The Old Cape Cod features three upstairs bedrooms and one downstairs. There are seven beds in total. The entire home, from the foundation up through the roof was faithfully renovated in 2013. The backyard is large and provides plenty of room for children, BBQs, a pet, or just just relaxing with friends. There is a large cedar outdoor shower and cedar deck. And best of all you are steps from the pristine waters of Orient Harbor, across the street from the Oysterponds Historical Society, and a one minute walk to the absolutely wonderful Orient General Store. Golfing, fishing, sailing, swimming, visiting wineries or museums, or just relaxing in peace and quiet - the Old Cape Cod is a great home base.
We enjoyed a wonderful week in Orient NY. Everything we could want or wish for was provided and then some. This is a very comfortable house in a lovely little village, near the water. The yard is a good size, surrounded by some beautiful flowers, a large tree with a swing, outdoor table and BBQ. Indoors was somehow a combination of a trip down memory lane with all the modern amenities, clean and bright too. The owner was available by text and responsive to all our needs. Thank you Michael!
My husband and I immersed ourselves in this lovely historic home and town. Lots of pretty
rooms and places for privacy in the home. The accommodations were wonderful with modern baths
and even 2 zone central a/c. The furnishings were right out of a design magazine with a mix
of modern comfy and antique fun...all quite liveable. Kitchen was old fashioned with
a table and chairs that looked out to front street and to pretty back yard that our
little dog loved. Walked the streets loaded with restored historic homes daily, went to
museum, and got companionship and goodies at country store daily where Dinah
and Miriam became delightful friends. Excellent lunches! Water everywhere and farms
picture book perfect. Owner, Mike Ventura was kind and made sure everything was
was taken care of for us. He is just the best! We will be back...again and again, I hope.
The house and property are really beautiful, just a couple of houses from the water, and the neighborhood is charming. The landlord is on top of everything, and easy to deal with. No frustration or waiting. Couldn't be better. I couldn't recommend this property more highly. We hope to go back!
This property is a beautiful home in an excellent location right in the village. The house is decorated very tastefully with a nod towards the history of Orient which we enjoyed reading about in the many coffee table books around the lounge. Our large party included our 3 children, one set of grandparents, our niece and our dog - it accommodated us all perfectly. The bedroom on the main floor was very handy for grandparents. There's so much to do in the area e.g. sightseeing, visiting the wineries (Konta Kosta was a favourite), shopping in the local stores and of course enjoying the beaches. I would highly recommend this property and am hoping to visit again soon. The owner was very pleasant to deal with and answered all of our numerous questions in a very timely manner. 10 out of 10.
This property is right in the middle of the village. We walked around and didn't use our car once. The house is super charming and was much bigger than we thought it would be. Only drawback was no dishwasher - but we used the BBQ most nights which made it a non-issue, Highly recommend this historic gem. Perhaps best of all, they allowed us to bring our dog!
Had a pre-Christmas family get together in Orient. The Old Cape Cod was perfect & we had the greatest weather imaginable. Three couple were very comfortable. We loved the charm of the house: exposed beams, decor & nice bathrooms. We enjoyed bike rides, beach walks, trips to the Country Store (100 yds away), wine tours, fishing & even a outdoor barbecue in December. The owner was very nice & easy to deal with. This home is a treasure that made our experience special.
