out eventually, though ;). The owners have arranged for snow removal, so it was a nice surprise when a man with a plow and shovels came by in the afternoon to clear the driveway and walkways.
From the pictures online, it's hard to tell if the layout would be convenient or not. In person, it is awesome. The fireplace area is sooo nice, and we had no trouble whatsoever getting a fire going (make sure you use DRY wood, even if you have to pick some up from the 7-11). There is a notebook in the house with directions on how to work absolutely everything, so no worries.
I loved that there was a mudroom. I made my kids leave their boots in there so as not to track snow all over the house. It also kept the house warmer because you could close the door to the mudroom and not have a breeze every time someone came inside. The kitchen was on the small side, but well stocked and labeled so you didn't have to open door after door to find something. We had no trouble cooking family dinners. The dining table is a nice size.
The bedrooms are spacious. The master bedroom was very comfortable. The showers have decent water pressure. Everything works as it should.
The basement is a nice recreation room. The kids loved the ping-pong and darts, and of course the TV. It was great to have a selection of dvd's to choose from. The basement is finished, warm and inviting, and has its own bathroom, so it is a nice place to hang out.
It was especially nice that the owners allowed us to bring our little dog. He was overjoyed to finally be able to come with us on a vacation. He was so excited to have a change of scene and be able to explore someplace new. It make it more fun for all of us to have him there.
Angie the owner was very easy to work with, no trouble at all with payment and refund of deposit. She was even able to accommodate our request for a late checkout - much appreciated!
By the end of the trip, my 19 yr old daughter asked if we could buy the house! Had to say no, since it's not for sale, and we are tuition-poor :(.
