We look forward to sharing our piece of paradise with you!
Three families came together to rehab this property and enjoy its quiet uniqueness- whether enjoying the water, the sunset, boating or fishing. We've even had a sea plane land in front of the house.
Mara Sierocinski purchased this house in 2014
This property needed some updating. Deck was small and rotting, bathrooms were from the 1970's. It just needed someone who could see the great place this could become.
The sunsets are spectacular! Directly across the Chesapeake bay is Baltimore, so you can see the fireworks from here. Its a beautiful property, spring, summer, winter or fall. Great place to kayak- either up the bay or to Rock Hall Harbor, or Swan Creek.
The house was greater then we could ever have imagined, we had a great time. The house itself was wonderful, the surrounding property was amazing, the beach access to the Chesapeake was perfect and the view is indescribable. The water was amazing and we could walk out 2 to 300 yards, maybe even further, in chest high water. Last but not least your hospitality could not have been greater, you are one of the nicest owners I have encountered.
We've stayed at this location for two summer vacations in a row, early July of 2016 and September of 2015. We simply love it! The owners are incredible and so helpful from start to finish. Our family absolutely loves to hunt for sea glass and this place is the absolute best for that hobby. I have never seen so much sea glass. (Perhaps I shouldn't reveal this so no one else scoops it up!) We ran into an issue when the TVs didn't work for a day or two and the owners were super responsive. A storm had caused some issues in the area (nothing that could be done until it was fixed via the cable company). But the owners were so good at keeping us updated and are just truly nice folks. The house itself is big and well equipped. We love the deck and the big yard and of course, the beach. The neighbors are nice too! I didn't even get attacked by any black flies this past summer! Ha! We didn't have issues with any bugs and the kids truly enjoyed the treasure hunt we put together for them on the grounds. We did end up driving quite a distance to a community pool as it was really hot in July and our son LOVES swimming, but doesn't so much love swimming in the Bay. :) We would highly recommend this place to anyone. We can't wait to come back. Thank you for sharing your home with us and let me know if you decide to sell. Ha!
House was fine, air conditioning was better downstairs than upstairs. For a house like this not to have a gas barbeque is a negative. Had to go and buy a portable one. They did have a charcoal BBQ. Plenty of bathrooms, bedrooms were OK. Furniture was OK as well. Deck looked great unfortunately the weekend we were there the temperature was a billion degrees outside.
We had such a wonderful time....it is so relaxing there. We loved being away from the hustle and bustle of life. The stars at night where gorgeous!! The sunsets were breathtaking....we loved pushing our girls on the tree swings. The bay water was warm and delightful to swim in.
I was looking for a place where a group of long-time friends based in the DC metro area could get together away from the trappings of city life for a weekend on the Bay, and this home couldn't have suited us better. The owners were extraordinarily helpful and responsive from the time I first inquired about the rental until our stay was complete. Once we got there, we enjoyed full days of fishing and barbecuing under the sun until it was time to retreat back to the amazing deck to watch it slip below the horizon for another day. Inside, the house was nicely renovated and gave space for 10 people to stretch out with room to spare.
If that sounds like a good time to you, then I'm sure you'll be just as pleased as we were. Just understand that flying insects also enjoy the seclusion and amazing waterfront views. The mosquito treatment on the property seemed to be effective. We weren't bothered by them. It was just flies by day and gnats by night. They come with the territory, but bring some bug spray and you'll be fine. We look forward to returning some day.
I have rented several houses through HomeAway and VRBO but this house is by far the very best. Where do I begin....spectacular view, very clean, lots of room, comfortable beds and plenty of towels (bring your own toilet paper!). Our favorite 2 places to hangout were the beach and the deck. The weather was perfect (thank you God) and the Bay water was refreshing. The A/C worked great. We never used the downstairs room with the TV so I can't comment on that but who needs TV when you have such a great view. Beautiful sunsets everyday and we had the good fortune of a full moon. Sitting on the beach with a cold beer and watching the boats go by was so relaxing. As with any new place it took us a little while to figure some things out but I have to say, this is the perfect house to stay. I highly recommend the Harbor Shack (owner includes this in her paperwork) for eats and drinks on the water. There were 9 of us girls (women 58/59 but young at heart!). We call ourselves the Ya Ya's and had plenty of space to be together or take a moment to ourselves. We can't wait to come back and I highly recommend this home.
The property was absolutely gorgeous. It is right on the water with a huge plot of land and a great deck. It was perfect for us to have the comforts of a home with nature right there. You can throw a football, grill, and just relax!! The owners were great as well getting in touch whenever there was any issue promptly and resolving it without any problem. It was clean, there were sheets and blankets on every bed and plenty of towels. They had a fire pit and said that using the driftwood was fine. There is not a ton nearby but we brought everything and stayed there the whole time. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it!
